What? I can't heat a word you are saying. All I can hear is the Chiffchaff! The sound of this summer.
I bought the Z8 (£2700) Hong Kong and the 600PF with 1.4 TC Hong kong. Fantastic saving.
I wanted the 800 but just too big and heavy for traveling. Great footage, I must give video a go.

Sorry, I am assuming you mean when I was talking about the Cover on the lens in the hide.
The subtitles does do a good job but I will bare it in mind on future project.
I need to get a microphone for the Gopro when I have some cash.
How do you get on with the TC, I'm not sure I am one or not, I might rent one for the 800mm.

Oh, poor attempt at humour. Chiffchaff's seem to be the dominant sound in Dorset and in your video. Your vocals were very clear.
The 1.4 TC works very well with the 600pf but the minimum f stop is f9. Noise reduction is good on the Z8 so not too much of a problem.
I nearly went for the 800mm as I mainly shoot at this length ( 600mm with 1.4TC) but felt the weight and length was too prohibitive for me. But I would have loved it.
I will go back to Indonesia. Flight is a bit expensive but accomadation and food is very cheap. Borneo, Sulawesi, Flores etc. My partner has taken her students to Costa Rica a few times. Never been but hoping to go. But way more expensive than Indonesia. The 600mm being so light and short better fits my use case. I do shoot mainly with the 1.4TC attached. That said if I had the 800mm I probably would shoot with the 1.4 TC attached. Keep up the good work. D
Had a few whiskies so hopefully making sence! Slange

Not a problem but I will work on better sound. The f9 shouldn't be an issue with video recording in day light but the F6.3 is a little issue in low light with autofocus.
If you want to get incredible low (to no) noise ISO try DxO link above to download and option on my website to download a free 14 trail with no credit card needed.
I am terrified of fly these days so it is unlikely that I am going to be getting on a plane, however I do plan to go around the EU, Canada, US and many other places. But I plan to go by Ship with a converted van.

Hi Russell, I bought the ROLANPRO Lens Cover from Amazon on a recommendation and is a far better quality than any of the others I've had.

I’m planning on getting r5 11…are Hong Kong savings worth it?…did you have to pay taxes when it arrived?

Most will include Import VAT (UK), If you don't mind waiting a little longer it should be fine. I would recommend SLRhut. Used them a couple of times with no issues yet.

You demonstrate a great reason NOT to get that lens coat. There are a number of lenses in the z range capable of 1000mm now. The z180-600 in DX is 900 onto which a 1.4 TC gives 1260 and a 2x gets a whopping 1800mm ! The z100-400 and z400 are also capable of 1200 in DX with a 2X

@patrickmolloy6994 yea the lens cover may be a too much hassle. It does OK with control wheel cover missing. I mainly want it as a extra protection. Might try a different cover in the future. I will be doing a proper review of the lens in the future once I feel I have got really used to its nature.

Crop do not change reach in mm!
    It only crop.
If I crop heavily in photoshop do I get 3000mm?.. No.
It's more about pixel density and mm.

    • @rpcamera
      @rpcamera  24 дня назад

When you record at 4K 120FPS on a Z8 it gives you a crop of 2.3x but still records at 4K, remember 4K is only 8.3MP if it was a Photo.
Photos are different though. If you use the DX crop (1.5) on the Z8 it would be a equivalent 1200mm lens but at 19.3MP instead of the 800mm at 45MP.
If you crop heavily in photoshop it could be equivalent to 3000mm but it would be at a much lower pixel density.

      Yes. Video will be different.
But still it's mixing up things to call it xxx mm. Also understanding the word equliant is very important here. And no it doesn't change my cameras or pictures pixel density that I crop in photoshop!
