Fun fact: Daru_I-No's Power-Up theme/favorite theme in GG is, *"The Midnight Carnival" from Guilty Gear XX* - while Gobou's Power-Up theme/favorite theme in GG is, *"The Man" from Guilty Gear 2 Overture.* Regarding these matches: Despite Gobou generally being the favorite to win most matches/sets vs. numerous strong players, that is not the case vs. I-No - and especially against Daru_I-No - who knows the Asuka match-up very, _very_ well. I'm honestly surpised that Gobou decided to use Asuka against Daru, because he stated that, "飛鳥がイノと戦えなさすぎるからアバでなんとかするしかねーのだ" *(Asuka is too weak to fight I-No, so we have to make do with A.B.A.)* - A more literal translation would be, *"I-No is too hard to fight as Asuka, so we have to make do as A.B.A."* - perhaps he probably wanted to see if he could win more using a different playerstyle than before; as I noticed a lot more WA combos and blockstrings from Gobou - I guess they weren't joking when he said that he wants to change the way he plays Asuka... as the Asuka innovator, it will be interesting to see what Gobou comes up with, and how effective it may be. My apologies about the long post...

As you can see in these sets, he is trying to play neutral and is using WA in gatlings and combos - his playstyle has become similar to a Case 2 Asuka user named コメコメ - who Gobou acknowledges as a strong Asuka user.

Asuka is I-No's best match-up, and this is one of Asuka's harder - but not hardest match-up. Moreover, Gobou stated that I-No vs. Asuka is between a 7:3 - 8:2 match-up. This will probably be the only time I state this, as I hate to bring personal experiences into this; but as someone who plays in Celestial, I can vouch that this match-up is really bad - many Asuka players leave the lobby all together after I fight them as I-No, and I almost feel bad for them....

I-no's spiky projectile has so much priority and covers so much space both horizontally and vertically that makes the mu so favorable in her side, like it outright cancels entire arpeggio's streams, no doubt daru is the goat, but it's undeniable that it is a crucial tool in this match up, not even sol can vortex arpeggio, and he has a favorable mu based on what I heard Note: I know you can crouch under it, I meant vertically in the sense of catching the cubes
I-No has winning match-ups against: Asuka, Potemkin, Goldlewis, Nago, Millia, and a few others who's names elude me at the moment. This is according to Daru_I-No - so I-No most definitely has winning match-up(s)... My apologies if this comes off as rude, but I don't understand why so many players of certain characters have the inclination to downplay...
I want to specify that I in no way wanted to downplay asuka in any regard, mine was a observation I wanted to make based on this video, I'm a zato 1 main and played asuka because I like how he plays, I believe he is as oppressive as it gets in this game and his winning condition is strong like no other in strive, again just an observation, no downplaying intended
I-No is not considered top tier, because the character has inherent weaknesses - such as a fairly bad match-up spread, having to interact in dangerous situations in order to win, and how easy it can be for certain characters to invalidate her offense (like Sol, Ky, Gio, Leo, among others). She is considered high tier (A+) in Asia, though.
@weebtrash3376 This may sound harsh, but Daru_I-No stated that I-No is believed to be a weak character in NA/EU, because there are no strong I-No players there. Moreover, Daru considers I-No to be a high tier/an A+ character - so, in the same tier as A.B.A, Chaos, and Asuka - meaning, she is not a top tier character, but by no means weak, either...
@@waitingforzato-1i-noinguil301 I mean he isn’t really wrong, I-no is extremely uncommon in EU and NA (which is a good thing for me because I get really stressed in the mirror match-up) but she’s still a really strong character when you learn her.

This might be a joke I’m missing and I’m dense but he plays asuka sometimes on stream and then plays a different character but I didn’t tune in for to long last stream
He probably just wanted to try out the new character to see how he was. I personally think he’s really fun and overpowered but I decided to stick with i-no because well, I’m too attached to her. I also still find her really fun and I have been improving with her, so that’s also probably the case with Gobou.
@M-Trigger: Gobou personally stated in his stream that he would only use Slayer for one day. This is due to the fact that, like most non-Slayer users, Gobou really dislikes Slayer. As far as what Gobou thinks of Slayer's character strength, he thinks that Slayer is _very_ _good_ - which is a bad sign for any player who does not like fighting Slayer...

Mainly because it was curious for me how quickly Gobou decided to pick Asuka back when usually people spend way more time using the new character during it's relase before going back to their proper mains, but everyone is free to pick whoever they want in the end, but I tried to express it in a kinda ridicolus way just for the hahas, I just like making people laugh from time to time, but the question was still there, thank you and the others for answer it in detail.
