By gum. I wish I’d had accurate layout plans when we laid out our Ducato. We download some basic dimension drawings but it’s the little measurements that are so important.
Yep, the devil is in the detail 😂. Personally we couldn't do our big rig van build without the scale sketches, it saved us so much money being able to plan more accurately.
I'm gonna suggest something mavric...... If you removed the vertical stiffeners you could bond on one big piece of XPS foam and gain back the stiffness all while saving weight. Might not work for every van, but in this one it looks like there not doing much other than taking the wobble out of the large panel sides.
It was exciting to see this video come into my stream in the interior of British Columbia Canada !!! My Covid project was converting a Dodge Promaster van which I think is the same as your Boxer. When the time comes I would invite you to look at the roof rack and clip system I designed - all 10 of my clips were $ 13.44 Canadian total and have been copied in the UK by a number of builders. I don't want to post a link here would be happy to save you the hunt if want !!! Looking forward to watching your build ......... Cheers Dave
Yes, the pro master is a copy of the Boxer, maybe with a few changes but overall is the same - we saw the roof rack mounting holes on the roof on this van, with our last co version we just bolted unistrut to these holes then then stiff to the unistrut, I would be interested to see what you have? You can email us hello@freedom-strider.com if you wanted to show us more in private 😀
Watched you guys during your last van build.mines all done now had some great times in it so far.think ill do another but without shower as I aint used it yet 😂 waisted space.good luck guys
We learn so much during our first builds, it's hard not to do another one. Our shower, has been in use, and it's great to be off grid in that way - it is one of our bulk storage areas as well 😀... though we have no big garage so it kind of balances out. Showers are a tricky topic (I would always have some shower capability... in some form... For myself) but if your experience, for you, says no, then you don't need a shower.
