Hi, I'm a Korean and this statement also confused me alot. I think what they mean is a type of tradition? Routine? Amongst Korean people around KBBQ, as we have engraved the pattern of place meat, flip then cut and serve into our muscle memory. There's no absolute rule of having to flip the meat only once. For example, my family flip the pork belly multiple times to ensure an even cook, but for beef we only sear the crust by flipping it once. It's a matter of preference, really. So enjoy however you feel like it :)

Idk, but based on the Cambridge dictionary it has both definition written on it, with the slow cooked written with the letters US beside the head (maybe pertaining to the US) but whenever I go to retreat (school religion camp during school hours) we call roasting a sausage over the grill barbecue time and even going as far as barbequing marshmallow. So it's probably just how you define barbeque is.
@@kevinray1382 Not disagreeing with you but there is a reason why it is called "grill marks" and there is no such thing as "barbeque marks" or "barbecue marks". Cambridge might have their own definition but I believe the culinary world will agree that any cooking methods using indirect heat and a long and slow cooking/smoking time will be considered true barbequing or barbecuing whereas any cooking methods of food over direct heat/fire will be considered grilling whether or not there is a cookware in between the food and the heat/fire.
Hey guys like your videos, but I think you made a slight mistake when it came to Brazil. I don’t think it is really common to marinate the meat in chimichurri or to even serve the meat with Chiminchurri. Hope you guys can make a video about Brazil and Churrasco as it is a really cool tradition and amazing delicious.
Brazilians DON’T serve churrasco with chimichuri, that’s the Argentinians. Brazilian serve with vinagrete (kind of a mix between salad and dressing containing tomatoes, salsa and onions) and farofa (cornflour cooked with bacon and eggs).

Some of these cooking methods ain't exactly barbequing but more of grilling as barbequing is more of low heat and long cooking time whereas grilling is more of high heat and short cooking time which some of these cooking methods here are showing...
Idk, but based on the Cambridge dictionary it has both definition written on it, with the slow cooked written with the letters US beside the head (maybe pertaining to the US) but whenever I go to retreat (school religion camp during school hours) we call roasting a sausage over the grill barbecue time and even going as far as barbequing marshmallow. So it's probably just how you define barbeque is.

Not disagreeing with you but there is a reason why it is called "grill marks" and there is no such thing as "barbeque marks" or "barbecue marks". Cambridge might have their own definition but I believe the culinary world will agree that any cooking methods using indirect heat and a long and slow cooking/smoking time will be considered true barbequing or barbecuing whereas any cooking methods of food over direct heat/fire will be considered grilling whether or not there is a cookware in between the food and the heat/fire.
It's probably just how different word means in different countries, and how the society there uses the words.

Hey guys like your videos, but I think you made a slight mistake when it came to Brazil. I don’t think it is really common to marinate the meat in chimichurri or to even serve the meat with Chiminchurri. Hope you guys can make a video about Brazil and Churrasco as it is a really cool tradition and amazing delicious.

Brazilians DON’T serve churrasco with chimichuri, that’s the Argentinians. Brazilian serve with vinagrete (kind of a mix between salad and dressing containing tomatoes, salsa and onions) and farofa (cornflour cooked with bacon and eggs).
Based on the comments, Insider doesn't do a good research of culture. A lot of information seems inaccurate.
