I'm sorry, but I learned long ago that having dark circles around the eyes has a side benefit of getting presumed sick and sent home just by showing up to work without makeup.
It's good to have a strategy! 😂 Someone was talking about the importance of knowing the colours that are right for you. She jokingly said that when you know which colours make you look sick, you can keep one shirt like that in your wardrobe and when you feel like being sent home from work, go makeup-less, and wear that shirt. Evil genius.
I feel like a big issue with lip lift is also the position of scar. Being under nose and above the lip looks like place that can easily get infected, and imagine you get a cold right after surgery or you have allergies... doesn't sound good. It's not easy to keep that area clean and especially not to move it. And scar at that place would be super visible if anything goes wrong. So, not worth of risk imo.
Hmmm I just had a basal, cell removed from that ares almost in my nostril. I only briefly heard about it getting infected. The prescribed muprinicin which is an antibiotic
A chill went up my spine when Dr. Youn started talking about the upper lip lift. A former coworker, late 50s at the time, had decided to have one. She was very diligent about doing her homework: researched the procedure, read reviews, found an excellent plastic surgeon whom she felt she could trust, etc. Unfortunately, even top-notch professionals can't necessarily predict their patients' physical responses to surgery. The scar under her nose was initially very neat and thin, and looked like it would be almost invisible once fully healed... but then she developed a keloid, which continued to grow at an alarming rate. (Imagine, if you will, an irregularly shaped plum under your nose.) Keloids are unpredictable and can be difficult to remove, since they're produced by the body's response to surgery or damage. They can also grow back and become worse if they're removed. It was an absolute nightmare for her. We eventually lost touch when I moved away from the area, but the poor woman had taken to wearing a surgical mask long before the advent of Covid-19.
thats so sad! I had an adverse reaction to coolscupting (highly under reported side effect called PAH) which caused me to me go from a size 8 before to a size 16. Its been a nightmare! Still working on getting the shady pharmacutiical company who makes it to pay out for lipo surgery.
@@teelesynclair5902 did you try silicone gel? It is not for everyone, but can be helpful. I also had a huge keloid scar on my chest, after 6 months of using it, it is almost invisible
My experience as a 75 yr person ,after you have passed on people feel safe to remark how strange plastic surgery made their friend look. Many said she just wasn't the familiar face of their treasured friend. Taking care of your skin is important but having the grace to age should not be scary. It is just another stage in a human life.
Underrated comment ^^ My Nana stayed all natural & was a gorgeous, recognizable, beautiful 87 year old. My mother tried to force a nose job on me my entire young adult life so I'd beva "better" model. My older sister is on her 4th nose & misses the one she was born with. I kept mine & am quite happy about that even though it's unflattering at particular angles. Oh well. It's from my dad.
Just got eye filler with Restyane done a couple months ago. A med spa recommended I do it (and was kind of pushy about it) but I was concerned about lumpiness, about it filling up over time, about it possibly traveling... I had a lot of concerns. Then I talked in depth with my doctor who addressed all my questions. He explained why he thought I was a good candidate and he gave me time to do my own research. I'm so happy with the results. If you do anything like this, just make sure you work with a doctor you trust.
Best advice ever, for any procedure! If someone is pushing you into it, run. Talk it through with someone who actually has your best interests in mind.
An acquaintance of mine had the gastric balloon and was posting about it on Facebook, she said it feels exactly like you would expect, that she could feel it moving around inside of her like a water balloon, it was like being low level seasick all the time. Her appetite got so low that she was malnourished and lost a noticeable amount of hair which is what finally got her to have it removed. Be very careful if you decide to get one
I got a gastric balloon… absolute waste of time and money. I was sick the entire time (nausea, diarrhea and vomiting every day) I had that balloon in, HORRIBLE HORRIBLE gastritis and reflux, poor nutrient absorption because the balloon irritates the lining of your stomach and gets in the way of proper digestion. Because I felt so sick for those six months I couldn’t eat anything or keep anything down, so I didn’t learn proper nutrition or portion control (which is the point of having the balloon). Everything made me sick, I had zero energy. I lost 50 lbs from essentially starving myself, but almost immediately gained it back after taking the balloon out. The support provided by the clinic I went to was terrible. The nutritionist was very insensitive and basically kept telling me to drink Diet Coke every morning to “rinse” the balloon so it would help me with my symptoms. Highly do not recommend. Just eat well, exercise. Don’t take short cuts.
I ended up having to go to the ER due to six months of poor nutrient absorption… my iron was so low I had to get an iron infusion and blood transfusion, electrolytes, Vitamin D, everything were completely off.
I'm a keloider. When I had my total gastrectomy (stomach cancer) the scar was super chill for like a month or two but then started getting bigger and bigger and so itchy. I can't imagine doing something on my face now because all my scars get wild.
I work for a plastic surgery, and can confirm - young folk seem to keloid/scar easily while older patients seem to recover from pretty decent flaps and grafts on the face with barely a line (also because our Drs are very skilled and experienced). I never realized it was to do with less robust collagen in older skin but it totally makes sense. A good side to getting older perhaps!
My mother was in her 80's and had Mohs surgery for basal cell on nose. She had sutures and it was pretty noticable. She wouldn't go out in public . The surgeon prescribed an ointment. I think , surprisingly, one of the ingredients consisted of onion! That's right! After a few weeks you could hardly see where it was
I think people need to keep in mind that cosmetic surgery is still surgery and there are risks. You don't often get to see the bad outcomes because bad outcomes don't sell procedures, but they still exist. I remember one woman who got lip filler injected into a vein by accident and her lip turned black and nearly rotted off. She had rush back to her doctor and was almost too late because, even though it was 1 day since her procedure, tissues die really quickly without blood. She thought the black color was just heavy bruising and almost didn't go. If she hadn't returned that day she would have lost part of her lip and they would've had to do major reconstruction on her face for her to look normal again.
My mom had the gastric balloon and she lost a lot of weight because it dislodged and blocked her intestines for as she claimed 2 months.... so she was basically bulimic due to the amount of puking she was doing
@@daria5846 i have no idea. She hid that she had it done from my brothers and me. I only knew she had it done when my dad called to say she went into emergency surgery. She refuses to talk about it.
I wouldnt compare that to bullimia…thats a mental condition not just physical where you starve binge and throw up on purpose to be dangerously skinny. But i hope shes doing better
@@flameepidemic4839 oh its not a light comparison. I said that because she let it go on for so long and was happy with her progress. She said she threw up nearly everyday for 2 months until she passed out and had to go to the ER to get it removed. Doesnt seem mentally healthy to me.
I am a dentist and definitely not qualified to recommend anything. I have seen the horror of fast weight loss and what it does to the excess skin all over the body which has nowhere to go. I am 45 and I have had two back to back caesarean. The only was I am loosing my body weight is by doing running, jogging, yoga etc etc. it's taking months and months and months to gradually loose weight. But my muscles are slowly getting toned, my skin is getting tighter and my endurance is increasing. Sometimes it can be a boon not to have money 🤣.
I had the balloon procedure done. It's made me so sick, I passed out at the hospital I was working at. I was taking to the ER, I had a UTI, and pancreatitis. I stayed in the hospital for 5 days. It took me about a year to completely recover .
Growing old is a definite in life , taking care of yourself so you can , is a must . I feel good and think I look excellent for mid 40s and being a grandmama .Working on my mental , and THEN my physical when I was a teen , helped me accept the things of my body that I can't change , but I work on those that I can
I get scared of not looking like me. After lip filler it was freaking me out already. It was subtle but enough to notice a different look and it’s weird. That’s why the permanent procedures scare me.
@@feelthejoy Not really. I had a rhinoplasty which changed my profile a lot, which is the main reason I did it. Not everyone loves their natural look and I don't feel weird at all, just more like myself.
@@feelthejoy I've wondered that sooo many times when I look at any of the Kar-Jenner's... I especially wonder what it's like for them to see old pics of themselves? That would have to feel almost uncanny because they have all drastically changed.
I'm darker skinned so my skin, one would assume is prone to keloiding. I was also 32 when I had mine performed. Dr. Mascaro performed my lip lift 4ish years ago and it's impeccable. The scar is virtually unnoticeable. I had a overwhelmingly positive experience and it took years off of my face, but I understand that may not be the same for everyone.
I got Juvederm under my eye. Whoa! People thought my husband had beaten me up and I'd covered it with makeup. I never admitted to getting the filler to people. I was so embarrassed. Thanks for advising that I should try a different product🤣
I definitely agree with your assessment of under-eye filler and Ultherapy. I was always self-conscious about my under eye hollows, but now I'm more self-conscious about the weird bumps from filler migration that are very evident in some lighting conditions. I have also seen occasional swelling with tear trough filler. The doctor told me that the filler would dissolve over time, but mine has not. Ultherapy was painful (and expensive) and I didn't see a lot of tightening, but I did see some fat disolve, which is ageing.
@@dangerbirb4981 Went to a well-reviewed cosmetic dermatologist in my area. I don’t think it was the dermatologist’s fault but just the nature of HA fillers.
There is something called soft wave. It doesn’t go as deep. Mostly skin tightening. It’s not really going to “ lift” the face per se. But I’m pretty happy w the results I have had w it. I do it every year. I go to one dermatologist who has a PA who I trust and does the cosmetic stuff. Also I like threads. Barbed just a 2-3 on each side every not often. But I do feel over time it’s helping delay my feeling that I look dragged . I’ll be 47 in a week! Just an option if u decide to try something else.
Yeah, very skeptical of the idea that you can count on any HA filler product to not migrate and to complely dissolve, lots of evidence has come out against that. Also skeptical of all these treatments that "stimulate collagen for tightening" by basically cooking or making tiny cuts or both. Scar tissue ofc has more collagen than intact tissue, but it's tensile strength is at most 80%, so I suspect it makes skin more prone to wrinkling in the future. That's not even getting into the risk of affecting tissues you didn't want to target (fat), which I've seen a lot of people complain about after Ultherapy.
I had eye filler done about 15 yrs ago and it was a nightmare. When I went back they tried to talk me into getting a whole other eye surgery and I have had the pdo threads done many times and it does look phenomenal at first but sadly they never have lasted 1-3 yrs.as I was told.
This is what cured me of wanting plastic surgery..a woman I knew who was 70 had 250k dollars worth of overall plastic surgery...she was in a lot of pain. When she healed she did look smoother but really she was the same person to me. She passed away 1 year after so she looked good in her casket..
Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So love the people who treat you right, forget about the ones who don’t. And believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it would be easy, just that it would be worth it
Dr. Youn, you always give the best reliable information. One of the reasons I subscribed to your channel is the valuable medical advice you give and if a person is interested in a procedure, they can go to your channel and find whether the it is a good idea or not. I think anyone wanting something done in plastic surgery, are lucky if they can see you for a consult because they are going to receive the best advice. Now I know there are several excellent Plastic surgeons out there but after watching "Botched" I also know there are also several plastic surgeons doing things on patients that the patient never agreed to, for example inserting a larger breast implants then what the person wanted. In my opinion these doctors are not following the Hippocratic Oath. I live in Canada and in order to see a specialist such as a plastic surgeon, you would have to be referred by your primary physician so there would have to be a medical reason on why you would need a specialist. I don't believe comedic procedures are such a big deal here but I am really glad I look at myself am I am pleased with what I see
I still like my Dr. Youn collagen after using it several years, start every day with a scoop in my coffee! It’s not like having a facelift, but I do think my skin is tighter at age 70.
I had an upper lip lift 2 weeks ago as part of my facial feminization surgery. I'm 29, very healthy diety and skim care routine and no scar yet. I LOVE IT, thr only thing I wish I would have known is my mouth doesn't naturally close completely anymore. Still looks amazing, I just have to get use to that
Gastric bypass (where your stomach is surgically reduced, not the balloon) is something I'd never consider because my mom had a horrible experience. Years later, she still has a lot of digestive issues and horrible acid reflux. She's stretched her stomach back a little at this point and put back on some of the weight she lost, but still has a lot of issues. Imagine never being able to drink a carbonated beverage or alcohol ever again, being nauseous and constipated and bloated constantly, not being able to take NSAID pain relievers, and having to cut out dozens of foods you used to enjoy (like she can't even eat BREAD now).
I so agree with regretting a thread lift. It's a pretty unpleasant procedure, my face hurt for several days, and the results for me (with COG threads), lasted even less than 6 months, and they weren't even that mind blowing. It was pricey, unpleasant, and mostly useless.
I had a lip lift 3 months ago and I love it so much! Scar is virtually invisible 🤷🏻♀️ But I also went to the best surgeon for this procedure which I feel is very important. Im 41 years old
Dear Dr Youn I have had various cosmetic procedures and also planstic surgery I'm over 65 and the plastic surgery I had last year really had big positive effect. I have never regretted any procedure I have had,.
I want a nose job and had wanted a lip lift, too. When I decided to try a pico laser treatment for my dark circles, the doctor asked if I wanted the rest of my face done, as well. I went ahead and tried it and noticed that my marionette lines softened a lot, and my top lip looks fuller now because the skin between my nose and lip has more collagen again. I've already gotten a second treatment, and with that one, my lips stopped being downturned. I would still like a smaller nose, but I'm trying to make my peace with it to avoid surgery.
Great job! This is the most thorough video I've seen on cosmetic surgery. What I appreciate is your honesty and more people considering the options discussed here must learn of your channel!
My Aunt just came out of a medically induced coma from asperating her vomit. It was less than a week after getting a gastric balloon. Her doctor just told her to rest and let it settle. We are just lucky her son in law came over to walk the dogs, saw her and took her straight to the hospital.
I'd love to see a video about keloids. My friend has them and they are super painful for them and each zit runs a risk of becoming a new one. Id really love to know what might help them
I LOVE my liplift, but I also did a ton of research on quality doctors. Do your homework. I got mine done at 55 so the age does make a huge difference.
My dad had a gastric bypass -very different than the balloon mentioned - he lost over 100lbs and is really happy with his results he just has excess skin he needs to get rid of
Two women in my life had gastric bypass. One had some issues with not absorbing enough nutrients from her food, so she needed to be careful with supplements and even infusions. But... if she hadn't gotten it, at that point in time, doctors gave her about 5-10 years to live, and she had young kids at home, so she got on with it. She lost the weight she'd gained from a thyroid issue, gestational diabetes, and medication for Lupus, never gained it back. The other lady had fewer issues and looks and feels amazing! A lot of people say all the people they know gained the weight back and then some, but I wonder... if the person gained the weight due to things like pregnancy and medication side effects (that they then discontinue), it makes sense that they'd lose the weight. If the issue is being an overeater with issues about their relationship with food, they're likely to go back to those habits when they have free rein again and it doesn't make them instantly vomit to eat too much. It feels like a lot of people blame the procedure instead of the eating habits that are instilled in people, a weight problem vs a food problem.
I got my lip lift at 28. The scar was bad for a few months but thank god for masks and the lockdown. At 30, the scar is basically invisible even without makeup (very thin white thin line, but it took time to look this way.) I love it it really made me love my face way more. However I got lucky. My boob job scars healed hypertrophic.
I'm interested in the liplift, I'm not fussed about waiting for the scar to heal as that's part of the process. In the past I have also had many piercings without any keloids and minimal scaring, so I'm hopeful to that the scaring would follow on with how I have previously scared. As such, I will continue to do research as I am definitely considering this for within the next 10-15 years. I'm 33 right now
A friend of mine had a gastric bypass last year. She was in and out of the hospital for 4 months and almost died. Now she's out of the hospital and feels uncomfortably full after only eating a few bites of food. So she's starving, in permanent restriction/diet mode. Research shows that my friend's experience is common after weight loss surgery and that she'll probably gain the original weight back (plus some).
I love watching Dr. Youn's vid. Eversince I found this channel, I always fall asleep to his explanation about holistic beauty. Yes, I watch and rewatch almost all of his vids and it's been a year since I did that. My feeds is now full of medical knowledge..I'm proud haha.
i did an upper eye lift. they removed just a really skinny strip of super thin skin, but it caused a bit of nerve pain around the scar and it was thick at first. imagine this happening to a bigger part of your anatomy. you"ll look like your having a cold all the time after a lip lift
I had a lip lift many years ago. In fact, I was one of the very first people to review/write about the procedure on Real Self. I loved my results! The after care is pretty tough though. Your face is swollen & stitches under your nose for 7 days is no fun.
I'm always a fan of doctors that say patients should try natural/less invasive options for weight-loss before resorting to any of the gastric surgeries. The main reason for that is your diet has to change RADICALLY for most of them, and if you can't stick to something less invasive - fewer calories, whole grains, portion control, etc. then surviving and thriving after the surgery is going to be really hard on you. (This is observations from people I know in my personal life who have had it done - one is thriving, though they admit that it's sometimes hard to not be able to really indulge for birthdays or holidays, the other went off course within a few months and ended up rushed to the hospital because they were vomiting blood.) So it's really cool to see you suggest people use plastic surgery as a last resort, not a first one.
Do you have any experience with patients with ehlers danlos syndrome? I know our collagen is funky so I was wondering if that affects some of the procedure you do
It probably depends on which classification of ED that one has. I have hyper mobile ED Class I only. I’ve had multiple surgeries and haven’t noticed any ill effects
You forgot Coolscultping which also has a low (in the 60's) rating on realself! It often doesn't give good results AND the side effect PAH where the fat cells harden and grow (instead of shrink) is highly under reported and is a horrific side effect! I know because I got it. Went from a size 8 to size 16 over the course of a year and half and its drastically effected my overall health...something that happens a lot in our support group but no one is studying it! We suspect it causes all over system inflammation. There are many plastic surgeons in the country whose whole practices are mostly doing PAH liposuction revision surgeries now, as invasive surgery is the only way to get rid of it and still many people need multiple surgeries or never get their bodies back to their before photos. There are surgeons who are doing these surgeries 5 times a week. A 2018 study found that 1 in 138 people who get coolscuplting will become deformed by the PAH side effect but the pharmacutical company Allergen (who also produced a cancer causing recalled breast implants), will still say its just 1 in 4,000. I would of run out the med spa door had I heard either of those numbers. This is the same thing the 90s super model Linda Evanglista just settled with Allergen out of court (to a large settlment) for disfguring her. Women commit suicide or become recluses over this horrific side effect. Its sooo not worth it. But you can bet Allergan will continue to use it until they are stopped because it nets them $64 billion a year. Lots of people have PAH and don't even know it and think they are just gaining weight and their stomach feels weird. Would love Dr. Youn to do a video on this and spread the word. A top plastic surgeon who does PAH revision surgeries even told me that hes worked on multiple Allergen executives because they had PAH themselves! Here’s a video of a top CA plastic surgeon talking about it. instagram.com/tv/CUggNkNAaVN/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
I git lip lift, fillers, and threads. Love all my results especially my lip lift. My philtrum was so long , as long as a man. No bueno. My advice is don't cut too much skin out. For fillers please please don't use everything in that needle just because you can. I don't look blown up because I never use a whole needle whether it'll be my lips, cheeks, chin, and undereyes. I only use 2 threads on each cheeks. I see results so what if it last only a year. It didn't hurt and I I didn't bruised.
I want a lip lift but I'm v scared. It's right in the middle of the face. If it goes wrong we r ruined. But it ages you so much. Thanks for sharing. Any advice on getting a lip lift.
Actually, my main and personal concern with a lip lift is the fact that your muscles might permanently get damaged, so even though it might look great when your face is staying still, it looks soooo obviously weird as soon as you start talking. And this isn’t only for a short period after the surgery, but it’s permanent. It’s the same thing with shaving the jaw bone.
I had Lapband surgery. Due to several health issues that don't let me reduce weight for long. I did loose a lot slowly over a few years. But I was getting a lot of reflux the last few years. Slowly I had to get the band deflated. I had a bad aspiration during one Lupus episode. I was deflating and inflating a bit several times afterwards. I mention this to my respiratory specialist. I had a Bronchoscopy, and found to have damage to my lungs. It is believed to be caused by aspirating when sleeping, at times that I thought it was just reflux. I had the band removed at great expense and pain. Like you doctor, I don't see the gastric balloon as recommendable.
I have one friend that had to have her lapband removed and another friend that has had it for years and years and has lost a lot of weight but has had acid reflux for as long as she'ss had the band. Just seeing what she's gone through I know I could never live with that.
I use want to get several procedures done then over the last few years I've had around 20 surgeries, both big and small, due to serious medical issues. Now the thought of surgery that's not absolutely necessary just horrifies me. People should ofcourse do what's best for them but be aware post surgical pain is no joke (even with a high pain threshold)!
I've gotten under eye filler. The rn used restilyn. Sorry if that's spelled wrong. She barely injected any without over doing. She was very precise and really took her time.
I guarantee you that you are lying to yourself. You’re coping by forcing yourself to believe that the surgery was good, but in reality it almost certain makes you uglier. People who opt for purely cosmetic plastic surgery should be first treated for mental health problems such as body dysmorphia before they are cleared to sign up for a plastic surgery. Anyone who believes they are so ugly that they need to put plastic inside their face or body is unimaginably and disproportionately insecure. I hope you realize that this is not intended to offend you, insult you, or berate you in any way shape or form. I am simply here to indicate the problem millions of young women across the world are going through. Instead of writing me off as some random internet troll, accept reasoning, and try to prevent other people from undergoing such pathology. Be well.
@@icantseethe7680 There is a difference between body dysmorphia and simply wanting to change something about yourself. Don't go out claiming that people are mentally ill when they are not, it's very harmful to those that are being mislabeled.
If that's you in your pfp, I like the results. I'm sure you looked fine before but I think you look great there and it looks very natural. Genuinely glad you came out feeling better about yourself
My friend had a gastric balloon inserted 2months ago and she's since thrown up at least once a day. She's otherwise well and they've assured her that it will get better, but if she'd been told that risk existed I don't think she would have gone through with the operation. Especially as its starting to affect her teeth (cuz stomach acid) and that's possibly going to be a life long issue/cost
I worked for a very awesome doctor who performed the best Gastric by passes. He had his patients go through six weeks of classes to start. He was so thorough he never lost a patient in the 4-1/2 years I worked in the hospital where he performed the surgeries. He trained us nurses impeccably in what to watch etc. he also trained other doctors in the five state area surrounding the state we were in. (Other doctors who wanted in on doing these procedures and weren’t certified in this procedure lost several of their patients and if they hadn’t died they had many problems.
I once heard about an overweight man who got the gastric ballon and it took it less than 4 months to kill him. Please don't do this, no matter how desperate you are to lose weight. It was one of the saddest things I've heard
I had a lip lift. My philtrum was stretched out after 6+ years of fillers trying to achieve the look of a lip lift. Although I have a scar, I am SOOOOO HAPPY I did the lip lift. My philtrum looks like how it did before all the filler. I DO NOT REGRET my decision and believe it is a great option for those with a long philtrum and those that understand the risks and the guaranteed scar. Like with any procedure on a younger person, a scar is inevitable and that needs to be understood. Open rhinoplasty, SCAR. Breast augmentation, SCAR, brow lift, SCAR! This is just common sense.
I’ve had a lip lift thread lift under eye fillers (restyline!) and a gastric sleeve (and a lot more 🤣🤣) I don’t regret any of them and pleased with my results.
After watching some similar videos on thread lifts and cheek filler, I told myself I would swear them off and save for surgery. However, I’m pretty miserable with my appearance right now and very tempted to go back for more temporary but instantly gratifying results. It’s much harder to find the willpower to put that much $$ into savings for future results than it is to spend it on something that will make me look better tomorrow…I appreciate the common sense of your advice, but feel very conflicted over what to do. (I’m 40, it’s an old profile pic LOL)
Can you please do a video on Paris Hilton ? She is looking very different these days. She has done something - and she looks prettier - but I cant figure out what she did.
You just need to find the right doctor with proper after care and a nutritionist that follows you on your journey. Of course, one death is one too many but in comparison 18 in how many? This is a pretty frequent ‘surgery’ and you don’t know why it really happened. If something is off, hurts, feel bad etc talk to your doctor.
Gastric balloon??? Puleeze! Gastric sleeve or Roux en Y bypass or one of the new weight loss drugs. I have a bypass and lost 140 lbs. Now, 20 years later, I may need to have it tweaked. Have gained about 20 lbs in the past 18 months. Am now scheduled to get a gastric x-ray to see what might be going on. Go to a qualified well-recommended Bariatric surgeon. If you don’t want a “permanent” procedure, you’re not going to get permanent results.
I just don't see it. I moderately dieted and lost 10kg since January to now, begining of may. 5.5 kg in 2 weeks Is alot n quick sure. But that could easily be muscle too. I got up to 250lbs/121kg with , for me, little muscle in the pandemic. Back to the gym. Lost some fat. Strongest I've ever been in January. Partial reason for slow weightloss. If you go hard you lose muscle . Now. 5_10 percent he said. Let's make it 15. Makes 18kg for me. Thats only halfway there. That's Stil overweight for me. Really not worth side effects. Try a high protein diet. Having maybe one real meal and tiny bits of protein, sometimes Skyr sometimes shakes every couple hours seemingly made my stomach realize it doesn't need to be that full
I think the scar from a lip lift is worth it in relation to the results you’d get. It’s also in a place that you barely notice and can easily cover up with makeup.
My biggest concern about the lip lift procedure is that it could create more tooth show for some people. Tooth show is very unattractive and it often ages the face. I’m surprised the lip lift is even a thing
Most doctors aren’t going to do it so severely that it will cause tooth show. Read the comments on this video- 90% of them are people saying how much they loved their lip lift and how it’s the only thing they don’t regret having done. And you’re surprised it’s even a thing???
Those gastric surgeries are incredibly popular in my country (Chile). I know loooots of people that have a balloon, or had their stomachs cut, etc., because they feel dieting doesn't work. In fact my FIL recently underwent one and he has lost a considerable amount of weight but I feel he didn't change his habits enought to loose as much as he should (aka: he should exercise, but he does not). I think the surgeries are very seductive because they seem to be "easier" -even if they're major surgeries, with death being a possible outcome- than just eating less/healthier and moving more
Dr. Youn, love this video. Thank you. My problem is about 7 months ago I went to bed and in the morning under both of my eyes are so puffy. Never had any problems like the ever. I have had people stop me and ask what i use. I am at my wits end. I have been to my GP and he changed one prescription. I need help. I was hoping you can give me a suggestion.
I had ultherapy recently for under my eyes (I’ve got that “double” under eye circle look… idk if anybody knows what I mean by that but I’ve had to deal with it my entire adult life no matter how much sleep or hydration I got, or how many expensive eye creams I used). It’s helped noticeably (I understand it takes a few months for full effects to be in complete effect) and many people have said I look brighter in the face and under my eyes looks smoother. I’m 32. It was quite uncomfortable but I’m happy I got it done despite the temporary sensitivity around my eyes and I’m glad I didn’t opt for filler.

I'm sorry, but I learned long ago that having dark circles around the eyes has a side benefit of getting presumed sick and sent home just by showing up to work without makeup.
😂
It's good to have a strategy! 😂
Someone was talking about the importance of knowing the colours that are right for you. She jokingly said that when you know which colours make you look sick, you can keep one shirt like that in your wardrobe and when you feel like being sent home from work, go makeup-less, and wear that shirt. Evil genius.
Yup! People think I’m sick when I don’t wear makeup…it’s great

@@gabrielleg.1347 That's what happened to the model Linda Evangelista. How horrible. I'm so sorry that happened to you.

That sounds terrible, hope she's okay now
I haven’t had cosmetic surgery, but I enjoy learning about it and the other subjects you discuss.
Thank you 🙏🏻
Haha me too. I can’t afford it but doesn’t mean I can’t dream about it
I got a gastric balloon… absolute waste of time and money.
Wow, what kind of nutritionist would suggest diet coke?! Sounds horrific!
That sounds like one of my worst nightmares!!! I'm glad you got it taken out
I ended up having to go to the ER due to six months of poor nutrient absorption… my iron was so low I had to get an iron infusion and blood transfusion, electrolytes, Vitamin D, everything were completely off.

I'm a keloider. When I had my total gastrectomy (stomach cancer) the scar was super chill for like a month or two but then started getting bigger and bigger and so itchy. I can't imagine doing something on my face now because all my scars get wild.
at least you know you scar weird
I hope you’re doing better ❤
Can you tell if you're black or not?
After a few weeks you could hardly see where it was
@@xyz5765 Can you please let me know the name of the ointment that the doctor prescribed to your mom? Thanks
Have to agree. I find my scars aren't as thick now I'm older, they used to be unsightly before.
Did the doctor not do anything about it during her checkups?
Awesome

But my muscles are slowly getting toned, my skin is getting tighter and my endurance is increasing. Sometimes it can be a boon not to have money 🤣.
Hey we gotta a dentist in the house😎
I had the balloon procedure done. It's made me so sick, I passed out at the hospital I was working at. I was taking to the ER, I had a UTI, and pancreatitis. I stayed in the hospital for 5 days. It took me about a year to completely recover .

What kind of filler did your doctor use?

She needs to get a revision to the rny surgery, I'm surprised he doctor hasn't told her this, all of those side effects will be gone!

Oh no :(((
I'm interested in the liplift, I'm not fussed about waiting for the scar to heal as that's part of the process. In the past I have also had many piercings without any keloids and minimal scaring, so I'm hopeful to that the scaring would follow on with how I have previously scared. As such, I will continue to do research as I am definitely considering this for within the next 10-15 years. I'm 33 right now

I had a lip lift many years ago. In fact, I was one of the very first people to review/write about the procedure on Real Self. I loved my results! The after care is pretty tough though. Your face is swollen & stitches under your nose for 7 days is no fun.
Thanks doc appreciate it when u call hyped, popular techniques out for being * cruddy*..👏
Doctor, you're looking very good! Well rested or had any procedures done lately 🤔?
Hahaha! Your humour, attitude and honesty are highly appreciated!
Dr. Youn, I absolutely love your videos and your shorts are fantastic! If I ever gather the bravery to have a facelift, I’m coming to you!
Aspiration...you are fortunate to still be here ❤️
I use want to get several procedures done then over the last few years I've had around 20 surgeries, both big and small, due to serious medical issues.
Same. I absolutely love mine
Dr You has such beautiful youthful skin love it, thank you for all the information you share with us not just interesting but also very helpful
I got a lip lift at 29. No complaints. Massive improvment in my facial harmony.

I've had a lip lift 2 years ago...zero regrets...I love it
I had a lip lift 2 years ago….👄
Thank you, I always learn so much from you.
I love Doctor Youn honesty 🙏🏻
Thanks for the valuable information provided in this video!
Thanks Dr. Youn, great advice. I really love your channel!
I want to thank you for your honesty! This is so ignorant from people that trust what you are saying! Great video!!
I love treads…had it done 1 year ago and it got rid of my life long nasolabial folds. I’m 35 and i think it can be great for younger clients.
I got a lip lift at 30 and I look way better, as for the scar I recommend silicone scar tape
Shannon & Dr Youn, so do you recommend Botox over the fillers for the forehead and in between the eye brows?
Thank you for your honesty 🙏
After watching some similar videos on thread lifts and cheek filler, I told myself I would swear them off and save for surgery. However, I’m pretty miserable with my appearance right now and very tempted to go back for more temporary but instantly gratifying results. It’s much harder to find the willpower to put that much $$ into savings for future results than it is to spend it on something that will make me look better tomorrow…I appreciate the common sense of your advice, but feel very conflicted over what to do. (I’m 40, it’s an old profile pic LOL)
Thanks Doc! 👍awesome video very informative
Can you please do a video on Paris Hilton ? She is looking very different these days. She has done something - and she looks prettier - but I cant figure out what she did.
Bravo Dr Youn! 👍
I was planning on getting a gastric balloon to help with with weight loss because I refuse to do permanent surgeries but this definitely gave me pause
I had my gastric balloon 2 weeks ago. Already lost 5,5 kilos.
Depends on how you scar. Some people scar really well and it’s worth it for them while others develop ugly keloid or visible shiny scars.
Not if you Keloid and it keeps growing. Google it
My biggest concern about the lip lift procedure is that it could create more tooth show for some people.
I think the surgeries are very seductive because they seem to be "easier" -even if they're major surgeries, with death being a possible outcome- than just eating less/healthier and moving more
I agree, just eat properly and healthy and get your exercise!
I’m 32. It was quite uncomfortable but I’m happy I got it done despite the temporary sensitivity around my eyes and I’m glad I didn’t opt for filler.
amazing video! thank you for informing us!
I got a lip lift when I was 24 y/o, the best decision I've ever made
I’m getting one at 29 :)
I'm 40 and considering getting a lip lift.
Have you been hideous before?
You have some of the fakest looking lips
@@GiaDiamond4 What doctor are you going to? You are so young you probably don't need it. I almost don't need it. I'm aging well naturally I have had nothing done and make sure you do your research.
This is great info , thank you !
Doctor are they cruelty free as well? Thank you.
Thank you for great info and by the way you have incredible TV voice 👏👏👏👏😊😊😊
I’ve been watching Dr Youn’s posts in You Tube and TV specials for years. How does he stays so youthful (perpetual 29year-old) and never seem to age?
Dr. YOUN always saving us from making cray cray mistakes 😜
Excellent , thank you very much❤
i remember when i was 19 and went to get to get a little bit filler in my bottom lip to even out my face. i told the lady that i just want a little bit on the bottom lip and she started to convince me to get a bullhorn lip lift, she tried to tell me my top lip is too small which i didn‘t think before getting there. i remember feeling so uncomfortable after talking to her
