I remember always playing this song on repeat, it was ny first favorite. This song is the song I wanted to learn on the uke in the first place. This is pretty nostalgic for me, im only 10 btw. Huge fan of ur vids, make more!
Dm is no biggie...just add one finger to your F chord. Bb is understandably more difficult for some people. It doesn’t have to be. I have a tutorial on “Tutti Frutti” coming out next week where I talk about Bb, and it might be worth watching.
Kristen Chavez think of it as an em. You could always remove the last finger and it won’t do much a difference. It has been a year since February that I started playing and I teacher kids ukulele so I understand it looks hard and maybe hard for you to play
Hi... Found it difficult to switch at first.. but now it's getting better.. played the video over 3 times n played along... Now it's time to get the chorus.. it's quick switching.. so will take some time. But thanks alot for the super easy chords 😍 Would you be able to list down the capo version chords in the key of C ??
Look at the Circle of Fifths. If you want to go from F to C, the move is one "segment" over. Then do the same for the other chords. This is a great way to transpose a song if you can't do so from the intervals. www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwjfw6vC17DkAhWKiOAKHYBLBvoQjRx6BAgBEAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.classicfm.com%2Fdiscover-music%2Fmusic-theory%2Fwhat-is-the-circle-of-fifths%2F&psig=AOvVaw3axadcoVSWreD8dhvmkovX&ust=1567463716006184
F and c in the chorus are half chords. You only play half of your strumming pattern on those chords. After you get it once it’ll be really easy to do 😁 I’ve been playing this song on ukulele for a year
I have a bunch of videos that show how to play it...I started making tutorials long after this video (and now include a tutorial with just about every new play along). Look at 1:38 in this tutorial. ruclips.net/video/xMHcv3qIG90/видео.html
So it took me a HUGE amount of time to figure this out. Everyone said DDU UDU, but I couldn't figure out how it fit in. The DDU UDU I've been playing is from "somewhere over the rainbow", and that's a slower version. So DDU UDU technically DOES fit, but you have to speed it up A LOT, and when multiple chord changes happen, you just have to change the chord accordingly without breaking the DDU UDU pattern. It sounds cool. Play it again and again a few times, and you'll get the hang of it. I mean.. if DDU UDU is too difficult, you can do UUUU or DDDD also. That fits easier with the chord changes. BUT... DDU UDU definitely sounds better. ;)
Don’t get too caught up in the singular “right” pattern. You are better off finding patterns that fit the style that you can play, and playing at the right tempo.
I had comments turned off for a very long time. A ukulele manufacturer suggested that I open comments. I do hold comments for approval...normally I'd delete a comment like this, as it isn't positive in any sense, but I think it is good to know why comments only appear recently. And sadly, it affirms why I didn't allow comments in the past and still require approval to publish comments.
There are a lot of ways you can strum to it. You can strum DDDD or UUUU, or you can strum DDUDUDU. There is no right answer as long as you stick to the beat and keep your hand moving up and down as you strum (the DU always goes even if you don’t play a strum).

Thanks for the suggestion. I really encourage people not to get caught up in a "right" pattern, but to find a pattern that they can play, and that matches the feel of the song.
No capo needed. There are only one or two songs where a capo is needed, but they will say so clearly. Meanwhile, there are at least 650 other songs on this channels and others (@Ukulaliens, Andy Ramos) where you can find other songs.
@@ukeplayalongs Well, my the sound I hear, for example, the F chord, has quite a high pitch(?) or whatever that was. But when I try to do it in mine, standard tuned, it wasn't like that. Might you know what is it I'm doing wrong? If you do, kindly tell me, thank you!
Well, I am using a tuner app,and it says that yes, I'm tuned perfectly. Maybe it's just because of my uke, really... still, thanks for answering my queries. Still gonna do it, even if it's like this.

Can you replace bb with something else? Is there another chord that is the same to that one? Because I felt it really hard to transition! If there is let me know please :3
You can play part of B-flat, such as just the top two strings. But ultimately, the Key of F uses that B-flat chord often, and many of us can sing well in the key of F, so it is worth learning and playing. My main suggestions are to not be afraid of it, and to let the ukulele do most of the work for you...which reminds me that I still need to record a tutorial for some chords!

You can also do C G Am F for the whole song just put capo on the third fret
If you use a capo the cords are way different
Thanks so much for the chords!
When it comes to playing in the original key, I prefer to just downtune my ukulele and play it like the video.
You're very welcome!

If your just starting, and you cant sing and play. Just do a simple pattern like 2 strums per chord.
Nice tip!

there is no strumming pattern, just play along
i do dd udu
I have a capo. Is there a way to play something as good as this?(with the capo attached) Or would I have to do it like this?
The capo won't do anything for this play along...it is simply in this key, and you would play the chords that you see.
Recomended strumming pattern? 😁
There really isn’t a “right” pattern; try playing what sounds good to your ears. You could try DDDUDU and see how it works.
I use DDDUDU but you can invent one that you like
nice!
Thanks!

It means that the scale of F major determines the chords that are used, and that F Major is the “home” key.
