For those that don't want to voice chat(like myself), the only advice i would give is learn the raid in T1/2 so you know what you have to do and when /how, so when you get to T3/4, you can just run through it. As long as you know what you are doing, having no voice is fine. Just make sure you leave enough time to do it as its not a 5 min thing, and if your group aren't great, you could take longer.
Got this one today, it's awesome. Mount seemed to drop from t1,t2 or t3 can't remember and the mount armor from t4. You can quite easily find groups with random people
One question, are the raid cosmetics class specific or non class specific? Do I need to level up 6 classes to get all of the cosmetics or is the cosmetic sharable across different classes? Thanks

Is the mount at 5:00 the "Reins of the Longfur Beast"? if yes, then we have only one month (October 8-November 8) to get it. Which in my opinion is not great, I would have preferred at least 1-2 weeks to have a chance to reach Torment 4 difficulty and make sure I have an endgame build working as best as I can before going for time-limited rewards like this. Please correct me if I'm wrong, I would honestly love to be wrong as I would like to at least have a try at getting that mount myself, but I'm taking the one month time-limit straight from the Blizzard News site.
This. I would like clarification on this as well. Can't seem to find an answer anywhere. Blizzard's site states to just complete the Dark Citadel. Nothing about torment 4 for a mount. Possibly there are 2 different mounts? I'm hopeful.
what do you mean 1-2 weeks to reach torment 4 before events starting? 1 month is 4 weeks. You have your two weeks to hit T4, and then another two weeks to beat the raid. Thats plenty of time.

I think raids need to always be a team activity that requires puzzle solving etc. Otherwise you're ultimately doing a Horde or NM with some mechanics. It wont be a fun experience.
While I can't say it is bad without playing it, I definitely can say that if I wanted an experience like that I would be playing something else. There is an intersection of ARPG players and MMO players. There is also an intersection of Diablo players and EA soccer players. That doesn't mean a soccer mode would belong in Diablo. Considering how much a section of the Diablo fanbase hates WoW, I wouldn't be scared if a soccer career mode was more popular than raids in D4. The soccer example is bad - but not because WoW is fantasy, but because a lot of Diablo fans don't hate soccer, or at least not as much as they hate raids. While the D4 devs are making improvements to the game, they massively failed at reading the room sometimes - when they imagined a Diablo game more challenging, slower paced, Lost Ark-ish/Black Desert-ish, for instance. The game almost died and they had to turn an 180 degree, into D3 without sets, and that second coming of D4 did well. Now they are adding... Raids? Challenging raids on top of it? On an ideal world, D4 devs could be "artsy" and slapping in crazy ideas/their vision. This is an AAA game meant to make profits for shareholders, with a fanbase that responds really well to laid back, more of the same content. This ain't and indie game, where devs can throw a Chris Wilson ego trip and tell people to leave if they don't like it. I would really like to keep those devs around, but sometimes I feel like they are in the wrong company. Minor separation here - my bias is "I hate raids and that makes me want to quit". That is irrelevant tho. My point is: Diablo fans usually don't respond well to things like that. People who enjoy things like that moved on to different games a long time ago. That strategy looks super risky for an AAA game selling skins.
I agree I used to play destiny 24/7 (before I got D4 last year) and I lioed raiding in destiny at first then stopped liking it because it forced me to have to have friends or a group on at the same time always. But D4 I can literally do all the content solo or in a group... Raids in D4 seem meh but it does have a Group finder/matchmaking so thats a great sign. I hope we don't need to have a mic tho because I play on XSX and like to watch YT videos and listen to music on my PC while I play. So hopefully I can just play the raid with randoms casually... Yeah, I’m a solo player on console. With no interest in group play. I really hope they don’t ruin (not ruined. That’s too strong a word )this game by making this raid and using team up with people, the coolest thing to do in the game. Because that’s the kind of thing that I say OK time to find something else to play. I know that stinks and probably a bad attitude on my part but it is also a reality and I’m sure I’m not alone
It's inclusion doesn't prevent you from playing the rest of the game as you have. If you truly don't want to find one other person to do this with, you just don't have to do it.
Ran this with Randoms on party finder on T2. Me and another guy well geared and had a clue. Another guy kinda mid and last guy was hard carried. Wiped a couple times on the bosses but learned each time and got all wings cleared in less than an hour. Fun new content.
Lots of close minded people here huh, I tried it on T3, cleared all wings and repeated on T4, all with randoms from party finder. The mechanics are simple enough, there’s clear text guidance on the screen. If you can read and cooperate just a little, it’s not too hard.
Just like any new player in any game with raids. D4 raids are much less complicated than lots of other games. It's much easier if you've grasped the standard mechanics of the game. Anything else is reading and looking at the rooms you're in
After having played WoW for the past year, I just cannot for the life of me get into D4... it is immediate pain to my eyes and brain, feels like I'm using straws for glasses 😅

so i have a question i cant quite find the answer to anywhere so i figured id ask my favorite diablo guy on the relevant video and hope for an answer. i just today started doing the raid (was waiting for a friend who couldnt commit much time to the game). gorshak just obliterates my friend once he goes invulnerable the first time, and im the one who put most of the build together for him! all his armor and resistances are good, and it says hes killed by burst of fury. ive literally just sat in front of him myself to let him pound on me with a similar set up and i can tank him for a good long while. any thoughts?

Ok but citadel in T4 is still easy asf so those cosmetics don't really mean anything. It would be cool if these had some hardcore variants which are red or something. Because completing the T4 citadel in HC is actually challenging.
i play solo 90% of the time and i thought i would like it until i was literally telling someone exactly what to do and they could not do it. I was telling him to pick up the crystal then take the portal. That was too hard for him. Im not sure i like this for diablo lol
Tried this just to get a feel for it. Feel sorry for the group that I join. It fell apart. It wasn't very intuitive and no one is communicated. I did try to use party chat. The only thing I saw was a single word "come here" after a few of my hellos. So yah, confusing and it requires some nerding up before doing. That is, you have to scour the internet for guides. I think it can be very difficult to start new so unlike undercity, I would wait until you have a build with all your basic stuff set. That said, the rewards, even for getting one wing done was decent. (couldn't do all three). So many references, rules and randos online just aren't very good for this. I am not a big twitch or discord gamer, not yet anyway. It doesn't seem right that you need to have several alternative chatrooms and logins to just chill with a game. Granted, that's some laziness on my part. But I usually get lost too easily in such places and don't end up doing what I went in for. It takes too long from a to b. I really am glad they got a party finder. At least this might be easier as time goes on. Thanks. Yours was one of the first I could find.
WHY for the love of God can Developers just make a raid than can be played solo, OR co op. Now if I want to do these, I'm going to have to shell out more money for a ps+ subscription. Which also begs the question why do I need ps+ for multi player, course we all know the answer is simply corporate greed.
completely agree, if i have to pay a subscription i'd rather play ff 14 or Wow, not diablo. This forced multiplayer is not for encouraging peace in the world, it's just to squeeze money from gamepass/ps plus subscriptions

I get no pleasure participating in the dark citadel, due to my PTSD. I completed it and considering how sad the mount reward is, expected to at least get it. But no. F#*k blizzard for forcing continuous group play for an attempt to get the cosmetic. IT SHOULD BE GUARANTEED!

depends on how they are gonna deal with the legacy gear and new paragon levels, probably would be faster but not by that much, i would expect old itens to be marked as legacy and not be as good anymore
There will be so, so many people willing to help you. I've been raiding for over 15 years. There are *always* people that love to teach and will spend hours showing you what to do and being patient with you while you learn. They are called Sherpas. And you'll learn that it's not as difficult as it seems as well :D

The only thing i enjoy more than this new mode is how horrified the hardcore single players are of a mode forcing them to play with others. Didnt your mother ever tell you to stop gaming and go play with your friends? Now you can do both in diablo 4. Go call your mother!
It's great to have a co-op in Diablo. Now I literally have content that is unavailable in a game I bought. And before those of you saying that gathering a party is easy, yeah it's not.
I do agree and think everything in every game should have the option to be solo or coop.. But I mean the Raids have Matchmaking/group finder so its not that bad.

If people quit over having to group for a specific challenge in a game that has multiplayer, the game probably isn't for them. They could do the 99% of other solo content and just accept not every little thing is for them.
The only thing from the expansion I have zero interest in. Diablo was always a solo blaster why forcing WoW in it. Oh well I hope they don't destroy the solo core of the game....
@@Barn80 As a Diablo fan playing the franchise since 1997 I do care a lot about this game. Heck even bought new PC just for D4 release and Diablo was always my go to place to unwind from work. No chats, PVP's, co-ops, toxic players and other noise. The game already suffers from immature console player base ( hitting the same emote message for 100 times while waiting for the world boss or legion to spawn ). As a car guy I bought myself a summer ride to enjoy it myself not to be forced to share it with someone that has zero respect for cars or me. If this thing stays just one of the things to do then fine but time will tell...

I really like the concept of this. It reminds me of parts of Lost Ark, but within the Diablo universe which I love. I hope that is good and continue to expand on it. I’d love to see other "raid" content for the game, like an 8 man or 16 man encounters with more mechanics. Thanks for the video.
They got it just from Diablo Immortal. So i think it will be done solo later and when.... like a lot ppl hope... a kind of groupfinding tool will come, its even better... as long as they find a way to stop leechers. Blizz need group content / leaderboards so ppl will play longer than just till they finished the build they want. Devs cant keep up with content in a solo experience competing with grinders. But locking gear just behind that is bad. They tried it with warbands in DI and also rolled back a lot there. So let them try and hopefully fix it according to players feedback.
Yeah. It is allways funny how if you can chose who you invite ppl will complain others being picky but when it fills in automaticly ppl call out leechers. And both things are not even unreasonable. No wonder ppl wants to play online games 80%+ solo. Think they should have both options inside the tool.
My biggest concern about the raids is having unique rewards locked behind skill gated content. I get that people of all skill levels play this game and I fully support having content of varying difficulty to appeal to a wider audience. I don't care if doing lower end content means it takes me longer to earn the rewards, just as long as I still have access to those rewards. But I fear that raids might be way out of my skill level and I hate the idea of not being able to earn those awesome cosmetic sets.
In any game, there should be pinnacle content thats for the more hardcore crowd. You should be able to earn everything at your own pace and with this system you could play in eternal realm and still earn said cosmetics. I agree with FOMO crap being aspirational content is not the right route but at least with this system it will always be available.
Okay, then by your logic there is no reason to do the content making it pointless to make and include in the first place. Not everyone has to have everything. There are people that don't play HC and this won't ever have those titles. There are cosmetics that were tied to events that people will likely never be able to earn again now that they are gone. If people really want a cosmetic but aren't willing to buckle down and earn it despite being outside of their comfort zone, *they don't really need it.*
I think one of the better things they could easily add to the raid is challenges on specific encounters like your party can't die, can't stop in place for a certain amount of time, time challenges, don't take over a certain amount of party damage, and other things that give really good regards like mats to get mythics uniques, or get 20 of the temper resets etc or a whole extra cache for the week Just small stuff like that could easily add to replayability

I've enjoyed the Dark Citadel stuff. As a pretty casual player it was challenging enough to keep me and my buddies entertained.

I have gotten a retemper scroll from every big 200 chest at the end of hordes
I got like 10 uniques doing these its worth it. Played with a random team and never done anything like this and we succeeded

We finished it on T4, but didn`t got the rewards. (cosmetics) nothing at all. Is it bugged?
After having played WoW for the past year, I just cannot for the life of me get into D4... it is immediate pain to my eyes and brain, feels like I'm using straws for glasses 😅

We get to the part you showed at the beginning. And just simply can not get past it. Stuck everytime. The people from the party finder didn’t help much either. We just can’t seem to complete it 😩
so i have a question i cant quite find the answer to anywhere so i figured id ask my favorite diablo guy on the relevant video and hope for an answer. i just today started doing the raid (was waiting for a friend who couldnt commit much time to the game). gorshak just obliterates my friend once he goes invulnerable the first time, and im the one who put most of the build together for him! all his armor and resistances are good, and it says hes killed by burst of fury. ive literally just sat in front of him myself to let him pound on me with a similar set up and i can tank him for a good long while. any thoughts?
How do u do the second wing of the citadel i cant figure it out
I thought we get the hole set and mount when we clear all 3 on T4?? That how i understood what they said in the campfire chat?? But i did it and got absolutly nothing....?? Is it like a rly rare drop? Like mythic uniques? I heard from a lot of people that they only got one or two Transmogs from the T4 stuff after like 50 to 100 runs?????? Can someone confirm that?

A bunch of position-based RNG and one-shot mechanics made the raid a total chore to play through. I hope this is a one and done thing in this game.
are the cosmetics of t1-t3 and the one for t4 a weekly one..or all seaosn...which reward changes every week?

I know a lot of people dont want to be forced into groups thats fine. But the 3 wings raid is the best thing in the game right now and i'm really fucking glad they added it

Ok but citadel in T4 is still easy asf so those cosmetics don't really mean anything. It would be cool if these had some hardcore variants which are red or something. Because completing the T4 citadel in HC is actually challenging.
We keep wiping as soon as we activate the portal to go into the spirit realm 😕

i play solo 90% of the time and i thought i would like it until i was literally telling someone exactly what to do and they could not do it. I was telling him to pick up the crystal then take the portal. That was too hard for him. Im not sure i like this for diablo lol

Tried this just to get a feel for it. Feel sorry for the group that I join. It fell apart. It wasn't very intuitive and no one is communicated. I did try to use party chat. The only thing I saw was a single word "come here" after a few of my hellos. So yah, confusing and it requires some nerding up before doing. That is, you have to scour the internet for guides. I think it can be very difficult to start new so unlike undercity, I would wait until you have a build with all your basic stuff set. That said, the rewards, even for getting one wing done was decent. (couldn't do all three). So many references, rules and randos online just aren't very good for this. I am not a big twitch or discord gamer, not yet anyway. It doesn't seem right that you need to have several alternative chatrooms and logins to just chill with a game. Granted, that's some laziness on my part. But I usually get lost too easily in such places and don't end up doing what I went in for. It takes too long from a to b. I really am glad they got a party finder. At least this might be easier as time goes on.

WHY for the love of God can Developers just make a raid than can be played solo, OR co op. Now if I want to do these, I'm going to have to shell out more money for a ps+ subscription. Which also begs the question why do I need ps+ for multi player, course we all know the answer is simply corporate greed.

completely agree, if i have to pay a subscription i'd rather play ff 14 or Wow, not diablo. This forced multiplayer is not for encouraging peace in the world, it's just to squeeze money from gamepass/ps plus subscriptions

Personally, I'm not doing this if it requires voice chat coordination. Or at the most, one and done. Been there and done that in Destiny 2. Creates toxic players.
@@huddleawIt’s only one more person than a GM nightfall and surely less challenging. If you played Destiny 2 then you know what to do…learn it quickly, hit it hard. And this is coming from someone who lost his officer position in his D2 clan because he wanted the sherpas to teach master raiding to qualified players as well as normal raids, and none of his colleagues wanted to put in the effort. I get the concern. I hate gatekeeping and toxicity. So get serious, get in, get out.

I completed it and considering how sad the mount reward is, expected to at least get it.

depends on how they are gonna deal with the legacy gear and new paragon levels, probably would be faster but not by that much, i would expect old itens to be marked as legacy and not be as good anymore

There will be so, so many people willing to help you. I've been raiding for over 15 years. There are *always* people that love to teach and will spend hours showing you what to do and being patient with you while you learn. They are called Sherpas. And you'll learn that it's not as difficult as it seems as well :D

The only thing i enjoy more than this new mode is how horrified the hardcore single players are of a mode forcing them to play with others. Didnt your mother ever tell you to stop gaming and go play with your friends? Now you can do both in diablo 4. Go call your mother!
It's great to have a co-op in Diablo. Now I literally have content that is unavailable in a game I bought. And before those of you saying that gathering a party is easy, yeah it's not.

Rubbish co-op content when 85% of the player base play solo. Here's an idea Blizzard create new contents that is solo-able and group friendly.
I do agree and think everything in every game should have the option to be solo or coop.. But I mean the Raids have Matchmaking/group finder so its not that bad.
100% agree. Have to wait till tonight. When you can play the season on consoles. But curious how easy group finder actually is without a keyboard and chatting because people on consoles don’t/cant do that as much.

If people quit over having to group for a specific challenge in a game that has multiplayer, the game probably isn't for them. They could do the 99% of other solo content and just accept not every little thing is for them.

The only thing from the expansion I have zero interest in. Diablo was always a solo blaster why forcing WoW in it. Oh well I hope they don't destroy the solo core of the game....

@@Barn80 As a Diablo fan playing the franchise since 1997 I do care a lot about this game. Heck even bought new PC just for D4 release and Diablo was always my go to place to unwind from work. No chats, PVP's, co-ops, toxic players and other noise. The game already suffers from immature console player base ( hitting the same emote message for 100 times while waiting for the world boss or legion to spawn ). As a car guy I bought myself a summer ride to enjoy it myself not to be forced to share it with someone that has zero respect for cars or me. If this thing stays just one of the things to do then fine but time will tell...

I started playing in original D2 back then and this raid is one of the main selling points to me. It's inclusion doesn't affect the solo game at all. You sound old and afraid of change.
Its intended as an online game, it should have multiplayer content for those that want it and I assure you a lot of people want this.

I really like the concept of this. It reminds me of parts of Lost Ark, but within the Diablo universe which I love. I hope that is good and continue to expand on it. I’d love to see other "raid" content for the game, like an 8 man or 16 man encounters with more mechanics. Thanks for the video.
The word guide is not accurate. You ALMOST go through the steps of completing it but not quite.
They got it just from Diablo Immortal. So i think it will be done solo later and when.... like a lot ppl hope... a kind of groupfinding tool will come, its even better... as long as they find a way to stop leechers. Blizz need group content / leaderboards so ppl will play longer than just till they finished the build they want. Devs cant keep up with content in a solo experience competing with grinders. But locking gear just behind that is bad. They tried it with warbands in DI and also rolled back a lot there. So let them try and hopefully fix it according to players feedback.

Yeah. It is allways funny how if you can chose who you invite ppl will complain others being picky but when it fills in automaticly ppl call out leechers. And both things are not even unreasonable. No wonder ppl wants to play online games 80%+ solo. Think they should have both options inside the tool.

I love the idea of a Lilith difficulty raid for solos
My biggest concern about the raids is having unique rewards locked behind skill gated content. I get that people of all skill levels play this game and I fully support having content of varying difficulty to appeal to a wider audience. I don't care if doing lower end content means it takes me longer to earn the rewards, just as long as I still have access to those rewards. But I fear that raids might be way out of my skill level and I hate the idea of not being able to earn those awesome cosmetic sets.
In any game, there should be pinnacle content thats for the more hardcore crowd. You should be able to earn everything at your own pace and with this system you could play in eternal realm and still earn said cosmetics. I agree with FOMO crap being aspirational content is not the right route but at least with this system it will always be available.
The raids are alot more of a gear check/knowledge check than a skill check, just look up guides and any one can clear them.
Okay, then by your logic there is no reason to do the content making it pointless to make and include in the first place. Not everyone has to have everything. There are people that don't play HC and this won't ever have those titles. There are cosmetics that were tied to events that people will likely never be able to earn again now that they are gone. If people really want a cosmetic but aren't willing to buckle down and earn it despite being outside of their comfort zone, *they don't really need it.*
Truly participation trophy mentality. I want to be rewarded just for existing! 🤦♂️
I think one of the better things they could easily add to the raid is challenges on specific encounters like your party can't die, can't stop in place for a certain amount of time, time challenges, don't take over a certain amount of party damage, and other things that give really good regards like mats to get mythics uniques, or get 20 of the temper resets etc or a whole extra cache for the week
Just small stuff like that could easily add to replayability
Na just keep it fun and semi casual... I play this game because I don't like destiny... Turning this into destiny/a mmo like will be horrible.

Content creators create a community of zombies so that people keep coming back to their own channel or page over and over again. A person's natural urge to explore is simply killed.

I'm too stupid to do this. I destroy people's runs and once I'm gone they're doing it.. I have res capped. Armor capped. Loads of dmg reduction and I just die during boss fight. Need to stop playing games
