The Galaxy Y is my introduction to Android and Android Development as a whole. My uncle was about to throw one away back in 2012 when I was 15, so I asked him for it. Lots of great memories with this phone. In the Philippines and India, the rom development for this device was really active to as far as 2015-2016. I still have mine somewhere. Probably still works with the battery replaced.
Yeah but I'm not sure the rom developers are from india, mostly I found custom roms on this mobile which is really amazing, I had this phone and I used to experiment with lots of rom.. This mobile is really helpful for developers.. I used to have this at the same year like 2015 to '17
Shoot, just posted a very similar comment before reading yours, had mine back in the year of its launch and replaced it with the 1st gen Galaxy, great little Android bigger, and easy to flash too 😂
Still works pare, my Samsung Galaxy Ace is still working and Y is a much later version of that. Hahaha. But we need to install custom ROMs. Pero text text nalang talaga. Hahahaha. Yan lang dahilan kaya preferred ko Samsung andaming active sa custom roms dati.
I had a Galaxy Mini S5570B (basically the Y's predecessor/bigger brother) and this brought back a lot of memories of 2011-2012. Used to play a ton of Where's My Water and Drag Racing on it. Simpler times for sure back then.
I used to have this phone and used it up until 2017, I enjoyed it! I still have it somewhere but this video brings back so many memories so thank you ❤❤
I actually had a Galaxy Y2 and it also had such limited storage as well. But the camera was actually quite decent and even the panorama feature was far better than it deserved to be. In fact I go the feeling the panorama app is better than some modern phones.

it was released in 2011 with android 2.3.6( i mean imagine putting android 2.3.6 on a new 2015 phone). another thing, this phone has a arm v6 processor which was common on budget phones in 2010(?)-2012

This phone is bringing me back my memories of old times. I had to cope with this phone when GTA 3 for mobile came out, had to do a lot of modifications to the phone. Great video !
Galaxy S2 was my introduction to Android, it felt like a spaceship coming from a Sybian at the time, if I remember correctly, it was like a Nokia C7 or something. The actual lockscreen can be seen at 12:00, the old network and SIM icons are still in the status bar, and the uninstall dialog at 4:17 is the one from Gingerbread So many other "themed" ROMs like that one were made for phones that just couldn't run newer Android versions lol

So many memories of when I had my first smartphone. I still have most of these games installed on my current phone on Android 14, though 14 automatically blocks apps which haven't received an update in several years and Jetpack Joyride seems to be the only one of these which still receives regular updates.

I had a Galaxy Ace at the time, it was a bigger Galaxy Y basically. Awesome phone, it was my very first android device, used to spend hour at Facebook talking to people, playing games, taking photos, all on that crap internal storage. Had a 512 MB SD card and that wass hell of a storage hahahah
holy, my first touch screen phone! I still have it but the battery are probably dead since I haven't used it since... 2015. geez I remember playing Hill Climb Racing using this phone after doing college papers.
I still remember 320x240 phones from Walmart back in the day. Couldn't run their own software without crashing. 64MB of RAM!
