Great Work! Did you know that you can add a few fence foundations to align the stone pillar in the same place everytime, if you like, I can try to explain its not too hard, but it makes the positioning consistent.
With the net projectile addition you can build the cross, build the back pillars, lure the crab in and then build the pillars to trap it in defeating the need for ramps.

@@nnif4990 You have to shoot the body. If you shoot the legs it wont gain torpor, and will end up dying instead.
@@nnif4990 the middle/body is where you want to shoot its like a soft spot so if you shoot there it'll get it sleepy and get it knocked out
LoL, love the dad joke about it being crabby. Priceless 😂. Please keep these vids up. I'm starting new on crystal isles and your gryphon trap worked really well. I'm working on using your rock golem trap next and then this one or one of my own seeing this is more resource effective but I'm not to concerned about resources and more about comfort in taming. Anyways, love the videos man. I really appreciate how much effort you put in to these. You don't just spit out random nonsense like most other channels that cover ark. Your channel is definitely a gem in the rough.

Still works great as of 2023. I did have a little trouble getting thr crab up ramp bc my trap may have been uneven but i replaced the triangle roofs with stone stairs and it worked perfect

Make sure to double the front height if your on genesis, the low gravity makes them zoom right over.

To give another tip.. if you damage the Karkinos to much use a snow owl to heal it back to 100% then continue to knock it down. This trap is awesome by the way. But if you damage it to much heal it with your owl. Preferable do this with 2 persons

We’ve caught and tamed 6 with this trap so far.
Simpler than what I use, and fewer resources, much the same principle, but I'll go with simpler with the same results any day. Great vids Steve.
I know I'm late to the game here, but you nailed it again Steve. Found a lovely blue one in that cave with the light creatures on Fjordur. Trap worked first time, though my ladder went on backwards.
Built it too close and he was able to hit me at first… then I remembered there’s net guns now and got it done in no time👍🏼 thanks for all the helpful vids
Once again the almighty nooblets has saved the day! This trap works SOOOOOO much better than the old bear trap and dino gates I use to use before.

Thanks! Tamed a beautiful pink 145 Karkinos and then trapped a 140 orange karkinos (fav colour), which died to my boulders. Good trap, 5/5.

I feel this so hard. It used to take me like an hour and a half to build my crab trap. This is infinitely better.
Same here, mine was a ring of gates with the tower in the center for the catapult. It worked most of the time but it was far from ideal.
Wonderful guide. Worked like a charm. My aim didn't at first, so I'm waiting for an hour but that's on me. Trap was great.

First try me and my brother got both killed by the Karkinos that managed to escape (I made bad trap) and after months from that I finally got one, thanks for the very good trap! Is so simple i just needed to watch 2 times the video for remember it in game!
Edit : Just made another save file in Aberration ( my truly favorite map and the most full of LAG)
and tamed other 2 and now thanks to mods i'm *M U T A T I N G* THEM!
I built a very expensive one and it still got out easily so thanks for giving me this ine

I got my first KARKINOS with your trap. it works like a charm....
Now with the net projectile and the harpoon launcher you can just net them, place a foundation infront of their head while their netted and put a canon down and 1 hit KO them
(Ik this vid was made before the net projectile existed)

How did you get the stone ceilings to place? Mine says must have a stone foundation nearby to place, but there is a stone foundation under the double doorways

@@Dat_boi69 Easy mistake to make. Doesn't make you an idiot :) A thing about building that is good to know is that as long as there are foundations on the ground beneath where you are building you can build pretty high up. so you can build a foundation on the ground and then you can make a bridge far above the foundation. Pretty weird mechanic, but that's how they work.

You could place foundations 4x4so that the corner faces the catapult. Then you can put the fence foundations in the same direction as you have them here, and since foundations try to snap together, itll give you alittle leeway with how flat the ground is

At first, i really loved this trap alot, nowadays it just doesnt work for me anymore, always have to modify it to make it work. I had some succesful runs with it but it is to inefficient for my taste. I really like the design and creativity and it is a great video!

Trap doesn't work on Valguero, he just turns around and walks out of it after a short amount of time.
