Great episode with all the chaos at the end, the Japanese buyers brawling with Izzy and the reggae band, TV crew, random dog barking in the car, gun kicked in the water and Crockett & Tubbs show up and are like, WTF?
Ill be 37 in a few weeks I remember as a child up until now this song and episode....I'm actually watching Miami vice (epi.) On Starz and I decided to look this song up GLAD IT'S HERE
The best part of that episode is the capsule being bumped into the water by the fighting family and Japanese buyers and the look on the estranged wife's face when she saw the reggae king floating down the canal ... "oooh my gawwwd!" Would have been a good ending for the video. Ha.
This was a funny episode, they found a Reggae star 'freeze' body. Hahaha that was so epic, even at the end of this episode, when the body was floating over the sea :)
iconic song, even more monumental tv series!! Unforgettable vibes of times so much different than today's spiceless lifestyle. And yes, the song - the original version, a gem by famous African Band Black Uhuru, was the soundtrack to an exclusive episode, one of the most moving and sentimental ones; A Reggae Superstar dies mysteriously and the two Miami Vice Agents set out to investigate. But the story played out so dark and imposing at one point. In the last scene coffins are floating in the sea off the shore of Miamai. Even the legend James Brown, held a 2nd role as guest star in that episode!!
This was that one episode and song I remember mesmerizing me as a kid… it’s still such an amazing song !! Cheesy but classic episode too ! I had the Crockett suspenders and button up Hawaiian shirt in my kindergarten pic !!! 😎🙌🏼
you 've got it all wrong here, I am afraid. This is NOT the episode featuring the original version of Black Uhuru's super-hit single "What is Life". This is a funny remake or remix of some kind, put randomly as music background on a silly random episode of Miami Vice. THE actual Episode was very different. A famous Reggae musician loses his life under mysterious circumstances. The duet is then called to investigate, for the additional reason they are old friends with the victim. Near the end of the episode, rhere's a chilling scene, with coffins floating into the sea out of some Miami marina. Even James Brown was guest in that episode! So, you may need to refresh your memory. comment well intended just so you know :)
Still, the episode you describe here IS "The Big Thaw", as it is mentioned in the description of this video which shows different scenes from the TV Series.
Rico Crockett You got one silly episode per season(usually Izzy has a big role in these!) But even that's fun. I loved the ending with the body being released into the sea.
Great track, and I know why you added Vice footage here, but it totally cheapens what the song is about. But then, if they never had a video, no idea how you coulda done that. ;)

This is one of my favorite episodes, and the one I remember the most

Izzy was funny and had a big part in this episode, and also the dog :-)

As Tubbs said, " The guy's fly food! " Great episode as mostly was common with this classic, ground breaking series.
Black Uhuru is amazing. Sly Dunbar is legend status on the drums.

The big thaw and missing hours. Two episodes than can be erased. MV Forever.

This seems to be a 12 inch remix-shortened-by Smykle/Kevorkian with a vocoder thrown in ,bit of a mess imo.
Episode was stupid but funny. And Robalard(sp) goes floating down the canal at the end. "What is life? Nutting but cheap" rofl.
Cheshiechick 🤣😭😂
One of the best mess-with-your-mind endings that they did.
Love Peace an Reggae!! beautiful esxy DJ!!
Funny episode, specially the Japanese investors
miami vice molto bello come telefilm
nice song
Loved the song. Episode was kind of stupid. But still had some cinematography.

I didn't take advantage but I left off a ep after this one. Now Hulu has taken it down and probably won't be back until mid spring the earliest.
@@americangangsterlock1550 It free on NBC and Peacock. The high definition version is on Starz.
One and best Crockett!
