I think 100k songs is an understatement and thats not even touching other vocaloids and voice synthezisers. Meiko and Kaito were also made before Miku, Meiko being the first Japanese voice bank.
Gotta be honest, this is the last game I ever expected to see on your channel. I’ve been a Miku fan for about 2 years or so. I find it interesting how all the Vocaloids’ songs are made by fans, although I can’t remember how I got introduced to them. For clarification, don’t think too hard about the context of the songs. None of the Vocaloids have actual backstories to maximize their creative potential so that’s why so many of them can get pretty crazy. Also, some can be surprisingly dark (keep in mind that Miku and them are from Japan, which has a totally different culture than the West, and Japan is where the more well known songwriters are from). I own the Switch version of MegaMix and all its DLC (bought it on launch), and I still play it every now and then. It’s a good way to pass the time. My preference is Miku and Luka but I occasionally play tracks with the other Vocaloids too.
@@TrashorTreasure Wait, you didn't know that? I thought that was obvious. Yeah the studio behind Miku and her friends, Crypton Future Media, doesn't make the songs themselves. They just make the software and voicebank for the Vocaloids. All the songs the Vocaloids sing are made by the users, aka the fans. Also fun fact, whenever those songs are used in concerts, Crypton pays the creators royalties.
7:57 i started laughing way too much at this- especially because this song is pretty dark and with no context it can just seem like shes running up some stairs
Hatsune miku is like a music instrument people pay for to make songs with, she’s been in over 100,000 songs because ANYONE that purchases the Hatsune Miku vocaloid can make a song with her. While miku has had a lot of collaborations you don’t have to be partnered with the company behind her to make a song including Hatsune miku.
I stumbled on this by complete accident, but when selecting a costume pressing both the triggers will immediately select the "recommended" module for the song. IDK why the game doesn't just have that shown on the screen but w/e
He’s kind of really passive aggressive about Miku in this video and I don’t know how to feel about that- I mean even if you really didn’t like the way the synthesized music sounds, you can’t deny that it’s unlike any other rhythm game series ever. These are actually unique songs with unique genres that already existed and we’re not just made for the sole purpose of the game. The module customization is insane, and so is the Vocaloid technology in general. Also Miku kinda is a real popstar. I mean yeah she has no physical form, but the community has breathed and put in such a personality to her that she is more like a real idol. And certainly a lot healthier to idolize
From what I’ve heard mega mix is a good first project diva, and I can back that I’ve been addicted to it recently, but if you’ve been a fan of the series for a while it’s not really anything special. 240 songs is good but the previous entry: future tone had around 200 songs base game let alone dlc tracks (please correct me if I’m wrong I can’t remember very good). But I love mega mix I think it’s such a perfect fit for the switch and i can’t believe it took this long to be put on pc.
Future tone is free but only has 2 songs in basegame but the main 2 dlc packs do give you those 200 songs, and there are some extra dlc packs which add some new charts and songs Megamix (switch) isn't free, basegame comes with half the songs in future tone (101), and there are way too many dlc packs that cost too much Thankfully megamix+ only has one dlc pack for the songs left and the vip edition (the one i bought) goes on sale very often
Ievan Polkka can be added back in with a mod, first thing I did once I installed it and it's completely worth it (I'd also recommend the mod that lets you play at 120Hz)
i still cant get over the fact that most tracks that come in the main game on pc are dlc on switch. like i understand its probably cause the switch is smaller but still. also sonic is just there cause Sega owns the property and just added sonic cause why not.
Nice review. I honestly prefer the Ps3 games, Project Diva F and F2dn, they don't have double notes and noisy sliders as Future Tone and Megamix, instead you have arrows (Some time of double notes that you hit pressing a D-Pad button and a Face button, for example; a A red arrow means you gotta press Right and Circle at the same time) and Flick notes with star shape, these one you gotta hit by moving the Thumb Sticks, and both at the same time when a big yellow star shows up. Something else thar Future Tone and Megamix removed where the hold and release notes, which were replaced by the hold bonus which I don't really like, I prefer the hold and release.
10:10 for that you can just click 1 and 3 at the same time or zl+zr at the same time in the customization menu for it to automatically choose the recommended module!
Old comment, but Anytime I hear someone call Rin-Chan Now! any sort of bad names I honestly can't help but laugh. That song in particular was MADE to be hilariously hateable (and I love it for that) xD

1:38 parappa the rapper is a bit different from other rhythm games. You dont hit just those notes that are on the screen, the game incentivizes freestyling to the beat. Next time try hitting random ass buttons in a way that resembles the beat and watch how youll end up getting “cool” status

the best part of the mm+ is that it's on pc so you can mod in other songs that have been discontinued. including ievan polka
"Innocent and cheery" he said... I bet reading the lyrics translations will change his mind.
That's the beauty of Japanese... can have a cheerful song when listening to it, but reading the translation it's actually a sad song etc

Give it time. I’m sure Miku will guest star in Fire Emblem at this rate, if she doesn’t make it to Fortnite first.

I think that largely depends on the tempo of the song. I can barely handle Ghost Rule on Normal due to how quickly the symbols move.
If you press both back triggers on the costume select screen it’ll automatically take you to the recommended module
