You guys should watch the sport of Cricket. There's nothing BUT barehanders in that sport! The Cricket ball is made of solid wood covered in red leather; and believe you me, it hurts when you catch it! Beginner catchers will have bruises on their palms for the first couple of weeks until their hands start to toughen up.
