I went for the first time last year and despite the massive crowds had one of the best days I've ever spent at a park! Voyage moved into my top 5 thanks to how well it ran last year, so thankful to be able to go, and will definitely be back this year!
I also cannot recommend this event enough! They also have an all-day Friday option for a little extra money, which I went with, so that I can get some ride time in before most of the crowd for the event gets there. For anyone who needs the kiddie credit (Howler), they will probably have a short time during ERT that they will run it. I took care of that during the day Saturday, to not cut into my time with the major coasters.
I will stay in Louisville on Friday so I can have several hours at Kentucky Kingdom then drive to the event. The gain of an hour through the time zone is the selling point for me despite the hour and fifteen minute drive.
Well, now that I'm done with my one and only "rant that can be applied to to other rants" rant, I can still say (with no less enthusiasm than ever), that YES, I want to go to Holiwood Nights. The Voyage is the world's longest wooden roller coaster with one lift hill, has the most airtime of any coaster except Steel Vengeance, and also has a drop to EBR duration of about 100 seconds which is a marathon, especially considering its drop of 154' and two following drops also being over 100'; speed, airtime, laterals, duration and the fact that the track is wooden. The only wooden coaster to beat the length of The Voyage with one lift hill was The Son of Beast. While it's true it beat The Voyage in all other stats, none of those stats made it a better coaster. That's just The Voyage alone, not to mention Thunderbird, Legend, and Raven. This is a bucket list experience for me, to say the least. Looking forward to your review of The Voyage vs. El Toro one day. ;)
man, I didn't know there also was a tragic incident in 2003. with what happened last night at holiday world, this is really sad for the park. hope they won't cancel the event again. also didn't know you had to be a member of a roller coaster club to attend holiwood nights. looks like I have to join european coaster club before my first visit to the states.

What does the event usually cost in your experience (apart from the cost of joining a club) Trying to price out a possible roadtrip including this event, but I cant find the price anywhere. thanks for your help if you can :-)

No, it is a special ticket sold on their website. That ticket gives you day admission and the after hours ERT. I believe the 2024 event already sold out.

That's an option too. I almost did all day Friday for this year.

They may have changed the price for this year given the attendance cap, but I think I paid roughly $60 in the past.

If HW doesn’t cap attendance, how does Voyage not get 6 hour lines?

I haven't bought my ticket yet but there was a link sent out to all registered attendees.
I waited 45- 1 hour for my two rides on Voyage during ERT on Saturday... There was no ERT this year on Voyage for Friday
