glad to see a video from someone who wants to put the machine to use after they get it going, most just want to do minimal work and flip it. Looking forward to watching, I'm also fixing up my own bobcat 7753, so I also pick up tips and tricks.

I have a 246C and told it's a 2010. It has the hand throttle and foot pedal and from there it's no frills whatsoever but strong machine.

I’ve had 1999 cat 246 two speed since it was New and have never had any engine problems. And I am ashamed to say we were slow to change oil. But we do grease regularly and yes, we have been changing oil every three months now. The only thing we’ve had go wrong with this machine was the passenger the right side as you sit in the seat drive gear. And then we had to have caterpillar flush the entire hydraulic reservoir because the bearing sent shards of metal into the hydraulic tank according to them. Other than that we have replaced an alternator and some hydraulic hoses.

Where are you located? I’m in eastern Iowa and have a complete perking 236 that I believe is the same motor. Don’t know the condition (never heard it run) but it just sits in my shop I’d sell it to you for a reasonable price.

Just needs a block ..also check the price for a mitsubishi s4sd block .they're both mitsubishi but cat parts are more expensive..also do you have any spare parts you'd like to get rid of. I live in barbados and parts are very hard to get here unless they're new

I’m assuming that has a “Cat” Perkins? Those engines are reasonably priced as a complete engine online.

Watched a little farther, heard it wasn’t. I’d try to swap a Perkins in if possible

Agreed. This engine is a 3044c Mitsubishi. We'll see what happens. Wouldn't mind a Perkins at all. Seems like these Cats had several different engine makes and models they used.

Depending on what your gonna use that lil kitteh cat for you might want to think about foam filling your tires ...never worry about flats on it ...especially if you have a rough terrain where you would be using it

Not planning on using it for any rough work, just as a second skid steer to help fill in around the farm should my main one go down or something. That being said though, I am for sure going to be foam filling the tires as I don't want the hassle of flat tires. Skid steers I swear are nail magnets!
