  • Turn LED Noodles into a REALISTIC ball of flame ! Electronics tutorial. In this video I show exactly how I made the huge ball of flame in my Smaug project, step by step. In this project i use a Wemos D1 Mini board, a Caernarfon Castle Board from Terrain Tronics, a reed switch and of course Noodle LED's.

    Great tutorial! I absolutely want to incorporate flickering fire in my next Diorama build, so I'll be coming back to this video again for sure!

    Another spot on project! Do you know if it's possible to use led noodles to create more of a lightning flicker effect?

      Thanks Rob! Yes, that is totally possible.. its all in how you program the WEMOS D1 Mini board. You can programme it to switch on and off at any interval you like and even in random patterns. You can also get different colours, like white or blue light so, yes totally possible :)

      @@Nat1videos cool, thanks. I made a sculpture of a dragon being attacked through the clouds from below and wanted to make it look like there was a storm below. The flicker effect I achieved was disappointing, not very lightning like.
