The "my bad" is definitely a culture thing lol and only used for minor things like bumping into someone or if you were to forget something at the store while doing a grocery run. If its something more serious depending on the level of hood haha you might start off with "my bad" and then elaborate on how sorry you are without actually saying "I'm sorry" but its way more heart felt than just saying "I'm sorry". Crazy typing this out. Love y'all and enjoyed the down to earth video.
You are 100% correct here! I literally thought the EXACT thing and thought it best to comment on it, mainly for Savannah's sake, since she doesn't seem to believe that saying "My bad" can ever be equally as genuine or appropriate as saying the words "I'm sorry."
Savannah .... My take: Josh doesn't need to "culturally appropriate" or "culturally assimilate" to your preferences in order for you to value and respect his words. Simply put: Him saying "My bad." is equivalent to your saying "I'm sorry." You should know that the two terms, indeed, mean the EXACT thing for "most" folks who come from an "urban" background. Further, if Josh did happen to hit/kill someone in a car accident and chose to say "My bad" instead of "I'm sorry" using a very apologetic tone, there would be nothing "wrong" with that. And, yes, even Ry can grow up saying "My bad" and/or I'm sorry when she gets older, and you both can teach her the differences in cultural context. Finally, keep in mind, that just because someone utters the words, "I'm sorry," doesn't mean that they are sincere in their expression given their tone. So, those two words alone are not enough and do not always trump the phrase "My bad" simply because one, to some, may "sound good" or "sound better." It seems you may have underlying cultural conflict that could be leading you to this level of nit-pickiness and dare I say "classism" or "elitism" that is at play here. I AM NOT ENTIRELY SURE, but I do know that "needing" to hear "I'm sorry" vs. "My bad." as a condition to validating your spouse is simply WRONG, especially if it goes so far as withholding affection. Jesus considered even the lowliest of men and women and embraced their HEART. Josh's HEART and love for you should speak volumes over his choice of words for showing remorse.

TIP! If you spread softened butter under turkey skin, it stays juicy!!! Trust me Josh, I don't like dry turkey as well! Oh, and you have to keep bating the turkey every 20-25 minutes.
