I'm a drummer and that's why I picked up other instruments. I wanted to understand what a guitarist wanted and what a bassist wanted. It's cool to see that he kind of had/has the same mentality too!

Pues muchas gracias (ROD). Son las preguntas que tenía muchas ganas de preguntarle mucho tiempo, sin la idea de entrevista...pero Gavin respondió en seguida y ha sido un placer absoluto compartir con este gran artista.
Muchas gracias Andrés. Yo también llevo siguiendo a Gavin desde que tengo uso de razón musical y este encuentro ha sido mágico: el antes, el durante y el después. Por lo que esta entrevista, junto con otras, han sido una experiencia de aprendizaje muy grande. Saludos.
Gran trabajo, Juan. Grandísima entrevista por muchas razones, pero es que Gavin lo hace fácil. Lo difícil es imitarle en el instrumento, pero como él dice, hay que buscar tu propia personalidad tocando. Por cierto, algo que siempre me ha llamado la atención en Gavin es su gripping, él coge las baquetas muy atrás para lo que siempre nos han enseñado. Supongo que eso le dará más potencia en golpes largos y fuertes, pero con los ghost tan espectaculares que realiza, no sé cómo utiliza los dedos con tanta precisión.

tamarockstar customamber I don’t like much two or more drums in a band. King Crimson is one of the few bands that can justify having three. Having Gavin in any band is like having all the song needs in the percussive drumming department.
Ahora admiro más a Gavin no sólo como músico, sino como persona, qué tipo tan relajado tan sencillo, ojalá pudiera decir eso de otros bateristas que he tratado en persona, ejemplo: Weckl.
Great interview. I was surprised that you didn't ask Gavin about Neil Peart (RIP) as they were discussing the musicality element in drummers. He had it in his playing including the added percussion elements of his drumming and as a lyricist. Or am I thinking too much as a guitarist? 🤔🙂
