In the US, UNIQLO isn't affordable at all. That's why I wait to go back home to the Philippines or Japan even if it's just once a year then haul shit from there. For other people in the US ig it's affordable and the quality is great since that's the only price most Americans are exposed to but for other people who've been in a UNIQLO elsewhere the prices are staggeringly high (around 4x). Me and my mom are hosts for an exchange program and every time we take our Japanese students to UNIQLO to show them the price, they just gasp. Ik tariffs and other taxes can play a role in this but it really is just ridiculous (same goes for Daiso). $14 for a shirt on sale in the US but back in Asia it's around $6 reg price and about $3 sale (Philippines) and I've seen prices drop to around the 100-200Y in Japan ($1=$150 jpy). Those $88 sweats probs cost $30 or less back home. We (me and student) stumbled upon a trench coat at uniqlo on sale for around $60 (final price w/ tax *California*) and the student said "this is not UNIQLO" due to the pricing.
