I have to give it to you, your use of creative camera angles is impressive. The one from under the saw was unexpected. Also, never let anyone tell you that you don't put enough clamps on your stuff, because dang... clamp city.
Kyle Toth, my hats off to you, outstanding work creating the torus. I have been down for little over 2-1/2 yrs fighting lung cancer, it's all good as I beat the cancer. now just trying to get over all the side affects, got a ways to go but getting better every day.ive been scrolling for close to 20 years, had to give it up in 2005 as my job went crazy and I no longer had the time to dedicate to my scroll saw work. just a few months back I was able to set my shop back up and start it up, did alright, still struggling with my duration, can't stay at it long without a break. Just doing what I can to keep busy until I'm healed enough to return to my work. I bought a mini lathe from harbor freight last year to create small parts to use with my scroll projects, the bug hit me and now I'm thinking of getting the lathe with the reversible head. love both forms of woodwork I do, your only limited by your imagination. hope you all the best Kyle, keep on doing what you love. it is art in its truest form.
Wow! I've been a follower of the youtube woodworking community for years now, and this project was definitely one of my favourites! Wow! Nice work! Subscribed!
wow... just wow... i'm overwhelmed by this beautiful work and does anyone notice how clean is his work place... how organized and methodical he is to work ... wow... i've never see anything like this
I have the utmost respect for the too main prerequisites to achieving this donut: patience and perseverence. Combine those with creativity and you can make anything. And obviously, you can. Respect!!!
That is not only beautiful, it is mind bending from the technical aspect and skilfully executed. One of the best things I have ever seen made. The labour and hours you spent on making it certainly justify the final outcome. Bravo is too small a word for it.
I know this video is years old but i just found it. Just the math involved in making this piece is staggering, not to mention the result being absolutely beautiful. Wow.
Hello. This guy here "saadghourry1" (look up his channel) has been uploading and monetizing other people's videos, mine and yours included. Please file a copyrights claim on your video on his channel, so we could close him off. Yuval.
Wow, the amount of time and work required for this must have been huge. Nice work. I'm sure that whatever it sold for, it wasn't enough. It's beautiful and amazing.
Mate friggen wow is all I can say, I've watch a few of you vids now and I have to say really like the camera gopro style action. Keep it up you make some amazing pieces and make it look simple.
Fuck me dead and call me jackie, his shit is pretty fucken good aye damo. I've been watching a bunch of his videos with me missus Shaza, and even she fucken fancys it!
Just in case you weren't sure how amazing this is, just check these comments! I've never seen such high praise on a woodworking video, and from very credible woodworkers, too! Everything about this is project, execution, problem solving, video, etc is spectacular!
How amazing, the creative process to think this up, the perseverance to put all those components together and then all that ingenuity with the clamping. Great work. A beautiful piece of art. Thanks.
How does turning something that would normally rot down into compost, into a beautiful work of art which will survive for the wood Gods only know how long (maybe forever) and which will be treasured and admired by all who see it, anger the gods?
I think that was from when he taped them to a board and ran them through the planer! If you look at 2:40 you can see that the boards are propped up on one end, so they go through at an angle.
You know when you see pages that get you motivated to go to the gym? This totally motivated me to learn how to do stuff in wood. Mad skills Like I never did before see.
tom c a torus is a solid of revolution made by rotating a circle shifted off the y axis (ex. being (x-4)^2+y^2=4) about the y axis. It's also called a donut...🍩
I equate this project to doing a backflip in motorcross. Once un-imaginable but now it's the industry standard. People will be trying to emulate this for a long long time. Kyle Toth is innovating art and industry. Congratulations, Kyle.
Impressive. That was obviously a ton of work, but the attention to detail really paid off. I particularly like the way you blended the two wood species
As a non native English speaker what you meant to say is you're. it's quite simple, "you're" is short for "you are" and your is referring to something that is from you. Sorry for being grammar nazi :-S
I couldn't have even fathomed how a person would have taken the boards you started with and turned in into something so different. This was a blast to watch! :)
you can tell that this took forever to make. adding the camera work and editing, this whole video is a work of art, not just the piece itself. i subscribed, thanks for inspiring!
True. They didn't go with the piece. Perhaps a concave plank at the bottom would have been better and you wouldn't had to make holes to that gorgeous piece.

Well done! I love the juxtaposition of the simple form (though not so simple execution!) with the seemingly countless segments. Great video production too.
Wow this is a truly inspirational video to watch and given all the various techniques you use i must say that you seem like a very intelligent person! Thank you for the wonderful "zen" like experience i got from watching this
Good God man, I've seen 3 of your videos so far and am floored more and more with each one I watch. You are a very talented mo-fo. keep it up, you inspiring to watch and thanks for posting them.
And there I was thinking the last video of yours I watched was the most impressive bit of turning and design i'd ever seen! you have a new subscriber and thanks for sharing your work
Nice to see a Master at work. Would be interesting to know how you determine the angle of each segment and the quantity needed to complete the full 360 degrees. Thank you for sharing your talent.
You are most likely the first person in history to run a segmented torus through a drum sander... Keep up the great work!
Hahaha
WOW! I have been waiting for this one. The object, the process and the cinematography are all inspirational.
High praise from a genius. Congratulations, Kyle. Awesome work my dude.
Wow thanks Frank! Your turn.....😉
I have to give it to you, your use of creative camera angles is impressive. The one from under the saw was unexpected. Also, never let anyone tell you that you don't put enough clamps on your stuff, because dang... clamp city.
embrezar Well thank you!! #ClampCity

i died on the inside when he started drilling holes into it
Knapsnack lol
churros
Knapsnack i was about to say the same exact thing word for word lolw
Whyyyyyyy??? Just build a separate support!
Real woodworkers make their own plans.
i am not going to lie, the way you structured this video, the camera angles and the music. It was all a breath of fresh air and i really enjoyed it
Wow! I've been a follower of the youtube woodworking community for years now, and this project was definitely one of my favourites! Wow! Nice work! Subscribed!
Thanks!
wow... just wow... i'm overwhelmed by this beautiful work and does anyone notice how clean is his work place... how organized and methodical he is to work ... wow... i've never see anything like this
Lina Aristizabal Well Thanks You!!
Most people never have enough clamps, but you've taken it to new heights.
Yup ! There's no such thing as "too many clamps". ^^
Insane!!! So many creative solutions to build this. Using the drumsander to make the taper is brilliant
Behind the computer with a smile. Wonderful!
I have the utmost respect for the too main prerequisites to achieving this donut: patience and perseverence. Combine those with creativity and you can make anything. And obviously, you can. Respect!!!
WOW! Fantastic job Kyle! Beautiful piece! I'm just getting into segmenting very inspiring.
The way you used the planer to narrow one side of the disc was genius. Great artist.
Wow! That's a great piece
That is not only beautiful, it is mind bending from the technical aspect and skilfully executed. One of the best things I have ever seen made. The labour and hours you spent on making it certainly justify the final outcome. Bravo is too small a word for it.
the feet ruin it, wou;d have been better with separae stand imo
The elegance of wood in one amazing circle. WOW!
That's beautiful, I love all the fun angles you did with the GoPro too. I'm definitely subscribing
Kyle, I am continually amazed at your vision and then to build it. Outstanding, I am in awe of your craftsmanship. Thanks for sharing
Nice, very nice. Would you consider doing a Kline bottle?
I know this video is years old but i just found it. Just the math involved in making this piece is staggering, not to mention the result being absolutely beautiful. Wow.

Yuval.
I dont have any videos so how did he steal them?
He didn't, he stole Kyle's video, I don't see your name in the message...
Wait, Kyle Koth stole this video from someone else? Or Saad stole Kyles video? Saad has no woodworking content on his channel.
+Andre Gross Saad stole from kyle, and Saad channel had no content since it was all stolen and was taken down a month ago when we all complained.
Saad lyfe
Wow, the amount of time and work required for this must have been huge. Nice work. I'm sure that whatever it sold for, it wasn't enough. It's beautiful and amazing.

I Agree with Damo great creations!
Fuck me dead and call me jackie, his shit is pretty fucken good aye damo. I've been watching a bunch of his videos with me missus Shaza, and even she fucken fancys it!
+Zeez Brah Hech yeah! Thank you
you are an artist
The "graduated fade" between woods is really well done. A beautiful piece of art.
why the fuck did I just watch a guy build a giant wooden donut
\_(•_•)_/
Curtis Chase Excuse me, it's a torus
There's always an ingrate... Aren't you inspired? It's a masterpiece by a master craftsman. :)
Nonwrath hrttt
If you want some great woodworking plans then I recommend you go here: HootWood. com
I don't know, but don't tell Homer Simpson
Just in case you weren't sure how amazing this is, just check these comments! I've never seen such high praise on a woodworking video, and from very credible woodworkers, too! Everything about this is project, execution, problem solving, video, etc is spectacular!
Thanks. People are too nice to me. Respect!
amazing, how many hours did this take to make?
at least 2
go and annoy somewhere else, dont need your boring trolling ways here!
Dave hawkins it did take at least 2
your comments ignored, you aint affecting anyone, so go away!
Dave hawkins ayee. It took about 90+ hours
Putting them through the thicknesser at an angle like that was pretty clever - nice work!
this shit just made me cry
Well I hope in a good way!?
+Kyle Toth brother you dont know how inspiring this is...i think this got me on my spiritual side
The gradation from light to dark is pretty cool. It has an almost pixelated feel to it.
what kind of cream cheese goes well with this?
jja77a it's filled with cream cheese anyway, that's what holds it together
How amazing, the creative process to think this up, the perseverance to put all those components together and then all that ingenuity with the clamping. Great work. A beautiful piece of art. Thanks.
Thank you!
So apart from angering the forest gods what does it do exactly?
xXBarbarianBeatleXx Sit on a table and look pretty
xXBarbarianBeatleXx piss off some hippies
Most woodworkers use wood from trees that are already dead or are falling over
How does turning something that would normally rot down into compost, into a beautiful work of art which will survive for the wood Gods only know how long (maybe forever) and which will be treasured and admired by all who see it, anger the gods?
Just sits there and looks like a gorgeous piece of art.
Mind blowing beautiful! The angles, the glue-ups, the massive spinning objects and excellent song choice. Wow!
1, you've got some serious balls using a lath like that!
2, awesome piece!
3, did you spend like£1000 on clamps? :P
Cannot argue with that level of craftsmanship. I've been looking forward to this vid and it REALLY doesn't disappoint! Inspirational.
Hey Kyle beautiful work. how did you get the angles cut on each individual donut?
I think that was from when he taped them to a board and ran them through the planer! If you look at 2:40 you can see that the boards are propped up on one end, so they go through at an angle.
Saftkeur good eye! Thank you.
Saftkeur
Man. I've seen some amazing wood turning on RUclips, but this is right up there with the best of it.
Well thank you!
Great. This is nice present for policeman :)
I love the nice play with camera angles! A really nice touch!
So you've created a giant donut xD
You know when you see pages that get you motivated to go to the gym?
This totally motivated me to learn how to do stuff in wood. Mad skills Like I never did before see.
you can sell it at high price to police department
This is still one my favorite pieces you have done. Excellent work Mr. Toth.
I came here to see what a Toros was, still don't know but i kinda want one....

Thanks man! Many more to come
looking for the RUclipsr 'Homer Simpson' saying, "Mmmmmm DOOOoonuts". lol
Mmmmmmm DOOOoooonuts!
***** lmao!
:)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
You sir are a patient man. The segmented rings coming together into this are amazing. Inspiration yet again!
You've never seen Kyle Toth and Batman in the same room together;I rest my case.
Hahahaha
+Filmgeek913 Yes, the two ball stands hold the secret compartment closed.
+Filmgeek913 coheed.
Impressive. That was obviously a ton of work, but the attention to detail really paid off. I particularly like the way you blended the two wood species
Seriously cannot believe your wearing long sleeves around a lathe, please stop that bad habit. Ive seen too many mangled bodies wrapped around those.
Yeah Its bad but it happens sometimes
here in my city once a guy got his arm stuck because of the long sleeves.. now he has only one arm
JMGRICH
As a non native English speaker what you meant to say is you're. it's quite simple, "you're" is short for "you are" and your is referring to something that is from you.
Sorry for being grammar nazi :-S
REALLY STUPID ANSWER... you should say thank you. may be in 10 years thanks for this gay you will have still both arms. a.h.
I couldn't have even fathomed how a person would have taken the boards you started with and turned in into something so different. This was a blast to watch! :)
can someone please tell me why in the hell anyone would make a giant donut for beavers?
Beavers gotta eat!
+Kyle Toth
You are an artist
you can tell that this took forever to make. adding the camera work and editing, this whole video is a work of art, not just the piece itself. i subscribed, thanks for inspiring!
It was awesome until you added those ridiculous ball feet.
Thanks!
+Kyle Toth I don't hate those "feet", but I think is better without them. Question; How more difficult it would be to build an oval torus?
True. They didn't go with the piece. Perhaps a concave plank at the bottom would have been better and you wouldn't had to make holes to that gorgeous piece.
True. They didn't go with the piece. Perhaps a concave plank at the bottom would have been better and you wouldn't had to make holes to that gorgeous piece.
+Kuddos Feher It would be a lot harder. It would have to be carved and sculpted by hand. I wouldn't be able to turn it
2 years on I find this. So glad I did. It's a great peice of art. Nice skills man.
This is absolutely amazing. I just bought a lathe recently, i'm definitely going to give this a shot. Amazing work, you've got a heck of a talent!
That's a crazy amount of segmented work. Not sure I would want to take on that project. It is a very cool piece and looks amazing. Well done Kyle,
What a great build. It must've been nerve wrecking.
Kyle, you are brilliant! Loved the techniques you used to secure it while on the lathe.
Even with the organization structure you used a ton of awesome work!
When I realized how you were building this.... My jaw dropped. Such a cool project.
MAN this is too much! crazy in every step! loved the jigs and the process as well as the final result. incredible.
Probably the best woodworker on youtube
This is such incredible work Kyle, really inspiring.
The planer shot is incredible from inside nice job
No Way!!!! That is epic what an amazing piece, by far the best turning piece I've seen on RUclips
Man, that turned out SOOOO good. Love the wood coloration dithered pattern
That planing on an angled board was genius!
an enormous amount of work and fabulous result.
Well done! I love the juxtaposition of the simple form (though not so simple execution!) with the seemingly countless segments. Great video production too.
I have goosebumps and shed a small tear. This... This... is beautiful.
Now your making me cry ha. Thanks!
Dude, you are the Wayne Gretzky of woodworking. Awesome.
I love that guy! I'll take it
I like how the finished bottom part looks with the swirly pattern.
I loved the FPV, putting a camera on the work pieces was awesome!
Amazing! The math & accuracy alone to get the segments to complete the circle makes my head hurt. Genius glue-up too. Thanks
NOW that's what I call perseverance baby!!! What a piece. The Divine Architect would be proud.
Well shot and cut, too.
That is a wonderful piece of craftsmanship, you should be proud
Wow that's some amazing woodworking ! I love the ingenuity to achive the result !
Oh, my stars and garters! That is both beautiful and impressive!
That is simply the most amazing turning project I've ever seen. Well done!
Thanks!
This is by far the best woodworking video I've seen in a very long time!!!! Such a piece of art!!!!! Thanks for sharing your process with us!
Well thank you!
This video is a classic! I still have that handplane you gave me that I was restoring in the beginning of the video. It was my first one!
Wow this is a truly inspirational video to watch and given all the various techniques you use i must say that you seem like a very intelligent person! Thank you for the wonderful "zen" like experience i got from watching this
And that's the ART! Kyle- you nailed it!
You're really talented, wish I had the skill and patience to do something like this
Wow, I saw the thumbnail and exclaimed "what? How in the...?!" but you did a good job of showing it all... Excellent work
working on a lathe with your long sleeves so close. Much wow, so clever, such safety
well he didnt die
+mike gager yet
Good God man, I've seen 3 of your videos so far and am floored more and more with each one I watch. You are a very talented mo-fo. keep it up, you inspiring to watch and thanks for posting them.

Autocad ?
I don't know how anyone could thumbs down this video... Great work! Looks like it was a fun project
Incredible and fascinating! Impressive problem solving, 90% of the video i was wondering how you were going to do the next step.
This was one of the coolest things I have ever seen! Excellent work! It looks beautiful.
