Just FYI, the TABs seem like the chord changes all happen on beat 4, it was difficult for me to read it as I would expect the chord changes to fall on beat 1. Not sure if this was a mistake.
I noticed something funny that I think is universal for us guitar players, there’s this moment when we finish playing a composition or even just practicing where when we stop , there’s this moment when we snap back into real time and we all do this weird kind of head nod thing 😂 Playing definitely is an out of body experience! Am I right or am I right?!
It’s so cool that you can just grab a guitar and come up with something like this on the spot. I’m sure tabbing took the longest 😉 Happy Birthday to Eric! 💕
Brian it’s impossible to communicate to you just how much you mean to us out here. And how you have had such a positive impact on so many. You have literally brought so much joy to lives with your talent and passion, only eternity will be able to reveal the immeasurable blessings you have blessed this world with.THANK YOU BRIAN. If I was able I would support you financially Iam in debt to you now and what you have provided over time is really priceless “ you can’t put a monetary value on what you have done “ you reap what you sow and you will reap blessings for the rest of your life. ❤️🎸 one day, I believe things will change for me and I will be able to get another guitar and I will practice and be able to enjoy the knowledge you share, and I will do my best to help someone else. It’s truly much better to give than to receive! I hope to someday be able to be a blessing to you financially. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
So glad I became a member of active melody! This freebies are awesome, that being said you too should become a member too. Brian's playing an teaching style are 2nd to none
I haven't forgotten about you Brian. Been outa sorts for a couple years. Divorce, remarriage, a couple surgeries, moving. About to get back to semi normal. I was a member for a couple yrs & loved it. Brian is a huge Clapton fan, I remember when he bought one of his guitars. Great lesson, as always 👍🏼
The nuance to your playing is becoming masterful ! Been watching for years and it’s always awesome to see someone so good improve so much ! I suppose you never stop learning 😎
Brian, every time I watch one of your videos I always walk away with a new piece of knowledge that inspires me to keep pushing myself. Thank you for that!
Great! Thank you very much! I'm a 60 years old man from Brazil and I love blues and want to learn how to play it. And you are a great teacher! Thank you very much!
Awesome video man. I’ve been literally running through your videos multiple times until I believe I understand the lesson points to be made. You’re an awesome fellow and quite the individual and I appreciate you taking your time for all these years. I thank you. I had a guitar instructor for about a year when I was twelve and he just basically asked me what lick or song I wanted to learn. Horrible. I kept playing and going through all sorts of guitars like I was a collector till probably 24. Then found myself going six years without even playing or owning a guitar. Hard times. But now Im 30 and I just bought a 61 SG and a vintage 00018 and I’m ready to get back into it
I've been playing variations of 12 bar blues in E using Travis style picking for years. This lesson has opened up a whole new way of looking at it. I can't wait to get home to try it out. Thanks so much for bumping this old picker out of a rut. With this and many of your other lessons, I've experienced a renaissance late in life that is profoundly refreshing. Thanks so much, Brian. I'd recommend Active Melody without hesitation to any and all lifetime students of the most beautiful musical instrument on the planet!
Brian you just keep getting better at playing and teaching. The notation on your videos is awesome. You continue to up the value of your product. Thanks.
I must admit this is my favorite video of all time from you!!! I watched like at least 8 of your videos in the last week wanting to know more about lead, well about over an hour ago I put this video on pause at 5:40 seconds... I am fricken playing the blues now!!!! My fingers just took off gosh why couldn't I learn this 15 years ago grr!!!! I'm just playing three chords with it using E G A.. Never knew I could do this solo! When I go into the solo I found just starting off using the B string on the 8th fret does wonders not even using the E string on 7th at all.. it goes great bending with it on the 9th fret on G string once I really get into action with the music.. I fricken love this!! Thanks a million for real!!! Reminds me of Stevie Ray a bunch!! Wish I could thank you in person but a huge shout out out of Dubuque Iowa for your awesome teachings!!
I love your taste in music and the lessons are great. I'm always overwhelmed the first time you play a new tune but you break it down to bite sized pieces that I understand. thank you from a future member.
Hey it's my Birthday too, yep 30th March for me too, 1949 born in Boorowa NSW. But! I am more of a Bloomfield, Greenbaum (Peter Green),H Sumlin etc type of player & Ducati motorcycle rider still. love your lessons although. Greetings from Australia.
Big Clapton fan here. Thank you for this timely composition. It just sounds GOOD! Bless you, Brian. Key of E- in step. The mic-ing of your guitar sounds great.
Couldnt teach it any better. Love your references to things you already know. Excellent. Only had watch it once. Thats how well it sunk in and was explained
This is great! Ive played many of these licks, but consolidating like this was really helpful. And the Tbone chord was new to me, thanks! I do add a dead thumb bass to all of this, muted top E, then A at the change, I think it adds a lot to the overall sound. Great lesson!
Wish there was a 'super like' button. So awesome. I've probably played this 50 times and am finally starting to get it down. I'll sign up for your classes after I get done with the ones that I'm taking now. :)
When I first watched this I was thinking it would take me months to learn this. I month later and I could actually play the chords and scales. Great feeling!
Brian I am a big fan of E.C. and this arrangement has some signature licks included. Thank you for your time and effort in composing and sharing your work 👍
wow thank you soo much, i've been listening a few days ago to eric claptons drifting Blues, it was almost the same i wanted that playstyle thanks alot although i knew the most just by listening i always learn something new from you... love from vienna city
0:27 right after this, there’s a subtle thing you do with the E7 chord before you go into the A that wasn’t explained. (i figured it out haha) thank you as always!!
Yes Clapton was a gateway into learning this style of music like Big Bill, Robert Johnson..from Johnson you realise 10 years before his recordings there were the guys who influenced him like kokomo Arnold, Son house, Willie Brown, Lonnie Johnson, skip james etc etc. Blues seems to be a music where you hear another player, take something you like and put your own on it..in that spirit I’m going to cop a few of your licks ;) theres a couple of nice ones there..

Loved this lesson! BTW-is that a ooo-21 you’re playing there? Great sound!

Did he do some tabs on this?
@@dmyerstc55 Yes, they show up on the screen within the lesson.
Okay thanks. I had hoped he had some on his site that I could print. Regardless I will work it from the video

Thanks. I’m transitioning from metal/grunge to bluesy acoustic/Strat playing. This channel is the most helpful I’ve found.
You will be able to do grunge and metal better now if you do play those.

That guitar's tone is gorgeous.
I am glad people asperate Brian's playing and teaching. I am sure he learned a lot of it the hard way.
Some good guitar teachers on RUclips but I find I share Brian’s musical sensibilities and prefer his approach to the music. Bravo Brian and thank you.

Very good love this sort of playing laid back sitting in the evening sun while having a beer
Perfectly described
Lol “I’ll just have a beer while playing guitar” …yeah right! You need two hands for guitar!!!
Or a puff cheers!
