Thank you for this review! I am so drawn to this deck and am planning to order it for my autumn deck. I am one of those people who likes the Llewellyn card stock. I have small hands and it does make for easy shuffling :)
This is such a beautiful deck! Though I am only a novice and feel this deck gives off more of an advanced vibe, I do love the story aspect. It's definitely a deck I'd love to own and get to know over time as I grow in my practice.
Hi Simon! My husband just ordered this last night and it’s his first deck. He resonated with the graphic novel style artwork and he happens to be a Star Wars fan. :) We are both newbies and cannot wait to see how he reads with this.
Finally added this deck to my collection. Resisted for a while but after winning a gift card for the best Halloween costume as a witch, I finally gave in. I like the deck better than I thought I would. The guidebook is great as well and easy to understand.
I like the storytelling element of the deck. The figures in it are a very much of a sort of feminine sameness, long flowing hair, slender, I am interested how anyone who doesn't identify with that would read with it. But the colours and art are lovely.
The book is fantastic! I’m tempted to get this deck just so I can read the stories! 😀 Wonderful detailed walkthrough. I look forward to hearing your review on The Tarot Times. 😀❤️
I love the combination of Sleeping Beauty imagery, Star Wars wisdom, and a sort of down-the-rabbit-hole / Alice in Wonderland quality of that introduction.
I have the Dark Wood on the shelf in my sacred space room. I’m waiting for cooler weather to work with it. The book is lovely. Can you imagine, Simon, if this had been an Indy deck? Looking forward to Tarot Times fun and review.
So glad you got this deck! I just love it, especially the book, and there’s a great 4 part video series for working with it done by Pamela Chen and Leeza Robertson on their channel High Magic Divination, if you’re interested.
This is such a beautiful deck, but the guide book is one of the finest ones I have come across. Thank you for reading the guidebook with the cards. This video was a beautiful experience in itself. Thank you! -Reya..
Another one added to my wish list! I agree I like the borders and also I like the story and graphic novel of it all. I love Star Wars, but it wasn't until someone had me watch them in order that I really got into them. You are correct Episode V was the second one. The technology in the 70's wasn't advanced enough to start the movies with Episode I, II, III etc which is why the original is Episode IV. Was surprised to see that quote there! Interesting concept this deck!!
Great review Simon. I really like how the borders go beyond the borders. It reminds me of Robins fav deck, the RWS 2.0. On the downside - It blows my mind how deck publishers can still, in this day and age be putting out decks on less than great card stock. Sasha and Abigail have put in so much effort in creating this stunning deck, so I feel the card stock should equal that. It's such a pitty. I have so many Llewellyn decks that I purchased because I love the images (as I do on this deck) but then I end up not using them because quite simply, the cards don't feeling good in your hands. Just my opinion.
SIMON I enjoyed your review on the Dark Wood Tarot. I've had this deck on my Wish list. The book sounds amazing I love Stories Books too. I will be getting the deck this Sunday 🥰❤
I went for it and bought the deck after you and Beccas video 😆. I had some issues with printing but it’s nothing major that would make me go through the trouble of returning. I genuinely love the art as it feeds my Disney aesthetic love affair. (Which is why the Crystal Visions Tarot is another mass produced classic that may compliment this deck. I have been using The Dark Wood along side my Tarot of Vampyres). Anyway, amazing walk through. Thanks so much Simon 🖤
OOOh i love this, haven't watched it all through as mine is coming later this month, one of my last indulgences! I love your spread cloth...where and who made it for you, its gorgeous. much love little bro xxx
I wanted this when it came out, and held off. Not sure why? But definitely going to have to get this deck. Think its one that will really grow on me. Thank-you for great walk through again xX
Thank you for the walkthrough. I would buy this deck to take on a camping adventure in the bush here in Australia. It would be great to read and explore the deck round the campfire. Btw I noticed the fault on another card.(check back of 9 cups)
Love this deck although agree re card stock. It feels like Sasha and Abigail have been let down by the production. In my opinion, the book is better than the actual deck! The small cards inhibit the images. That aside, fab deck for a dark night 😊. I use mine in conjunction with the Bohemian Gothic for the full shadow effect.
I like the concept of this deck. Yes I have a copy. You must have seen this: Vintage Black & White Bert Bakker Dutch Rider Waite Smith Tarot Cards Deck 1970s It is on eBay.
Simon I am so glad that you are not a riffle shuffler. Makes me feel so much better because I cannot riffle shuffle to save my live. Have to say you are much better than me. 😊😊
Try Watkins and Treadwells. Watkins has impressive selection of main stream decks in particular. Treadwells run some really interesting courses, online naturally now, which are worth checking out.
Thank you for this. I have seen this deck at the bookstore and thought about buying it. No offense at all, I'm glad I didn't. I can't connect with this artwork. Thank you for your review.

The replacement cards came too, so now I can really work with it! 😍

This deck is definitely on my wish list. Absolutely beautiful ✨
I really love this deck! 😁❤️ And i absolutely adore that the ten of cups is a family of wolves 😍🐺 Hope to buy it someday.

Yes, it would’ve been even more incredible!

Looks cool. I’m staying away from random purchases for a while lol
Can’t go back to sleep so perfect timing with this :)
What an interesting deck! The book seems to be special also. Thank you for the walk through🤗

I’ve had it for a number of years. I believe it was just from Amazon. How are you lovely? 🙏🏼❤️
Thanks for the walk through, this deck doesn't move me although the books sounds wonderful.
I wanted this when it came out, and held off. Not sure why? But definitely going to have to get this deck. Think its one that will really grow on me. Thank-you for great walk through again xX
I do love this deck, i just loved your walkthrough 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thank you 🙏🏼
Outstanding book, and lovely set of cards real story telling.👍
Thank you for the walkthrough. I would buy this deck to take on a camping adventure in the bush here in Australia. It would be great to read and explore the deck round the campfire. Btw I noticed the fault on another card.(check back of 9 cups)
Thank you for spotting that! I’ve emailed Llewellyn

Still waiting for my copy from amazon that I pre-ordered! Love llewellyn card stock, I know I am in the minority
Mine has arrived and I love it, so beautiful and reads well

Only in my dreams!
Great and beautiful; deck...wowww...
This is going to be my September deck. I’m looking forward to working with it.
I’m interested in hearing your thoughts! 😉
Simon I am so glad that you are not a riffle shuffler. Makes me feel so much better because I cannot riffle shuffle to save my live. Have to say you are much better than me. 😊😊
It’s not necessary.... at least that’s what I tell myself 🙏🏼❤️
I ordered the Golden Dawn, but so far I can't get into this one. I do like the animals and nature cards of the deck.
The first few pages aren't numbered. There are 304 pages
The 4 of pentacles is mandrake
The card quality seems like it’s similar to the Celtic Tarot by Kristofferson. Beautiful tarot but very delicate..
Typical Llewellyn
The Hermit’s Cave that serpents eye !! Lol
Hello, please could you give me direction to some witchy store in London where i could get tarot cards and crystals? much appreciated. Thanx

There is a reason that card was damaged
I love the artwork of this deck, I just wish there was a better balance of male / female characters. Puts me off from buying it.
Nice deck, but not my aesthetic.
