unfair test. the r50s photos + videos were very over exposed. they have the same sensor

How can both cameras use same sensor and same megapixels but have a different color in video and photo?

They overexposed the images and videos. These two cameras exactly the same specs, only one has deeper, bigger grip, more control, a few minor changes but technically they identical

Someone at Canon didn't have the foresight to notice that the R50 is going to cause problems in their naming convention. All the Canon DSLRs - when their spiritual successors had a mirrorless counterpart - used the same naming convention.
For example, the 7D becomes R7. The 5D becomes R5. The 6D becomes R6, and so on. In the single numeral models, the replacements simply used the same model and added a Mk #. (e.g. 7D mk ii, 5D mk ii, iii, and iv, 6D mk ii). With the models that have more than one numerical digit, they simply increased the number. The 20D was the successor to the 10D. The 30D was the successor to the 20D....all the way up to the 90D - - which was discontinued and the last in the line of XXD model cameras - - but it's mirrorless counterpart - it's successor into the mirrorless world - is the R10. They are keeping the 2-digit numerical identifier; just restarting from 10 - with the "R" in the model to designate it as the new mirrorless line which picks up where the XXD series left off. Assuming they keep their naming convention the same, the R10 will be updated at some point, and R20 will be the new model in that line. Then the R30 and R40 after that. Then what? I see some confusion in the future. And what will be the successor of the R50? How are they going to do that. I can see some confusion when the R40 comes out (which would be the 4th generation of the RXX line which started from R10). What's after the R40? And does the current R50's successor get the R60 name? Suppose it does, and we are in a scenario where we have the R10, R20, R30, R40, R50, R60, R70, R80, R90....you get the point. BUT.... R10 thru R40 will be an entirely different model than R50 thru R90.
I think it was a good idea for Canon to make the model numbers for the transition from DSLR to mirrorless consistent with the D series models. This R50 sort of throws a wrench in the R10 line of succession - and causes confusion for its own line as well. I suppose they could just go with an R10 Mk II and an R50 Mk II. But then, they would be getting away from the nomenclature of the Canon D series DSLR's naming convention. The whole point was to remain consistent with the D series nomenclature so that those familiar with Canon's progression through the models as cameras were updated would feel at home when the whole DSLR system transfers to their mirrorless system. Of course if they go with a Mk II, Mk III type naming system, it defeats the purpose of remaining consistent.
I'm sure I'm overthinking this, but I'm just wondering how Canon is going to handle this. It's just nice to know that you can know about where a Canon DSLR sits in their lineup simply by the model number. The number of digits in the model number determine what level of photographer that camera is meant for. The fewer the digits, the higher-end the camera. For the single digit models, the higher the number, the higher the tier. When a new model comes out that is a successor (but in the same tier), it gets a "Mk #" designation. For models with multiple digits, they simply increase the number. The 70D is a newer model than the 60D, but they are both in the XXD format - so without even being told, you know it's in the same "tier" as the 60D - just a new model.
In other words, you can look at Canon's naming scheme for the D series like you look at car models. The 90D is to the 80D what a newer year model car is to last year's model. It's the same car - just a new model. The R50 is sitting in the way of the R10 line of cameras - - so it's a bit like Chevrolet coming out with a 2028 Silverado RIGHT NOW - that doesn't quite fit in the same tier as the 2023 model. So what happens when the current line of Silverados gets to 2027? What comes next? Anyway.....this is just a bunch of rambling and it makes no difference. I'm just predicting a little confusion in the future. I can see people wondering how the successor to the R30 is 10 years older than the R50. You know - because people following along would notice the R20 coming out to replace the R10 a few years later. Then another few years goes by and the R30 comes out. Then a few more years, and the R40. Suddenly, people notice that there is already an R50, and one could naturally assume based on how Canon's naming convention has worked in the previous 30-40 years - that the R50 must be the new model in the RXX series. Then they notice that it came out 14 years ago? Wait, what? And then R60, R70 (all descendants of the R50) in a completely different tier of cameras than the R10's descendants which have progressed up to R40. Seems like it might cause some headaches - - - - - but probably no more so than this comment does! :)
Anyway - burn in hell, Canon. ;)
