Hi Ric Just watched your latest video at Pontefract, and I would like to thank that lovely lovely wife of yours for making an old man very very happy, when she went off and did her "own thing " bless her she looked at n gauge, thank you Pauline, you will be my favourite person for ever and ever
Hi Paul, we do try to film N gauge but there wasn't as much there as usual so well done on Pauline for filming it! It's the first exhibition we have filmed since October so I think we were both a bit rusty to be honest. My filming was definitely a bit shakier than usual. All the best Rick
Hi Rick. At first, I did think there was that much there!! But wow great Layout's and some good Murch as well!!! Nice Passenger cars. Was that Dog food? Just so many great Layouts wow nice!!!! Well, you have a nether great video and I do thank you for showing it and have a great weekend too cheers!!!
Hi Brad, yes bigger than you think as it was 2 rooms. It could have been dog food I'm not sure but there was a doggie first aid kit! I see you have done a "Band On The Run" video. Love that album and I will check it out later. All the best Rick
Great video as always ! Some great layouts and stalls. Great to see continental stuff for sale. I model foreign railways and you can’t go wrong with Roco / Fleischmann. Expensive but the quality is excellent . Cheers !
Lovely layouts and stalls there! Always enjoy an amble round a show. My next one is Doncaster next weekend which ive been looking forward to. Enjoyable video as always 👍
Nice to see little local exhibitions at grass roots level are still going strong. Some very interesting layouts on display. I particularly liked the Thomas themed one, something like that is what really captures the interest of the young kids and draws them to the hobby. Especially when they can have a go at driving an engine on the layout. European HO I do find interesting, but the problem is at brand new it is more expensive than British OO gauge. So I may be stuck for availability with what I can afford to buy, especially for second hand. Nice video anyways.
Thanks for watching Alex, there are still lots of clubs putting on exhibitions. The only ones who don't seem to get a good crowd are the overpriced ones and those that don't promote the show adequately. Cheers Rick
Thanks for video on the Pontefract show. 41:20 The model of Woodhead was very interesting. The streams and rugged surroundings were really well presented. I was interested in your comments about current uses for the tunnels. Excuse the pun ha ha…
Ha ha, National grid run huge power cables through the double tunnel. This is good as it means the tunnel is kept in good condition should they ever need to be reopened. All the best Rick
Good show but have to factor in petrol costs and £10 entry fee. We have a show not far from us this year- Sat 6th - Sun 7th - Tame Valley Model Railway Club at Longdendale High School, Spring Street, Hollingworth Hyde, Greater Manchester.
Hi Rick & Pauline, there where quite so really good new layouts on display. And something a lot of people look over, when you do a layout, It can be simple or fantasy, no problem with that, but a lot of times there is more to it than just the display, there is often a lot of research behind it, and a very good example was this layout of several scenes compress into one scene even the big scrap yard, one must do all the research to get that into visualization. So besides the layout it self there is a genuine intrest of the builder to make that choice, and the nice thing is when you speak to the they poor out their hart about it. A guy in Spain that I know, he's a big fan of the Frits Lang movie "Metropolis", and he did a sf layout of the city, with trains running in the air etc., He used the German Zeppelin loco's for that, the result was the best non realistic layout I ever have seen. But the point is you only could realize this, if you have a passion for the theme, and that makes the hobby to me go beyond what you see. @ Pauline, don't let him bully you about your car, wait to he desperately need you car and remind him😜🤣 great video again👍 ps I was first to like😂
Hi Danny, yes agree with you on those points and the Metropolis layout sounds amazing. Pauline's car is bordering on classic status and I'm just awaiting a Car RUclipsr to do video on it. 🚗🚗🚗 All the best Rick
Hi Leslie, sorry to hear that. Not a lot i can say really other than we wish you well. I'm glad you enjoy our somewhat unusual videos all the best Rick.
Hello Pauline and Rick, this looks a brilliant show, two continental layouts and lots of European stock, who was the trader at 22.00. Minutes, only they had a lots of things I would like to buy. The Triang suspension bridge I had years ago, it had orange coloured suspension wire panels, not the grey ones on that bridge. Pauline sounded on top form, how many blue wagons did she buy! Could we have a bit of an update regarding Bobby, the wonder dog! Best Wishes Harry
Hi Harry, I'm not sure on the traders for this one it was all a bit rushed as I forgot my spare battery. Thete is a list of traders at the end of the video. We got the Bachmann NSE Brake van pack, Bobby is in tomorrow's vlog (filmed over Christmas and New Year break) and he is due in the vets again to see about his prospective op. All the best Rick
The trader at 22:00 was Contikits. I bought a loco from them and had to look in the show guide as I could not see their name on the stall. They had a huge amount of continental stock.
Great show and video, R & P. The table with all the Roco would merit a video all of itself! The junkyard layout- totally deserving of that loving cup trophy! Whenever someone asks what scale is "S-Scale" I always say "Hott wheels and Matchbox cars"... seems to be the easiest clarification. I also would have paid and had a sign made for myself... just picking the shape... oh, and a name. That magenta and gold steamer... that was a wow... and I would have run it. lol Last question... at about 30:00 were a series of blue coaches, I assume BR from nationalization days? COuld you tell me any more about them, they were very sharp.
The dark blue with red stripe coaches were GNER livery Mk 4, they still run on the Kings Cross to Leeds trains with LNER class 91 electric locomotives now in red and white livery. They were built in 1988 by British Railways Engineering Limited
Hi Anthony, yes a good show with a lot of traders. As the comment below from @cedercam says they Mk 4 in GNER livery and they do look nice. All the best Rick
2:59 Looks like an USA articulated container car / trailer carrier 19:24 Top one is a Budd type Eurofima in 'Pop' colors, bottom one is a Dutch 'Plan K' 19:58 Wine car by Piko, these were later updated by Sachsenmodelle with NEM couplers 20:36 That one matches the Dome car 43:19 The shameless Fleischmann clones, up to the destination boards
I was wondering if you could tell me what the custom sign vendor was at 23:30? I wanted to make layout controls with a sign attached and want to have something made locally!
All these fantastic layouts we see. Isn’t it about time we have a view of yours Rick 😀😀
It sure is! I really need to make a start on it this year. Thanks for watching Barry.
Hello Rick and Pauline, wow so much continental stuff for sale and great prices loved the vollmer container crane. All the best to you both.
And you Deano.

Hi Simon, it was quite a walk between the 2 halls.
Bit far for me, so glad you showed us around, not often so many layouts and second hand at the same venue, nice.

6201 use to be a static display at Butlins in Ingoldmells in the 60s before offered up for preservation.

When i worked at Shirebrook West depot in the 70s we called the 25s that we had "Spin Dryers" they were useless on coal trains.
One of my favourite locos but I have 56 and 58 to help out.
I was wondering if you could tell me what the custom sign vendor was at 23:30? I wanted to make layout controls with a sign attached and want to have something made locally!
Rons Totems 🚂
Definitely Joe Beasley's cheeky monkey😂
Watched it the other day lol. Also I'd forgot he was reunited with him on "This Time" 🐒🐵🙈🙉🙊
I did see that too, very funny🙉😂@@wellchuffedrailways
