I've shot this twice and plan to shoot it again this Saturday. So far, I absolutely love it. It's easy to rack, shoots great for its size and chambering, has great capacity and seems ideal for deep concealment in most/all weather and situations.
I've had mine going on a year now. It is now my primary EDC, first in line over my Shield Plus and my Micro 9. As others mentioned the CSX checks all the boxes on what I want in a Micro compact.
I have migrated from thinking these were a screw up by Smith and Wesson, to picking mine up this week at an FFL. It checks all my personal boxes for a micro "summer carry" pistol: small size, capacity, flat shooting and most importantly, I've not seen any report, anywhere, of reliability issues...and I have watched a lot of videos and read a lot of threads. And no, "great trigger" was not one of my boxes to be checked. I have a handful of 9mm semis and all have different triggers. Some have excellent triggers but i don't carry them for other reasons.
..."summer carry" exactly the same reason I picked mine up and agree that it suits that purpose well as I'm in the south and spend the majority of the year in shorts and a tshirt...I have no reset or trigger issues, what I don't like is the slop between the the frame and slide...does your copy have similar slop?...
@@puzer1 Mine does have the "slop" but it eats every type of ammo i have ever put through it.Been my edc since last May.Shoots and feels better than my P365.Holds more rounds than my P238 and still choose to carry over my Max380,although i think the Max380 size and weight are a huge advantage. All great carry guns with 99% reliability but im just in love more with the CSX.For now.
No, I do not have any "slop". It is a nice tight fit. I love how the aluminum frame feels compared to polymer. I haven't had any issues with my polymer guns, and it's hard to describe. This just feels more solid.
I just learned about this little gem today and plan to get one later this week. Im used to carrying a P365 XL with one in the chamber so I’m going to need to practice to train myself to swipe the safety off before pulling the trigger.
I have one. It's a good weapon. Just remember it's a micro 9mm. I shot our state law enforcement course with it the other day. I scored an 82 out of 100 points. Not bad for a 60 year old fat man. The course starts at 25 yards to 15, 7 and 5 yards. A 50 round course.
Bought mine before the rebate expired. I’d planned to buy one already…the rebate merely accelerated my purchase. Many things to like…capacity being a big one. I’m usually carrying a Kimber Micro 9, which has an incredible trigger (started out heavy). The false reset on this only trips me up when I’m concentrating on riding the trigger. If I just fire the pistol it shoots just fine. I am breaking it in differently from any other gun I own. So far, 100% my loads…not a single factory round. Hasn’t skipped a beat. Jacketed, plated, Montana Golds, Hi Tek, XTPs…eats everything without skipping a beat.
Nice video. I also noted an earlier one had a notable click mid reset. The example I ended up with has more of a hump mid reset. I shoot to reset, but find I’m always back on the true reset naturally. For a carry gun I actually like the safety, mag release and slide lock to be as slim as possible to still be useable. Of the micro 9’s I like the blackstrap to trigger distance and it fits my hand well. The trigger could be crisper, which I’d expect if it were a $3000+ Wilson. Overall, if you are used to a 1911 manual of arms and want an affordable EDC I think it’s pretty decent. If they came out with a performance center with trijicon, tuned trigger though….
I haven't had any, and I haven't heard of anyone else having any. I suppose it could happen, but that seems very unlikely unless you're doing some really dirty work.
Yes, I just tried it, and it does work, barely. It will only pop the slide stop lever out a tiny bit, so you still have to get a fingernail or something in there to pull it out. But yes, it does work. Good call.
I like mine. No problem with the trigger reset. Just wish the magazines were easier to load, and who thought that loose spacer on the 12 round magazine was a good idea?
had you heard that some magazines were assembled wrong at the factory and that's why the early models had hard to load mags. some folks dissembled them and the spring tip was not in the follower correctly. maybe that's not your mag's issue
I don't know what if anything was changed. All I can say is that mine doesn't have any issues with false reset. Also, I looked at a display one in the store before I bought mine, and that one didn't have any problems either.

Just picked one up yesterday for my "summer gun" too, haven't got the shot it yet but I love all the features
I handled one at Academy today and it seemed to fit my hand a lot better than a P365. I’m definitely going to look more into this one.

Would this pistol be a good choice for someone who has large or extra large hands ?
Been carrying mine for close to a year love it super reliable and feels great metal's the way to go in a micro helps with recoil and follow up shots

How much was the rebate ? When was the rebate ?
@@georgegould667 the rebate for the CSX was $75. It ended earlier this month. I already received my S&W Mastercard.
The only thing I did to mine was add NDZ pinky extensions. What a difference!
How do you like it? I was thinking about getting one of them love my shield, but I like metal guns better.
I like it. The metal frame feels great, and it shoots very well.

Any issues with lints and dirts being collected in the hammer area during the carry?
I haven't had any, and I haven't heard of anyone else having any. I suppose it could happen, but that seems very unlikely unless you're doing some really dirty work.
Can you use the tool that is included for changing the grip strap be used to pop the pin on the slide release to disassemble the pistol?

@@shaunfloyd9050 Looks like S&W should make that little peg just a wee bit longer so it could have more functionality. Thanks for checking that.

I agree. The spacer should have been done better.

I bought one as soon as released. Ridiculous breakdown procedure had me trade it after two range days for a real subcompact 1911 design.
What’d you end up with?
common breakdown procedure. nothing ridiculous.
Congrats for NOT calling it a “1911 style” firearm. I think some think any SA hammer gunn is a 1911.
Is the born on date on the box ?
Not sure. There are some numbers that look like a date, but it doesn't say what they refer to.
Of course it fired everything its a smith and wesson
Picking one up tomorrow, prefer hammer over striker any day of the week.
You know I use to say that but I love my bersa bp9cc. I love my Glock 19 and cz p07 . But I love how light my bersa bp9cc is and with full grip .
What’s the difference between striker and hammer?
@@DARTHDANSAN I've got a p07, it's my favorite firearm. It's just a little to big for appendix carry for me during summer. So I picked this up.
@@rank1839 loads of differences, but I mostly like the safety aspect of a hammer fired pistol. Especially a sa/da like my CZ.
@@trollingleftists2490 thanks. I’m just trying to figure out what should be my first handgun.
Is it true that S&W fixed the trigger?

@@shaunfloyd9050 thank for letting me know. For my first gun it’ll be the CSX, Shield plus or P365.
Bought mine this week. Love the hand feel. Great carry size too!
@@Broker-in-Maine nice. It does feel right in the hand.
Just purchased a CSX on 7/12/23 and I cannot detect false reset. Don't know how to decode the born on date from the box label.
This reminded of modern Star bm
I love the gun not happy with the trigger
