Thoroughly enjoyable interview. Very interesting to hear about the process Gavin goes through with recording and mixing his parts, and it explains a credit on the recent Porcupine Tree album and concert film where the mix is credited to Steven Wilson and Gavin. Speaking of Porcupine Tree, I had the great pleasure of seeing the recent tour, and I deliberately selected a ticket that would give me a good view of Gavin. What an amazing night.
Pineapple Thief are absolute class. I discovered them about 3 years ago from watching a Gavin Harrison interview in Drumeo I think it was? He was explaining his drum part on In Exile.
I’m thinking The only one that can challenge Gavin when it comes to odd times, is Benny Greb. It’s not about the challenge. It’s about the feel they bring to any arrangement, truly remarkable inspiring. 😎
Great interview! Not only is Gavin a phenomenal musician, he could easily be a phenomenal stand up comic. Very intelligent, articulate, and a great sense of humour.
Love the questions John.. you brought out great information from Galvin.. who definitely has his sound and is a monster player. The drum community wouldn’t get this information normally without great guests and players. Thank you both.. fabulous🤘loved info on unique signatures
Hey GAVIN JUST WANTED TO ASK YOU WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE SONOR NEBULA SQ2 Nebula Stellar Spire kit its maple shells thinking about getting one? Also your drumming is really tasteful on this new album.
Here's Gavin's answer: The song I played on is called "Khoya Tu Kahaan" and the singer is Vishal Dadlani. ruclips.net/video/muacWxrO3O8/видео.htmlsi=QK1BmFg93JxuxfQu
@@livefrommydrumroom that won't do it. it's not a level problem, it's an eq problem. there are two switches on the back of that mic (if it's an sm7b). one is for bass rolloff. turn that one on. :)

Great interview. Gavin is the best. Of the best.
That was fun John and Gavin thanks!
Love Gavin! His playing is so clean, great time that really grooves with unreal chops that he always uses in the perfect spots
Great to hear that the unique drummer John Guerin was an influence on Gavin. Very enjoyable interview chaps on so many levels! Thank You.
Gavin's appearance in Letterman is the thing that finally pushed me to get a kit :)
Same! Just ordered my Sonor kit! He's amazing and his drums sound unbelievable! Sold!
That appearance happened 1 week after the first time I got to see and meet Gavin at a clinic. 2011!
Just about caused me sell mine.
Interviews with Gavin are always great, this one was especially good. Thanks guys.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. 🙏♥

Very informative hang with Gavin, a perfect version of a great sounding kit/drummer combo! Good one, John!

Laughed so hard with the plumber joke at 1:27:28 hahahhaha
Plumbers are over priced and insincere. Be your own plumber. Self reliance is the greatest art😂
Great episode John. Let's have Gavin on every week!
Great idea! 👍❤
Great drummer, Great interview! Bravo Johnny!
Thanks Joe! 🙏♥
Thanks man. Always great to see this.
Nice one guys! Loving the show John!😀👍❤️

Can we know what is the bolloywood song gavin played on?

very interesting, gavin is such a monster! but slightly marred by the huge amount of bass in your mic, john. please try using a high pass in future!
Thanks and glad you enjoyed it! Not sure what a "high pass" is so I'll just lower my mic level 😉
