So pleased to see this footage of Paul at CAAS 2006. I had never seen this before today and so humbled that Paul mentions me. He was a real talent and sadly missed. Best wishes, Trevor Rabey
That was the first year I attended CAAS and finally met Paul in person. He treated me like we'd been friends for years. I feel blessed to have known him.
Never saw a guy who wanted to be Chet Atkins so bad as Paul. There was only 1 Chet and he is dead. Sorry, Paul! Also, Reed ruined Chet's style with that herky-jerky finger peddling picking and made it so that Chet stopped studying and producing his own music and advancing himself.
I don't see him as wanting to be Chet Atkins at all. But I think he saw himself as the chief curator of all things related to Chet and his style of playing. Nothing wrong with that....he was Chet's right-hand man for years and accumulated more knowledge about him than anyone. Chet admired the heck out of Jerry Reed and recorded so many of Jerry's compositions.
Comment from a jerk! Not only you are disrespectful and ignorant with misleading information. You don't belong to the music world at all you miserable little lady! Are you the fraud David Paul?
I know Paul said he didnt want it on youtube but I have this stuff and it needs to be seen and not forgotten!

I inherited some of this man’s gear. An echoplex that Chet gave to him in 84’ amongst other things. 😃

This is great, thank you so much!😊
Big Paul Yandell 😊
What's the name of the tune Paul starts playing at 8 minutes in?
It’s “Humoresque” written by Antonín Dvořák but based on Chet Atkins’ arrangement from the 1950’s.
@@hendriksibma Thanks.
