You keep up this quality and consistency up through the Olympics and I honestly feel like you and your production team could be in line for some RUclips awards at the end of the year. Absolutely phenomenal production.
Clayton, great to see this series. Beautifully produced, and a real treat to see the prep that goes into a world class runner training for the Olympics. Us long-time competitive runners (D2!) get to see that it is, in some ways, high school or college writ large. The workouts are there, the endless miles and repeats on yet another bike path. And, also interesting for us long-timers: seeing Ed in these videos. Followed his career back in the day, and I still see him racing in that Reebok kit in the '88 trials. Really can't wait to see what you can do in Paris healthy. Keep it up! And the side-eye your youngest daughter gives the camera is classic.
I'm currently preparing for the Berlin Marathon. The training has been brutal, and there are days where I just want to throw in the towel. But there's something so comforting about these videos. Seeing these incredible athletes and what they go through really inspires me to keep going. Thank you so much!
Hearing elite runners going through 'difficult' miles just like the rest of us, and the associated mind games, is really inspiring. As Jens Voigt would say, 'shut up, legs!'
@@_Clayton_Young_ Hey Clayton, I know it's an insanely busy time in your life, but I host a running podcast called Chasing Three Hours and would love to have you on to tell your story and discuss why you decided to bring this behind the scenes look at your process. Thank you so much.
Clayton - it’s amazing to me how much I have in common with you even thought we are running extremely different times at the marathon 😆. I’m a 2:48 PR and your talk on giving grace in the first few weeks of workouts + focusing on staying healthy is great. You’re getting me excited for my next build - appreciate you making this amazing content! Stay healthy and run hard!!!
This video is amazing!! Out of curiosity, do the people who live and drive around on the streets where you both train on ‘know’ who you both are? I mean, you both are not just Olympians but, even for an untrained eye, seeing you both run is literally poetry in motion. Silky smooth and run like wind. I am sure it’s beyond extremely difficult but, you both make it look easy. Good luck and best wishes!!!!!
It may not have been your intention but these videos are so inspiring, and seeing the dedication from you to your craft helps me in ensuring my own training stays consistent working towards my first marathon in September. Absolutely loving the series and can't wait for more!
Clayton, you're training may have not gotten off to the start you might have dreamed of, but these videos have set the bar extremely high for your channel. Great work from you and everyone involved!
so humbling to stay in tune w/ athletes who are running long runs at a pace that i did a mile rep at today during a cut down workout. stoked to be training for JFK50 in an olympic year w/ these videos complimenting the motivation ThankYou!
Just added a Clayton quote to my Strava profile. So inspiring as always. I literally can't wait for a new video each week! You're crushing it, Clayton! I admire how insightful and eloquent you always are.
Watched this right before running my 1K repeats and I heard you in my head..."we're gonna send it", "take care of one at a time", "flow like water"...not that my 1Ks were at 3 min, that is unreasonable at this big age.
I love each and every one of these videos more and more. The glimpse into family life at the end gave me the chills. Rooting for you and the whole squad, Clayton!
These videos are awesome. I greatly appreciate seeing the process and journey on your way to the Paris Olympics! Good luck and stay healthy training. 😄
Awesome video; I loved your point about comparisons to one of your training partners. I think that that view is one that it is important for all athletes to understand.
Thank you! Comparison is a tough balance and something I have struggled with. My favorite advice on the subject comes from a talk by J.B. Haws called Wrestling with Comparison.
You discuss your mentality a lot during this episode, and speaking on being hyper focused on the goal. You’re an amazing runner and wonderful representative for our country. Win the minute, win the hour, win the day. Day by day you will get there and all those small wins throughout the day will power you to accomplish your task.
Great series. I’m running the marathon pour tour (marathon for all) in the Paris Olympics the evening after you guys run! Nice to see how you’re preparing for this monster course haha
A++ goal: medal, A goal: top 10, B goal: top 20. Paris is going to be really hot, humid, and hilly. Post run sauna sessions and hill work will be a big focus as we hit the final 8-10 weeks of training.
Whoever is producing this is doing a fantastic job. Quality is great, it feels like a true docu-series.
🤘🏼 thank you ! It’s fascinating to shoot.
@@AndrewStorerDP I agree with others' praise. This is the best running series I've seen.
@@AndrewStorerDPkeep up the good work man i look forward to watching these every time. first on my recommended.
I was thinking the same thing.
@@AndrewStorerDPyou’re doing a standup job bro keep it up! 👍
It’s such a privilege to see this in-depth into a professional runner’s routine, showing that even the greatest struggle from day to day.
Yo Johann I love your music classical is the best bro glad to see you still kickin'
This might be the best docu series following a runner iver seen. Sick production. Keep up the work dawg

Ward making a bold move in the white half tights! 😃
This series is 🔥
Literally the best thing running on youtube right now. Keep the faith, Clayton, trust that process, the speed will come!
I needed to hear: “Some days you might not be 100%, but you grind your way through.” Grind, baby, grind.

Thank you! 👍
Good to know I’m not the only one who has good days and bad days.
Don’t need to win anything in these workouts. Paris are the roads that count. They will be yours for the taking.
Amen. Had to keep that mentality in the moment sometimes. But you're spot on. Thanks for watching!
What an incredible video
Have to love hearing some Timo phrases come out
