      We finished all four books so we are not currently using them anymore but yes we used them all together. • @belle1353

    I have an oddly specific question about the way you had it bound.. I just got my copy of the activity book and would like to get it bound the way you did. I notice the student pages in the second half of the book are perforated. Did this cause any issues? Did they bind it all the way over as far as it could go or did they bind on the right side of the perforation? Not sure if I'm making sense or not.. just thinking about how I would be using it with my printer & copier and if it would be better for me to just take out the perforated sheets myself and keep that half of the book loose (which sounds annoying organization wise but wondering if it would work better for printer without cutting part of the page off in the copying if they bind it too close to top of page). Sorry if that's too confusing of a question.. I've never had anything spiral bound before

    • @LifeintheMundane
      @LifeintheMundane  Год назад +1

      I just looked at my copy and it looks like they took out the perforated pages and bound it from there. I am not a 100% sure since I just handed it over but they are definitely not perforated anymore.

    Hi! So I do like the story of the world. But! I was wondering about maybe trying to set it up in a different way and seeing that you have all the volumes maybe you could tell me if you think it could work? Lol
    I was wanting to take a section from each era to do in one year. I know it’s one era per year so could I just divide it into 4 units and do part of an era each year for four years? Idk
    It just seems like it will be difficult for us to stay interested in the same era for a whole year.
    Thank you if you can respond

    • @LifeintheMundane
      @LifeintheMundane  3 года назад +1

      So I am not sure how well that would work. But one idea would be to just use the books as a read aloud and not do all the extra activities. If you did that you could get through two books in a year which would keep things moving. I will also say because it is world history you change up topics quite a bit because you're taking a look at what is going on in all different countries which keeps it from getting stale.

      This is from the Well Trained Mind Website " The Story of the World series is intended for children in grades 1-4, but is often used by older students: Volume One is written primarily for grades 1-4; Volume Two for grades 2-5; Volume Three for grade 3-6; Volume Four for grades 4-8. The maps and many of the activities in this book are also appropriate for children in grades 4-8. To use The Story of the World as the center of a multilevel history program, have your older child independently do the following: Read The Story of the World; follow this with the appropriate pages from the Kingfisher History Encyclopedia; place all important dates on a timeline; do additional reading on his or her own level. Optional: Your student can answer the Review Questions in writing, instead of orally. You can instruct the student to write out their answers on loose-leaf paper, you can type up the Review Questions yourself and include space for their answers, or you can purchase our Written Comprehension Responses where the Review Questions are already typed for you with plenty of lined space provided for your student’s response!
