The Galaxy Y is my introduction to Android and Android Development as a whole. My uncle was about to throw one away back in 2012 when I was 15, so I asked him for it. Lots of great memories with this phone. In the Philippines and India, the rom development for this device was really active to as far as 2015-2016. I still have mine somewhere. Probably still works with the battery replaced.

Yeah but I'm not sure the rom developers are from india, mostly I found custom roms on this mobile which is really amazing, I had this phone and I used to experiment with lots of rom.. This mobile is really helpful for developers.. I used to have this at the same year like 2015 to '17

The actual lockscreen can be seen at 12:00, the old network and SIM icons are still in the status bar, and the uninstall dialog at 4:17 is the one from Gingerbread

Lol I still have one of these, and I'm using it as a second SIM cardholder, now I'm going to install custom ROM because it looks really cool.

The AUX antenna works like how radios have those wires.
Back in 2011 I had a phone with FM and a broken pair of heaphones. So I cut off the wire completely and the FM radio still worked

I literally cried during this video, because it's the phone I grew up with, I remember upgrading Android from 1.6 to 2.3.6 Gingerbread, thinking it's revolutionary and a huge technological feat, I used to play Pou, Jetpack Joyride, and a few 3D racing games(I don't remember what it is but it's space themed and low res) in it, even the music player has a wide surround and an "externalization" option for its EQ, and I can't stress enough how nostalgic it is, so thank you so much for bringing nostalgia to me my man, you're amazing! I'm currently watching from a Redmi Note 11

I still use my Samsung Galaxy J1 Mini about the same size of that. Since Android don't support Android 6 below, it can install limited apps. But most of the OG apps still playable. I mainly use it as a gameboy now. Filled it with GBA Roms and installed an Emulator

This was my first Android phone ever. After I managed to get it stuck in a bootloop I figured out how to recover it by flashing a stock rom with Odin. After that I discovered custom roms, and I never had a rom installed for more than a week before being replaced by another. Now I'm using a Pixel 7 after using iPhones for a few years, And I have to say that Android has come a long way since back then. Installing a custom rom isn´t that interesting anymore (at least for me), as most features are already in the stock rom.

You can move installed apps to the SD card to save space. It's how I have 8 classic games on my 2.3.5 android phone and I still have roughly 73mb left for more

I still remember 320x240 phones from Walmart back in the day. Couldn't run their own software without crashing. 64MB of RAM!
