I have a 2001 Sebring 4dr Sedan. No screw in the top rear corner. Very difficult to pull the panel off the retainers, in the rear, the others came loose, easily, but there is a stud on the sheet metal, with a large flat head, about the size of a Nickle, that keys into a plastic retainer, like a button hole, with the top of the slot open. Looks like you need to move the panel down as you hold the top of the panel from over the frame. The large flanged stud stays on the frame and the button hole clip is fastened onto the panel. When you removed the panel, I could see the sheet metal where the insulator sheet has a cutout to fit around a round raised "bump" in the sheet metal; but I could not see the large, flat, flanged stud. There are other videos illustrating this task for model years through 2006, they don't apply to the 2001, yours does except for the 6th screw and the stud that is really difficult to pull through, I expect that it would possible break off, since part of it is rubber. But, I did get it off and without breaking anything. Thank you, nice job.

Just giving you a heads up, the video was a good starter to some of the screws. However, on the 2001 model, there are additional screws. I had to remove the speaker panel and pull off three screws from there. Just up from the speaker is another panel to remove with an additional screw in there. The reflective plastic piece on the lower left has one behind it. And there are two more screws behind the door panel that I haven't figured out how to get to yet. Again good video, very helpful in starting, just wanted to give you a heads up.

David Larson. OMG you are such a LIFE saver!!! I have an 01 model n i took all the visible screws out but the door still wouldn't pop that like he is did. And then I screw it down and saw your post and I see why it never popped out because there are additional screws. Thank you so much!

Very good video Don - I am wondering if you could tell me how to remove the rear door hardware on a 2007 Sebring 4 door? Thanks!

After I posted, I read the post below, David Larson commented that he had to remove the speaker cover on his 2001, My speaker cover isn't removable, that is why I commented about the differences on my 2001. I don't know why David's 2001 is different than mine, except I purchased my 2001 in the fall of 2000, and the convertible is a different car than the sedan.

Be careful on the 2006 Sebring convertible. There is a panel on the door near the inner hinges that houses a screw into the door. I accidentally pulled on the panel and broke the screws thread backing support. So, pop the panel off first & unscrew this screw first. To fix I had to use a longer screw with a washer for support!

Thanks for the great video. My 2005 is a little different, so maybe this will help someone with a 2005:
I followed your video, except I don't have a screw on the vertical edge of the door panel by the latch. Then I found three more screws under the speaker grill (The grill snaps off. I think I pulled from the bottom of the grill.) and another screw under a sort of rounded tip triangle shaped plastic panel between the door handle (the part you pull to open the door) and the hinge edge of the door panel. It looks like it's just part of the door panel. Pull that rounded tip triangle panel off, starting from the edge closest to the door handle, then take out the screw. I didn't take the whole door panel off because I just needed to reach behind the speaker to slip a new door catch strap in, so I'm not sure if there are more fasteners to remove to get the whole panel off.

Glad to see the "re-designed" the driver/passenger door panel for the 2001 thru 2006 sebrings. The ones on a 1998 Chrysler Sebring JXi are garbage. Actual metal screws along the bottom of the door panel... what an engineering master-stroke of genius. They are just like door panels on my 84 El Camino... imagine that. Whoever decided to have all those plastic/nylon inserts instead of screws to attach the panel to the door frame... should have every one of them shoved up his butt.

Getting that triangle piece back in on the 2000 convertible....is nearly impossible because the door panel and triangle piece totally interfere with one another, requiring immense force to bend the plastic piece down behind the door panel as not to damage the vinyl.
