    No one claimed Mysore Pak is Tamil,Telugu,Tulu or Malayalam....all know it's from Mysore..the Tamil connection is Sri Krishna Sweets from Coimbatore made it popular here in Hyderabad..

    We Tamil never ever claimed Mysore Pak is our dish. But some people unnecessary make unwarranted comments as Tamil claim everything as ours. We know what belongs to whom and we have plenty to claim as ours. No need to claims others glories.

    in 1936 MAHATMA GANDHI came to Mysore and called Mysore as RAMA RAJYA .. Nalwadi Krishnaraja wodeyar is epitome of excellent governance - Schools , Colleges , Resreasch instrittuions ( IISc) , Dams ( KRS ) , Steel Fatorry ( Badravati Steel FActory ) and many more development he did in small span of some 20 years. he is simply great personality -- Whole of India should learn about NALWADI KRISHNARAJA WODEYER through school text books .. You will certainly respect Mysore Kingdom - even STATE BANK OF MYSORE ( Which was called MYSORE BANK before 1947) is also he only started -- SIR M VISHSHRAYYA was Diwan in Nalwadi Krishranaraja Wodoyer time

      You say whatever you want, in reality mysore pak is originated in Indus Valley by Dravidian and brought to Tamil Nadu by them. The sangam literature is wrote while relishing plates of it.....
      Infact 'pak' in mysore pak is tribute to Pakistan that have Indus valley ruins today and this further strengthens my theory.

      3. Tirunelveli Halwa
      4. Kerala halwa
      etc.
      I have never heard of a tamilian claiming Mysore paka as of Tamil origin.

    The problem
    Here is that, most people in India won’t know that something called Kannada or Karnataka exists which is unique on it’s own. Besides all this, they change all original names and pronunciations too. Such as Paaka, Dosé, Vadé, Saaru, Rasa etc. And more irritating is that the Kannadigas themselves intend to use the modified names rather than the originals which are unique to Kannada. Sad.

    please note that Coimbatore from where Mysore Pak had become 'Mysorepa' was a part of Mysore kingdom until the British defeated Tipu sultan and British rule was established from the late 18th century. so Coimbatore has a very good Mysore Pa connection..

    I am just appreciating the huge live edge table, because I am not aware of any controversy about Mysooru pak's origin. May be the northIndians thought it was Madrasi, because for them anything south of Pune is Madrasi. I haven't come across any Tamilian claiming that dish as theirs.

    South Indians means all are not Tamilians. We Kannadigas also exists in the peninsula. We are proud of our Mysuru Pak. Karnataka is also the South Indian state. We gave a very rich history like any other parts of india. So we Proud Kannafigas are also South Indians.

    Best Mysore Pagu is it is just hard and we need to bite into it to break. But the worst is a goo created by Krishna Sweets and twist the name to "Mysore Pa" and it melts like butter. And people going ga ga over it. Everyone praise it sky high and every other sweet shop chain follow to churn out same goo and call it Mysore Pak.
    One day in another chain of sweet shop in Trichi, they had labelled same kind of goo labelled as Mysore Pak. When I remarked this goo is not traditional Mysore Pak, he brought my attention to another display in his window which looked like our traditional Mysore Pak. He called it something like 'Hard' Mysore Pak.

    Paka means sugar and water boiled to a point it forms thin gel like kind so it's ready for any powder to put in... So it was Mysore Paka, then people to people called it Pak.

    Guru Sweet (Mysuru), founders great Grand Father was the cook who invented Mysore Pak.
    Guru sweets 1st shop is s tiny corner shop in Mysuru.
    However, Mahalakshmi sweets (Mysuru) makes rhe best Mysore Pak.

      There is no ingredient name involved in Chakkali and Murukku..
      Chakkali got its name from Chakkara..
      And Murukku meaning "Twisted" or "to twist" in Tamil they used to call it as "Arisi Murukku" = Rice Twisted Recipe..

    Even in case of Idli also ....the same has happened ..
    Basically ....urudu dal(ಉರುದು‌ (ಉದ್ದು)ಬೇಳೆ ...being a Kannada name since ages but ....people believed ....urad dal from ulundu " Tamil ....again proved malicious

    Its not paakka, its paahu, Paahu means the sweet/jaggery. Jaggery is Paahu, because its soft form unsplittable/breakable.

    Some says a different story. It is massoor , besan+ paka, syrup. The name of that cook/ chef is kakasura. Now his grandsons running a sweetmeat shop'Guru seeets' at the corner of the devaraja market in Mysore. Tasty, pure ghee Mysore Pak is nice there.

    True. Mysore Pak was created by Sri Madappa the chief sweet chef of King of Mysore Sri Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar.
    Today the family runs Guru sweet mart in Mysore and elsewhere.
    I happened to be a classmate both Guru & Kumar the great grandsons of Chief Chef Sri Madappa.
