ROTARY POWER MERCH - teespring.com/...
This is episode 3 of the Turbo Rotary Minibike, and we finally addressed some of the problems and shortcomings of our previous setup. We saw your comments (special thanks to Bart on Instagram) and fixed our oiling system by switching the inlet in outlet and adding a larger drain tube. We finalized the “charge pipe” and replaced the old rubber “boost tube” with some proper steel. The wastegate had to go due to space and in this application, it won’t be making enough boost pressure to activate it. We cut apart the old turbo go-kart exhaust to create a custom exhaust for the minibike and then started it up and tuned it! It’s sounding great!!!
Thank y’all for watching, stay safe, and be sure to stay tuned for the next episode, the FIRST DRIVE!

Make sure the waste gate valve is closed tight. Even the slightest leak will affect its ability to spool up.
FIRST!!!! The mini bike looks and sounds amazing guys👍
You win lol. Thanks man, been loving your electric minibike series!
I'd like to see a collab here. That would b epic.

@@Hitycooking I'm going to start reporting your posts as spam.
Ya to bad it’s the same as the last video minus a metal charge pipe and eliminating the wastegate that should of been done last video and this should of been a test video. To much wasted time.
Change the oil ratio to 40:1 so everything in there stays lubed up.
I was thinking 50:1 but that should work too
@@2RotorRacing thats less oil
@@mflbikes1870 I know but my 2 rotor engine recommends about a 75:1 ratio typically
@@2RotorRacing thats with an omp
Boost pipe looks fantastic, great work doing it in one piece!
Congratulations guys it’s sounding so so much better than it was before and thanks for taking the advice and going to solid boost pipes.
It’s sounds so cool guys great job you can hear that lil turbo spooling up so sweet this is such a great build got to share this on my page
Thank you, feel free to share!
Build Break Repeat great job guys really cool stuff your building I bet that is a blast to ride can you feel the turbo spool up
ruclips.net/video/BoIgEsijfbEh/видео.htmlwhw
Hity Design that’s sweet
One of the coolest things I've seen in a long time.
Thank you for taking my advice on the not fuel rated boost plumbing.
Well, that kills my plan for supercharging my scooter then 😂. Would a rubber tube work if it was fuel rated?
Thanks for the advice!
I dont recommend it, but you can try it with some steel reinforced rubber lines. Gasoline resistant PVC pipes do also exist, that could work pretty well and is easy to work work with.
ruclips.net/video/BoIgEsijfbEy/видео.htmleye
@@Jan-ny8hn my main worry is fuel atomization. Im using a smog pump to create a draw through system. Id only need maybe a foot of rubber intake to go from the output to the intake on the motor, so idk
That is certainly over the top and should win the "Pure Wicked Award"!!!
I’d put that wastegate back on. Any turbo has the potential to over boost and that wastegate at spring pressure is always a fail safe. Cool build tho 👌🏻
the wastegate actuator also has the job of holding the wastegate closed while below its boost threshold, so by removing it youre allowing the wastegate to do whatever it pleases and exhaust is going to push it open and kill any spooling. be sure to jam it all the way closed if you want any chance of building boost.
you are pros, my heroes, i hope one day i could walk the steps you stepped. I really need to save money for those days, wish me luck ! :)
0:38 bald eagle approved 😂😂🦅🇺🇸 cleetus would be proud .
Cleetus uses the sound of a Hawk. Ever heard how a bald eagle actually sounds?
@@esqueue yeah worked at a zoo for 3 yrs they do sound similar .
Cleetus is trash
I think rob dahm Approves more
If you want more turbo air volume you could add a plenum chamber to the boost pipe. It's a rad little bike.👌
its wet charge, this will create SO much more lag than the gains it produces
@@minor0confusion Because of the indirect flow path or? I can see the problem, but I would think the pressure could compensate for that.
@@Hamsteren91 the larger the charge area, the more innacuracey the fueling will have throughout the boost build period. wet charge or drawtrhough will always create rich lean issues and increasing the area is literally adding more dead space of incorrect fuel mix. itl spike all overthe place and be rich as hell when not on boost just to stay in a nice range full throttle full boost. id be tempted to run the boost signal from the wastegateinto the overflow of the carb itself. this should equal bowl pressure with boost pressure altho fuel pressure wouldbe required even if only 1 or two psi. i thinkthe lads are doing well to do this the easiest way possible. the shorter the distance between the carb and the inlet port the better in this case. altho wuith a dry charge you areabsolutly right. the plenum only holds air.. not air and fuel.
glad youfigured it all out, comming together niceley. now to put a bolt in that wastegate so it doesnt blow open :D
My favorite intro of any channel
Hell yea!!! I can't wait to see that thing rip!!
Ayyyy, I'm glad that it works!!
I'm anna get a pulse pump for mine after u guys ripped it around for another video,
cuz I want to see if the turbo starves of oil when working for a longer time.
Awesome job guys, ive been looking for one of these engines for years but there not easy to find Down Under in Australia. Hope alls well were you are, keep up the awesome builds... Truly inspirational. 😉👍
These little Sachs rotary engine are out there. They come up for sale on trade me New Zealand🇳🇿
Check eBay
Thanks for the replies and advice... ive been searching ebay, gumtree, facebook. The only complete sachs engines I've found are almost $4,000 and as much as i want one, thats just way to expensive considering whats out there for a quater of the price. Ill just have to keep looking.
Cheers 😉👍
I see you guys have your brake system mounted to the clutch, while it works it would be safer to have one on the rear wheel. With the current setup if the chain falls off you no longer have brakes either. Just something to consider. Very cool and well done build so far!
if using a bit of 2-stroke olie in the gas will help lifetime a lot
Both of you seem like honest solid dudes. Don't see much of that nowadays
Love the content ✌️
I haven't seen one of y'all's vida since the rotory cart. Those locks tho bro!!!
Exhaust side of the turbo should be same diameter as the turbo exhaust housing it’s pushing all of that air into a tiny pipe, open it up less restricted more flow
Yall just turbo things for the SOUNDS OF THE SPOOL
This should actually increase performance by a good amount so it's not completely pointless.
@@noahpaulette1490 of course but did u see their last turbo build it was gutless. This will be no different they are just using the fame of turbo because its the trend they wont actually make it perform well
@@400sbccamaro actually it should work a good bit better on the rotary because of how they work, a rotarys actual displacement is about double what is written in specification plus this probably revs higher and works kinda like a 2-stroke, which means more exhaust gas to flow through the turbine compared to a single cylinder 4-stroke
@@ethancoy9237 I'm not saying it cant be done but I dont think THEY will make it work
@@400sbccamaro I'm sure it will be fine, they will figure it out, it's less complex than the last so there's not much to go wrong
I never doubted it! I might be old..........but I wanna ride it!
man i love the suspension on that sucker
Love the band brake setup, probably gonna copy it on my 212 predator three wheel bike build I'm looking forward to doing. Right now has no rear brakes. Going on a Worksman 20 inch trike.
Nicely done guys. Looks good. Look forward to seeing you guys rip it up.
Very cool build. I would like to see a boost gauge lol. Either way thanks for the work guys.
ruclips.net/video/BoIgEsijfbEh/видео.html2u2
I would throw a short section of rubber on both ends of that intake pipe. When things get warm and move its going to leak
Still needs a real oil pump but I'm very glad to see you guys listened to the blow through advice but here's some more knowledge throw that air filter off it won't flow 10hp well and throw a 180 main jet in to start. Should rip pretty good but I would try to redo that charge pipe so its down hill from the turbo and it can idle for a while without loading up. Don't try to hit boost with that tiny main in either it will get lean and last that carb looks tiny for the application 😂 I started with the same thing basically but quickly learned a 36mm mikuni really freed up power up top and made hitting boost faster and easier. It also made boost matter alot more and started to actually make power I was expecting but idle quality went way down hill.
I bought some of those engines that were being sold with some turbos and Walbro23b carbs , hadn’t bought the turbos but carburettors are all position good and diaphragm pumped . It was from an abandon production project , they sent them in the flying in sky like rockets . I was going to try using a Garret12 with mine.
Sachs Km48 engines like this?
With small carbureted engines they are really sensitive to the length of intake pipeing youll notice performance loss with even slight changes your turbo could make up for the loss but not increases from how it was before the turbo.
Heck yeah guys that mini bike is sounding good
Your the man jitt👍✌
cain sample heck yeah bud trying to be
These guys are good bro. Good work.
Awesome, but with the carb unlevel the float won't act properly and it will starve itself of gas when you hammer down on it. Great work tho! Keep it up!
Y'all should put a blow off valve on that charge pipe, because if you don't then it will turn into a pipe bomb when the engine backfires (which rotaries are known to do). Happened to a friend of mine with his supercharged racecar.
9:36 What is going on with that hair? 😂 You look like my sister
what's with the girlie ass head band ? ...you look like TTime's sister
Still being a bully? And on the computer even LOL nice work dude
@jason crigger Since when do guys have hair like that? 😂 You're just a modern day kueer
@@comediccommentator4663 ; You FUNNY !!! ...LOL...(seriously)
Awesome job guys,,,, can’t wait to see the first rip
For the love of god boys, just bloody take it out for a spin
This is sweet but I think the exhaust is to small diameter for the air you are pushing through it. Rotary engines like lots of air in and even more out to be working at there best.
That is the coolest mini bike.
What mixture are you guys running? Make sure it’s got plenty of oil, would hate to mess up that motor
this is the coolest thing I have ever seen
Hey this is prity huge, you need to weld the wastegate flap closed or your not going to get any boost
Looks sick should be quick. Only thing is I hope the chain don’t break cuz you won’t have any brakes
No chain means no go my guy
Intercooler and MORE BOOST!
Nice job it looks like it’s going to be fast.
Dope intro
This will be awesome!
I’ve been waiting FOREVER
I wanna ride that bike 😀 sounds sooo good. Great job guys.
no wastegate? UNLIMITED BOOST! XD def consider a throttle body post turbo instead of pre turbo...
sounds freaking amazing love the idle
Let's put a juggernaut from gopowersports on that bad boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This thing is dope yo !!
Awesome job, you’re going to need a bigger bike to really rip it.
Yeap and could potentially get second engine and make two rotor wankel out of this!
muy buen proyecto, hermoso motor felicitaciones, saludos desde argentina!!!
I want to see that motor and turbo set up put on something bigger like a old dirt bike . Then give us a top speed run on a road.
Where did you get the engine
Ebay I believe
Been waiting on this!
Do you have all the information on the turbo
Y'all need to make a 4 rotor mini bike
So its not going to make boost unless you weld the waste gate valve closed
Scrappy Brappy
But like a small lever on the handlebars that manually actuates the wastegate for BOOST!
Awesome job!
Burp burp burp burp love that sound!
So awesome
Where did you find the little rotary motor I want one so bad so I can teach kids how it works
Sounds amazing!
Can you answer a question for me, from a old video of the c10 shop truck what size tires and rims and moon caps are on it? Thanks
I don’t know what oil and fuel you are running but look into klotz super techniplate and run it 32:1 or 40:1 and vp t4
All I can honestly tell y'all is I'm jealous as f*** and where did y'all get that motor from man eBay or something and what's the average price on them please do let me know thank you
he looks like a girl from the 90's with that hairband
Haters gonna hate
Steven Haworth
I couldn’t even hear what Daniel was saying because I was so focussed on that girly hair band! I like the channel, but he’s GOTTA cut that hair off!
Looks pretty gay with that hairband
@@BUILDNIGHT Same. I couldn't stop staring at it, like WTF is that!
@@Rattus-Norvegicus haters? it's a woman's headband...
Yes
I still don’t think the clutch mounted brake is a good idea
whyzat
aaron71 if you’re meaning to say “why’s that?” proper English would be better. I say that because if the engine runs away, that brake will be overpowered compared to brakes on the wheels
@@melted_pistons that's isn't a worry engine run away isn't really an issue and the brake is more than enough how ever i do agree it isn't the best spot mainly because there is 2 chains so twice as likely to have 1 fail and if that happens there is no brake
id make an FR Go cart with this
What did the engine come from and what electrics did you use?
Please do a goped Bigfoot turbo build many will say it’s impossible but I know it can be done
Sic!
One rotor braps
I am getting a welder for the first time. What helmet would you suggest?
Wasn't the carb supposed to be on the engine. the filter on the turbo and the boost pipe going the front of carburetor. Or is this backwards?
Most carbs like the can’t take the boost pressure and the pressure will blow fuel out
I like it 😎
Does this use a cvt transmission and what's the displacement of this engine??
Dude, loose the hair bow thing!
Brasil love canal 👏👏
to be real you guys should really get it fuel injected somehow. mechanical fuel injection would probably work fine
flip the tiny intake elbow upside down for a smoother transition
this is so dope
how the duck did you get that second KM48
I am looking for one and I cant find one
and here you guys go and have 2 of them
If u find any engines or parts for sale let me know I had to throw my rotary bike together with homemade parts lol
brap brap brap brap
been waiting on this 🔥🔥
Try boost into a pressure carburetor
What turbo is that??? i am trying to find one like it
Why does no one close the wastegate valve or hat after the remove it for these small engine builds.
Where do I buy a motor like that?
There's a sachs km914 on ebay right now for sale.
What are you guys studying??
Keep up the bad ass work 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
