Ouch for the fine. Unfair that the speeds signs are not in place causing a disadvantage for tourists. Be careful with the cats on dashboard. UK insures would not pay out if an accident was caused by one jumping into drivers lap. I think it's a £5000 fine in the UK. Another ouch 😅
After looking into the 50km/h bridge law and asking some locals, we couldn't find any trace of such a rule. So we are not sure if we got a bit scammed, the pink slip was written in Greek so no one could read it... they could have put anything 😅 Luckily the cats stay put when driving and don't disturb the driver, we are quite lucky with them being so chill ☺️
No such rule exists that says: the speed limit on bridges is: 50. There should be a clarly visible sign when speed limits are changing otherwise you should obey the national speed limits. This action was a good representation of greek corruption and not respecting common EU rules.
Yeah, that's what we thought since there was a local in front doing the same speed as us, though not sure how we could have got out of the fine without a lot of paperwork and translators.
