Silly question. I’m pretty new to running and feel like there is nothing better in the world than a good run. As a pro runner who’s been doing this for so long, do you have that similar appreciation? Or does it kinda feel more like going to work? Has it changed depending on your goals? Appreciate the videos!
Some days it feels like work, but most days it feels like a dream. Sometimes it's hard to get out the door, but I never regret it by the end of the run. Yes, running has become my career and livelihood, but it will always be my outlet and source of endorphins. A well thought out goal can help bring motivation, but ultimately if you can't find joy in the process, the goal will feel hollow once reached.
I love all the supporting cast: Habs, Coach Eyestone, Ashley and the kids! It’s all very inspiring to watch everyone support and rally around Clayton. Great series so far.
They have a great coach. He gives them mental support, asks for feedback checks for recurring injuries or potential flare-ups. This series is unique, I have never seen something similar. Pure artistry
Love the positive energy all around in this episode! What an amazing running community you have! Also the girls joining and supporting you on the track is so cute 😊 All the huffing and puffing in your workouts make me feel better about my struggles when running gets hard, like it’s supposed to hurt and supposed to be hard sometimes 💪 Keep crushing it and staying healthy, Clayton!
You guys are BEASTS! Nice to see the rust busting between week 2 and week 4. Love the longer episode and seeing how dad’s journey is the family’s journey.
Would have been interested to hear more on the Atlas Shrugged chat. Chuckle. Good to see it rolling this week. Best running videos on youtube, imho. Thanks for these.
These videos have been absolutely amazing! Thank you for Asics for working so hard on the quality and thank you to the athletes, coaches and families for opening up your lives and sharing this journey.
This series is so dang good. The story, length of each episode, music, coloring - it's setting a new bar. After the 3rd episode I thought the only thing that could make it better is to get more of a glimpse into Clayton's family life. Then his girls come to practice and start saying, "I love you" and "You're strong" 😭
Hey Clayton! I was able to catch you at the Night of the 5000s this past Wednesday and it was awesome meeting you! Keep up this series, you’re changing the game by being an elite Olympic athlete posting quality content like this.
Clayton what’s your least favorite type of workout? 😜 Gearing up for my fourth marathon block and this series has been majorrrr in getting me gassed up again. All the best this summer!!!
I really liked this first video I have ever watched on your channel. The track work was great. The long run out of Park City was pretty cool. The weight room is a vast improvement over the one that we had 40 years ago in the SFH! Oh, and the food that your wife gave you after the track workout looked great. Only one criticism and that is that Ed should wear a helmet when he's on the bike.
Right now I am doing sauna sessions twice a week. But as I get closer I'll start doing them 5 or 6 days a week. I'll also start doing a lot of easy mileage with layered clothing.
Someday we'll do a day of eats on the series. Usually my sessions are short, so I'm just fueling before and after with simple carbs. But in Marathon workouts I will usually use Maurten.
Where were you guy's running at 18:20 in the video. I'm a local living on the Wasatch Front and would love to go running in that area, its very pretty.
Jeremy Ranch Road. From the Park City side it goes about 8 mi on dirt before you hit the pavement. It's rolling downhill which makes it grindy on the way back up.
I get the feeling you run a lot of mileage in the Metaspeed Sky. If you were to guess about your next hundred or thousand miles, about what percentage would be in which shoes?
Let's say I run 100 to 120 miles a week, about 12 to 15 of those miles are in the Metaspeed Sky for workouts. Another 65 miles is in the Novablast or Nimbus, and usually 20 to 25 miles are in the Superblast for my long runs.
My favorite comment yet. I couldn't spoil it... Totally agree, everyone needs to read, Atlas Shrugged. This is my second time through the 64-hour audiobook.

You're spot on. As cliche as it sounds, it takes a village. Thanks for watching!
So great! Thank you for mentioning “patience” and not peaking too early in the build!
Also, thank you for great motivation and inspiration 👍🏃🏻♂️
"Let the fitness come instead of chasing it." Wise words. Can't wait to see the rest of the series.
Man have I made that mistake before…
That shot with the horses at 15:21 ... what a dream. This is inspiration.
They have a great coach. He gives them mental support, asks for feedback checks for recurring injuries or potential flare-ups. This series is unique, I have never seen something similar. Pure artistry

Running is metal, I mean mental. 😅 Thanks for watching.

I hope so too. It's a lot of work, but if we can keep growing and make it more sustainable, I'd love to!

Would have been interested to hear more on the Atlas Shrugged chat. Chuckle.

Best Olympic marathon training series I've seen I can't wait to root you on in Paris!
Loved seeing your sweet family cheering you on. Great progress! It's inspiring.

Chest strap HR monitor and the arm band HR monitor. Love it.
Chest strap holds the mic, arm band gives the data. 🫡
Great series! Amazing shot at 5:40. Ed is a King.

Clayton what’s your least favorite type of workout? 😜 Gearing up for my fourth marathon block and this series has been majorrrr in getting me gassed up again. All the best this summer!!!
I would say 1200s are my nemesis, but I have come to love most workouts with good company.
Thanks clayton 🎉
Really interesting!
Finally you drop again🎉🎉
I really liked this first video I have ever watched on your channel. The track work was great. The long run out of Park City was pretty cool. Thanks for watching! I'll be sure to tell him. 😁
Caffeine and trap bar. Got it! 👍
Lol. You know my secrets now.
So good. Not too fast! That could be the title of the series
Ha! Yes, accurate. 😂
Yes!!! Go Clayon!!!!
Babe wake up, Clayton’s new video dropped
Love the editing, athlete, and storytelling. I'm curious, when do you do more heat training as the event is going to be quite summery?
Right now I am doing sauna sessions twice a week. But as I get closer I'll start doing them 5 or 6 days a week. I'll also start doing a lot of easy mileage with layered clothing.
Am I crazy or are these somehow getting better every week?! Or is it just excitement as we get closer to Paris 😅
"Ouch. That was great." #ThingsRunnersSay
that long run VIEWWWWWW man.
Did you hear that? Yeah the Discovery Channel just called...
😂. Give 'em my digits!
This is a great series, respect. What do you eat during trainning? GELS or nothing

Cutest support crew ever 👯♀️
Así a verter Sign Habs!

More Hobbs!!
Yeah buddy
What type of Cross Training does Conner Mantz / Clayton Young do?
I despise cross-training, but when necessary, I prefer the arc trainer.
How you gonna cut out the Atlas Shrugged book review.. 🥺
Maybe we get the conclusion in the next episode 🙏
My favorite comment yet. I couldn't spoil it... Totally agree, everyone needs to read, Atlas Shrugged. This is my second time through the 64-hour audiobook.
Gym Shoe: do I see the OG Magic Speed?
Haha, you got it! My lifting coach wanted a lower/stiffer stack shoe, and I found an old pair in my locker.
What heart rate monitors do you use
I use a chest strap that doubles as a holder for the mic. And I also wear a whoop armband.
Please upload moree 🫡
I'll be sad when the Olympics get here because this series will be over.
We'll see what happens! This series is a lot of work, but with the right community, it could last a long time.
🙋🏻♂️🇧🇷👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Why is he wearing two different heart rate monitors
Maybe in case one is off that day
One is a chest strap that doubles as a holder for the microphone. One is a whoop armband. In short, I'm just a nerd that loves data. 🤓
Awesome to see the progress and the realness of training! Keep up the great work!
Criminal you’ve still got only 8k subs
Des Linden gave Clayton's series a shoutout on her pod with Kara. Hopefully that'll bring some more folks in. Well deserving of it.
Ed can’t pronounce Achilles
