    It's interesting how that phone looks outdated, like it came out 50 years ago, but, let's be real - 10 years is a blink of an eye. Now imagine Samsung Galaxy S9 looking funny and outdated for another 10 years. I'm scared how fast the technology is progressing...

    • @KeZzYT
      @KeZzYT 6 лет назад +33

      Srećko Delibašić It won't, we have come to the point, where phones won't change that much. The progress won't be as fast. The screen can't be improved much, the camera won't change that much. In 10 years, a finger print sensor wont be around, the battery will be much much better, the camera will be behind the screen. Won't be crazy different.

    •  6 лет назад +3

      Alpha Wolf I am aware of that. We'll see :D

    • @MatthiasSdun
      @MatthiasSdun 6 лет назад +5

      Srećko Delibašić Yep, you name it, man. The speed of development is enormous. Especially in terms of camera resolution/ frame rates / image quality.

    • @TheRazor0510
      @TheRazor0510 6 лет назад +8

      Alpha Wolf I used to think the same in 2011 .. "It cant get much better than this right?"
      Not saying that you are wrong, it is true that processors are reaching their limits, but I wouldn't say it is a sure thing

    •  6 лет назад +7

      Remember, for example, PS1? We used to think, back in the 90's and 00's - ''It can't be better than this'', but the thing is that, in that time, it was the best thing, and our brain adapted to it. Same thing with the PS2, PS3, and especially with the PS4.
      The progress isn't going to be as fast as it was before, but I think we can't even imagine what is ahead of us... Maybe the term ''technology'' will dissappear, and we'll rely on something completely beyond our current imagination.
      Human's brain is more infinite than the Universe itself. :D

    I don't care about screen-to-body ratio, having a decent balance between the small bezels and usable size is way better IMO than having literally a screen instead of a phone which you cannot hold properly in your hand. I think the Xperia Z series did this the best by having relatively thin bezels, but still having areas where you can hold your phone while you're learning or watching a video. Also 4-5" screens should make a comeback since not everybody wants a frying pan.

    This really brings some memories. I remember when Android was just introduced and I got some cheap Vodafone 858 Smart, and it was running Android 2.1 or something like that. I just remember that CPU in that thing sucked even then, and basic apps lagged like hell on it. Even UI was not smooth all the time. And yeah, I still got that thing around and I "play" with it from time to time. I rooted it, installed whole new software and stuff but it still lags, hah'. But yeah, it's interesting to see how far we've come in only ten years.

    I loved the "Dream", I bought it on day one. The reason being that it wasn't an IPhone and it had a physical keyboard.
    I've played a lot emulators back in the day on the G1, so if you've mapped the buttons right you had a great emulator machine.
    I also loved the jailbreak scene of this model, I think my g1 still haves firmware 2.3.4 on it. Downside is that it's really demanding on the battery, so you had like 14 hours of battery juice with minimal usage.
    Still I loved it.

    Man what a throwback. I recently found my first phone, the HTC Evo Shift. I thought it was the coolest thing ever back then, both touch screen, decent screen size for the time, and a slide out keyboard. It ran on android 2.3...

After they dropped the ball after having all of that momentum Samsung came along and started to carry the torch for Android.

For the amount of money you can get for them it's worth sticking them in a box out of the way and who knows maybe in another 10 or 20 years they'll be techno artifacts worth a bit of money??? My first android tablet has a full size usb port ideal to attach a mouse or keyboard and its rare to get them now I've only seen it on the fusion range. Why did early android work so well with such a low power phone?

    Aron you should go back to the old intro and outro of your videos. I really liked it

    Kinda miss slide out keyboards. The Motorola milestone / droid was always a favourite of mine.

    I miss having a qwerty keyboard. I wish some phones still had them.

    A virtual keyboard wouldnt have fit on the smartphones of the time wich is proven with the tiny keyboard on the first iphone in wich the keyboard was pretty much unuasable

    This phone is so close to my HTC TyTN II that made me realize how far behind Apple Google was and go ahead pick iPhone over Android.
