Surprisingly he was able to get a vein! Former IV fent addict here, 10 months clean, and I agree 100%. It was horrible having to go to the hospital and even the picc team using ultrasounds couldn't find a good vein. It's horrible, don't abuse your veins.
I’m not a drug addict but my veins are still hard to find apparently and I’ve had the displeasure of being poked over and over while laying down so I don’t pass out and I’m just crying waiting for it to all be over…
I had a ton of blood work done when I was sick with gallbladder failure. My veins collapsed constantly and my arms were always bruised. I now have scar tissue that makes blood draws very hard. My mother was an IV addict and just seeing my arms look like that was traumatic. I felt gross and people were side eyeing me and asking if I was using. I’ve had numerous IV treatments due to hospitalizations. I’ve had numerous blown veins & infiltrations of caustic meds. My last hospitalization I was told after the 6th try that finally found a patent vein, that I would need a central line, probably an implanted permanent one. I was only 55 at the time.😳
I was debating posting about the same thing - permanently scarred veins from long term chemo treatments. Not fun!! Fortunately I didn't need a central line. Sending virtual hugs to you. 💗💓
If you want vitamins directly into the bloodstream without needles look at sublingual (specifically formulated ingredients that are able to be absorbed by the skin of the mouth) or patches (vitamins in a skin patch that is absorbed through the skin).

IV therapy should be reserved for fluids/ medications that can’t be given orally. As a nurse and certified wound/ ostomy/ continence nurse w years of pain management and hospice experience, please take hydration/ medications/ nutrition by mouth if you’re able (and be grateful you have a healthy digestive system).
9:18 I already have to deal with some fucked up veins in certain places at only 16 due to chemotherapy as a baby. Guys you do NOT want to be a hard stick. For a while I had to go in for treatment due to the aftermath of the cancer that involved putting in an IV for anesthesia. It sucks. It especially sucks when you’re told that the doc knows best when they try to place an IV in a place where you know there’s a lot of damage to the veins (for me it’s on the back of my hands) and they try to stick it in a couple of times but nobody will listen when you say to try another spot because you know that they won’t get an IV in where they are trying to put one in. At the hospital I went to for a while for those treatments for the aftermath of the cancer I had they have to bring in a “procedure team” that has an ultrasound that they use to find good veins. So guys, DON’T get fucking IVs when you don’t need them.
@@crabcakes7784 Yeah luckily I havent had to have any IVs put in for well over 1.5 years. Luckily blood draws don't seem to be as bad (I had one a few months ago after I passed out one time. I was fine, it was just a vasovagal episode that happened due to stress) as they use way smaller needles and the quality of veins doesn't seem to matter as much
So many doctors are up their own ass riding a high horse thinking they are smarter than everyone else. I’ve seen that attitude too unfortunately Makes me so angry 🤬 I’m sorry you had to deal with that I hope you’re doing well now 💜
People getting IVs for no real reason?? No. I never injected, but do have “track” scars from weeks of IV meds/support in multiple drug/alcohol detox admissions that make me look like a heroin addict anyway. This is a minor thing and I don’t even like that!
I have nine years experience in injecting PRP into the face. I absolutely love it, it is one of the best and most natural ways to slow down the aging process.
As a person dependent on TPN, with a central line, I deal with significant shortages of Multi-Vitamins and other crucial elements. The fact that these IVs are getting popular is so alarming!
@@DoctorYoun I agree it is important to give blood especially for O - people like me. I used to give every 8 weeks but for me that was too much and I developed anemia. For the past 15 years have been giving twice a year (except during my two pregnancies). The last three times I went to donate they had trouble finding a vein and stabbed me two or three times. I'm just wondering if maybe I've done enough and I should pass the Baton to someone else.
Occasionally having a needle inserted will not cause enough damage, unlike inserting needles 4-8 times a day for years will certainly do damage. My reference materials? My own badly scarred inner arm veins. After 10 years of abuse. Please continue to donate! I only wish I could.
I have really crooked and rolly veins. I had ONE pretty good vein. And I wasted it selling plasma in college. Now I have several autoimmune conditions and need my labs done every three months...they have to get really creative
I have to agree about the IV therapy creating unnecessary scar tissue in the veins. I am a regular blood and platelet donor and along the way, I built up enough scar tissue in my right arm that it restricts blood flow into the needle. As a result, I'm only able to donate through my left arm.
Here in VA, my skin is the best in the summer because of the humidity. Much worse in the winter ! My dermatitis (eczema) always clears up in the summer! 🎉
I have to get monthly IV infusions for ankylosing spondylitis. I'm legitimately concerned about the scar tissue building up that will make it more and more difficult to find access points. But man, some of these nurses are incredible. There have been one or two times when I've wanted to take a picture of the placement because I had never seen someone thread an IV tube through that vein without blowing it. But yeah, don't do unnecessary IVs. With me, the benefits have been incredible, and outweigh the risks of IV access by miles.
Yes, I def agree! I have Crohn’s and have had to spends months at a time in the hospital , multiple IVs at a time w treatments such as steroids+, TPN (nutrition), LRs, blood transfusions, labs drawn and so many meds etc.. I’ve had multiple bowel resections, illeostemy & have to do long bowel rests to let my bowels heal & they have not been able to get an iv on me w out ultrasound for 10+ years and even that doesn’t always work, I’ve had a port in for a long time and that has really saved me to be able to have fluids & tpn at home, iv antibiotics, I get my blood drawn from the port too But if I hadn’t had all those ivs damage my veins I wouldn’t have this issue
I completely agree with not having a lot of veins used too much. I’ve had well over 130 surgeries and I have only 3 veins that are accessible now. I’ve also had dozens of litres of IV fluids as well. Now I have only two veins left that can be used. Even those don’t last very long.
I tried PRP after my rotatorcuff surgery. I can't say it was effective for anything other than possibly a slightly faster recovery. My normal orthopedic surgeon was not positive toward it, and I had to ask another one to try it. It was also not covered by my insurance since it was considered still experimental.
Every last one of these is nightmare fuel. Electively having someone just mess around *in* my face...(Shudder) is terrifying. I understand if you've had a serious injury to your face but rolling the die with a medical outcome that's not needed? Super scary!!
I got PRP injections in my knees and I was able to run and squat again two weeks later. I believe it’s a miracle treatment. I wouldn’t mind getting it done to my face. I’m a firm believer in the effectiveness of PRP.
I tried an IV therapy when they first started, i stay dehydrated often and had the opportunity to try it for like $20. But i have trouble getting stuck though and i realized that I really wasn't getting more benefit then anything else
My veins have always been awful. I also had severe hyperemesis and had a PICC line the last 4 months of my pregnancy because of it. Made my veins even worse. They had to go into my neck once which FREAKED ME OUT.
I had carboxy treatment for loose abdominal skin and streach marks. And it did help a lot, my skin looked really good. But the results lasted only for 3 months. So i don't recomend it because it is expensive and it doesn't last. I also had it under my eyes for dark cercles but it didn't make a big difference
I was about to say Dr. Youn the vampire facial with the plasma gold added on after has done wonders on my neck and face .. but good to know that you believe in that procedure at least ✨👍🏼
I have epilepsy and I have to have bloodwork done often as well as a MRI every six months. I only have one really good vein in my left arm. You can see all the needle holes from years of needles, but it is very hard for phlebotomists to get through the scar tissue.
If you are reading this there’s a reason……No matter how good or bad you have it,wake up each day thankful for your life.Someone somewhere else is desperately fighting for theirs ❤️🇧🇸
First, my condolences on the loss of your grandmother. I know she felt how much you loved her. I appreciate your videos for truthful information. I’m 61 and have been dealing with a debilitating illness so I try to do what is best for my skin. Ever since young adulthood, I’ve worn sunscreen on my face just because I burn easily. And I’ve recently started using a combination of products with retinol, hyalouronic acid, niacinamide, and good moisturizers. I use primarily Cerave and Cetaphil products. I was recently mistaken for a thirty year old. And as for IV therapy: I have to go in every two to four weeks for pain management procedures or surgeries. Each time, I have to have an IV for anesthesia. I can attest to the scarring. And they aren’t allowed to use my biggest veins because those are for double unit blood donations every 16 weeks, since I have a very rare blood type that also happens to be Rh negative, making it more rare. And scars are starting to become an issue. Since I was a critical care/ER nurse for decades, I know some ways to work around this but it isn’t fun.
About the IV thing...what about when you donate blood or plasma? Will the problem still be the same? How often can you donate without the risk to your future health needs?
NGL, when you started about vampire treatments I was like "uh oh" because I contemplated getting the dentist to make my incisors ever so slightly pointed. Weird, I know. And then I found out there's even weirder stuff going on under that name.
I had naturally very pointed incisors and was made fun at school where I was called the vampire. I did not dare to smile to avoid showing them. My mil even told me 'when are you going to fix those'. Eventually, I had them removed and wore braces to fill the gaps at the grand old age of 36. Best thing I have ever done.
The veins in my left arm got wrecked to hell and back from chemotherapy and it took them five tries just to stick me at my final chemo treatment. Docs still have trouble finding a vein there for drawing blood for lab tests. Not to mention that the insertion of IVs in general is just so uncomfortable. Why subject yourself to that just for vitamins instead of just eating a proper diet?
I just wanted to reply and share my complete agreement regarding IV therapies!! As someone who has had a central line for the past 4 years, I can't imagine willingly destroying vein access with scar tissue. I had so many PIV's (weekly for months) before my first PICC and eventually a port. It's just beyond my comprehension as to why someone would choose to do this.
I cannot tell you how wonderful it is to hear a medical professional just straight-up say something is “stupid”. God, it’s so hard when you have to talk to people like “Well, there is no evidence to support this claim” and what you WANT to say is “Sir, that is the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard.”
What about PRP for eyebrow hair growth? I got a treatment of 3 rounds of PRP in 2021 from August to October 1 every month for 3 months. It evened out my skin tone, yet I did not do much else. Then 2 years later, I noticed my eyebrows are back. I have been growing out my eyebrows for over 10 years. Anywho, would love your opinion on PRP for hair loss? I really like your videos. I am an esthetician in California. Some clients ask me about skin lightening in their intimate parts, I was eyeballing your Kojic Acid product. It got me excited. Looking forward to checking out the ingredients of your new skincare line. :)Thank you :)
So i did 3 of PRGF treatments on face and love it, one surgeon told me that PRP is waste of money becuse you get this placebo effect...I think that there is a big difference between PRP vs PRGF vs PRF or do you think that all tree are waste of money?
i had to have a central line put in (nothing else to do, my veins are just naturally really deep and thin, and the IV kept getting clogged too) and lemme tell you not only is it NOT a fun procedure but very expensive. it also left a small scar and the bruise took a rly long time to heal. i dont mind it but if youre self conscious about scars avoid it if you can!
I recently ran across Jeffery Star’s video of having filler removed from his upper lip. The worst part was the original doctor lied to him about using silicone 😮
I'm 34 and already got loads of IV's due to severe health issues. So, it was necessay, but yes, it's already often hard for doctors to find a good IV, because lots of them are so hard because of scar tissue..
Come and live in FL. Summer is the time of the month where my skin is its plumpest and most hydrated due to the humidity and heat around here. It is the only time of the year my eczema plaques on my skin actually disappear.
I had a friend that abused their veins for years. Even though they stopped doing that, now that they're elderly they've had to get IVs in their groin, and even their feet.
Oh geez, I'm supposed to be getting IV infusions (can't remember what's in them) by a Naturopath recommended by my Doctor at the pain care clinic I go to; she said it'll help with my fibromyalgia symptoms. I already have multiple bumps that look like warts on the back of my hands just from IV given to me during the many surgeries I've had in my life. I guess I'm going to pass on the Naturopathic IV infusions. 😢

Dr. Youn! So I’ve been looking at getting PRP for my deep under eye troughs! I was told by my medspa that it would be a better idea then filler. What do you find are the best treatments for naturally deep eye troughs?
Sir,is it possible to reversed lip repositioning surgery? I have a gummy smile and had done this lip repositioning surgery but I don't like the result 🙏
The IV thing is so true. I get infusions for autoimmune disease and am on 48 but require a port to get my IV infusions because my veins no longer hold an IV. Too young to have these issues!
Excellent video. I’ll continue to use my veins only for the infusion therapy I get for my RA and leave all of that other nonsense at the buffet. I am wondering though, could you do a video about eye lifts and when they realistically should be used therapeutically? I know that my stepmom had her eyelid lift because hers drooped to the point that her eye doctor said they were beginning to impair her vision. How much is just “too bad, you have hooded eyelids” and “nope, you need them lifted so that your eyes fully open”?
It is a very new therapy. It does seem to help promote healing in some cases. No way to tell if it would help you. If you can afford it, you will have to make your own decision to try or not.
I have blood test like every year for medical reasons Is okay to have blood test Sometimes i have to have go and have more during same time to double check my results Often the first time they come back wrong I don't know why once they tested the same thing 3 times Fyi I have kidney liver and thyroid test done Im on alot medication and i have had thyroid issues in the past
Hi Dr. Youn, i hope i will get some advices from you. Will PRF work for chubby cheeks? I cheeks are so thin because I'm very skinny. I wanna fo Juverderm filler but some DR said filler never goes away. After 10 years quitting filler, you still see filler in your body with MRI. I'm very worried about filler. I don't want my skin saggy more than normal people when i get older because of filler

@@LotusesGalaxyOcean b12 had been discontinued. You can look it up. Cool if they’ve returned. If you read my comment you will see that I said it was the (fake) stem cell patches that brought on psychosis.
Yes yes yes.
I’m sorry you had to go through that. I hope you’re doing better now!
I love your videos so much. I always learn so much while watching.
As a person dependent on TPN, with a central line, I deal with significant shortages of Multi-Vitamins and other crucial elements. The fact that these IVs are getting popular is so alarming!
What a doctor! Blessings and thank you
I was contemplating iv therapy and now i’ll definitely stay away from them, thank you so much!
As always, Dr. Youn, you present things clearly and with points, so we can make better decisions. Thank you!
As someone that works with PRP, what you said is absolutely correct!
My favorite informative dr. Aways spot on,and full of valuable information. ❤
Dr. Youn your skin looks wonderful!!
I love your honesty and just saying it how it is!
I love your videos so much! You're a beacon of beauty and brilliance in all too commonly dreary and ugly world
I wish I watched you before I got surgery. Now I have to be strong about it and hope for the best.
Wow I never thought about an IV causing trauma to the veins and arteries before. It's making me rethink wanting to give blood regularly.
I wouldn’t discourage you from giving blood because it’s so helpful for someone!
Thank you Dr.Youn.I had a very bad experience for that procedure.
Thank you. For the info ❤
Hi Dr. Youn. I'm curious about your thoughts on injecting PRF instead of PRP. Do you also feel PRF is a waste of money?
Dr Youn, how about platelet rich fibrin or PRF? Does it have evidenced efficacy especially for undereye rejuvenation vis-s-vis say Nucleofill?
I have to agree about the IV therapy creating unnecessary scar tissue in the veins. I am a regular blood and platelet donor and along the way, I built up enough scar tissue in my right arm that it restricts blood flow into the needle. As a result, I'm only able to donate through my left arm.
Here in VA, my skin is the best in the summer because of the humidity. Much worse in the winter ! My dermatitis (eczema) always clears up in the summer! 🎉
I like the winter to dry my skin out. 😊
@@DopamineDecor Why?
@@absatwell8163they probably have oily skin
Same here!
I’ve had multiple bowel resections, illeostemy & have to do long bowel rests to let my bowels heal & they have not been able to get an iv on me w out ultrasound for 10+ years and even that doesn’t always work, I’ve had a port in for a long time and that has really saved me to be able to have fluids & tpn at home, iv antibiotics, I get my blood drawn from the port too
But if I hadn’t had all those ivs damage my veins I wouldn’t have this issue
TY Dr Youn👍 always look forward to ur videos & tiktok shorts😁✌
I got PRP injections in my knees and I was able to run and squat again two weeks later. I believe it’s a miracle treatment. I wouldn’t mind getting it done to my face. I’m a firm believer in the effectiveness of PRP.
It ruined a certian part of my body.
My friend is getting it done on her knees, she’s had great success with it.
I’m getting my second. It really improved the texture of my skin
Dr. Youn, what procedure you done on your face? Looks completely natural, neat and young looking.
I tried an IV therapy when they first started, i stay dehydrated often and had the opportunity to try it for like $20. But i have trouble getting stuck though and i realized that I really wasn't getting more benefit then anything else
That Shrek scene had me; love those inserts
My veins have always been awful. I also had severe hyperemesis and had a PICC line the last 4 months of my pregnancy because of it. Made my veins even worse. They had to go into my neck once which FREAKED ME OUT.
I worked for a chiro who didn't believe in a lot of his therapies, but he said he provided them because people would buy them.
What about PRP in combination with RF Microneedling? My Dr told me it helps heal things nicely with the PRP and enhance the effects.
Doc, you mentioned PRP and I wanted to know if you think PRP is good for facial injections? Is there proof that it helps build collagen?
I was about to say Dr. Youn the vampire facial with the plasma gold added on after has done wonders on my neck and face .. but good to know that you believe in that procedure at least ✨👍🏼
Thank you for your informative videos. Most appreciated!
Thank you, Dr. Youn.
Thank You Jesus
I’ve seen some horrendous fox eye lifts! Where the thread starts to be rejected.
I've got terrible icepick acne scars and I was saving up for a PRP needling facial. I might need to reconsider...
Hi how are you doing 😊
What do you think about prf for the under eyes and face?
you always talk me out of "beauty theripies" i will continue to eat well, sleep well, and use great skin care
Does a lesser version the IV scarring whenever blood is drawn for bloodwork or PRP/PRF?
Thoughts on PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin) treatments?
So i did 3 of PRGF treatments on face and love it, one surgeon told me that PRP is waste of money becuse you get this placebo effect...I think that there is a big difference between PRP vs PRGF vs PRF or do you think that all tree are waste of money?
hello doctor YOUN.
is the nose filling safe?
i had to have a central line put in (nothing else to do, my veins are just naturally really deep and thin, and the IV kept getting clogged too) and lemme tell you not only is it NOT a fun procedure but very expensive. it also left a small scar and the bruise took a rly long time to heal. i dont mind it but if youre self conscious about scars avoid it if you can!
I recently ran across Jeffery Star’s video of having filler removed from his upper lip. The worst part was the original doctor lied to him about using silicone 😮
Oh geez that’s terrible!
I'm 34 and already got loads of IV's due to severe health issues. So, it was necessay, but yes, it's already often hard for doctors to find a good IV, because lots of them are so hard because of scar tissue..
What about Sculptra for Under Eye?
Always great advice!
So much common sense....thank you Dr. YOUN.
I’m hoping PRP looking towards the future for my arthritis in multiple joints
I love your vids, and when I was watching them, my bf was like, “he’s a plastic surgeon, he’s already making bank and he’s making RUclips vids to make even more?!” I was like, ummm, but he helps people out with his vids
Actuàl question. As someone who has had many IV's but needs vitamin injections (crohn's) what vein should I use? That dr's dont need?
I’m never going to judge someone for getting whatever done,,…. But it’s not for me! 😂
Imo PRP is good and applicable for hair growth rather than facials or breast lift.
I don't like it when people commenting use acronyms for words. The accepted rule is spell it out once in the opening, then u can use the acronym throughout. That's if u want anyone it understand u.
Dr. Youn! So I’ve been looking at getting PRP for my deep under eye troughs! I was told by my medspa that it would be a better idea then filler. What do you find are the best treatments for naturally deep eye troughs?
Lower Blepharoplasty works but not for everyone. Acid fillers such as restylane or juvederm can be very effective too.
Sir,is it possible to reversed lip repositioning surgery? I have a gummy smile and had done this lip repositioning surgery but I don't like the result 🙏
great video thanks for the info
The IV thing is so true. I get infusions for autoimmune disease and am on 48 but require a port to get my IV infusions because my veins no longer hold an IV. Too young to have these issues!
Dear Doctor Youn Thank you for your kindness to explain about plastic surgeon. Love to listen to you all the time. May God Bless you always 🙏🙏🥰👼🧚♂️💪💕
Hi Lisa how are you doing 😊
My arm hurt while you were talkin IVs. I had great sites, 5days in the hospital destroyed them. Iv therapy is not a good time.
IV's treatment is very popular in Tibet. People sit around iin groups on the sidwalks having the treatment.
Carboxy whatver sounds like a good way to get an embolism
Hi Dr Yun.I have a degenerativ problem with my Achilles tendine, and the doctor want to infiltrate PRP.Do you think that it can work?
It is a very new therapy. It does seem to help promote healing in some cases. No way to tell if it would help you. If you can afford it, you will have to make your own decision to try or not.
I have blood test like every year for medical reasons
Is okay to have blood test
Sometimes i have to have go and have more during same time to double check my results
Often the first time they come back wrong
I don't know why once they tested the same thing 3 times
Fyi
I have kidney liver and thyroid test done
Im on alot medication and i have had thyroid issues in the past
