      Lol Hey David. I did go back and kick snow on the fire after I got come cool shots after doing my walk away. That machete hybrid id unique so makes the cut certian hatchets would be better in ways however. But as you say winter rules apply. Thanks for tuning in and catch ya later. Cheers

    I've never seen anyone drink chaga tea before. I know of its use for fires. What does it taste like?
    A bow saw with the larger teeth might be easier than that saw you used. Next project a saw horse perhaps, to make Life easier for you in cutting and processing wood for your shelter and fire.
    I wouldn't have relied on a book of matches, in my experience they are not great at all.
    Nice video, I enjoyed it. Best wishes to you.
    God bless,
    Steven.

    • @TheRealTedBaird
      @TheRealTedBaird  4 года назад

      Hey Steven. Chaga makes a nice tea but its largely bland no really strong distinct flavor. Definitely a bow saw with larger teeth would make faster work of that wood and I agree with the book of matches not beiing the most reliable there r definitely better options but I like to mix it up sometimes I guess. Thanks for checking it out. 🍻

    I need to replace my lawn chairs - you know, the ones with aluminum frames and canvas seats that degrade too fast in the sun. I think I will make some bushcraft chairs. To make them last longer, I will debark them and roll them in hot coals to harden them. Love the tutorial. A guy on another channel carries two large animal skins with him - one for his dog to lie on, and one to cover the bushcraft chair for himself.

    Cool outing, Ted. Will be attempting to cook on a flat rock next weekend for the 1st time. Looks very practical and fun (I also saw you doing this on a recent vid). Like Mors always said, "The more you know, the less you carry" - no plate, no skillet, no grill and no cooking utensil/s to lug around and have to clean; they're already there in the woods, just waiting to be utilized or crafted! As always, thanks for sharing and ATB.

    That's a lot of work there Beast Man. Kudos. Question... if you took the time to flatten out the slats for the seat on one side, why not flatten them out on the other to create a flat surface for your behind?

    • @TheRealTedBaird
      @TheRealTedBaird  4 года назад

      Hey Thanks! Yes that would have been better. The main concern was to get the top as even as possible by cutting different amounts off the bottoms because the sections were different thicknesses as were the seat supports...but flattening the top in addition wound have made it better 4 sure but to be honest it was pretty comfy as is more then it looked. Also was gettin late and wz burning daylight. But good suggestion 4 sure any more ideas r welcome always room 4 improvement. Thx 4 tuning in cheers 🍻😎🐕🔥⛺🥓🍳❄

    Hey Ted. Great vid. Looks like Bella had a blast. I like the chair build , however, I think I would like it a little higher off the ground, bad knees, sucks. A couple of things I have mentioned to you a few months ago, you sure could use a pair of suspenders, and your spring there sure could use a little doctoring up. In the spring, dig out a good sized hole in the waterway so you can dipper out a good bit of clean fresh water. Only trying to help bro. Enjoy. Rick.

    • @TheRealTedBaird
      @TheRealTedBaird  4 года назад +1

      Haha thanks Rick why are my friggin pants always fallin down. Always seem to have blue undies on when they do also :S I agree with the Creek if I make the place a staple that i frequent splashing water into a mug would get old quick. This creek does have deeper sections however unlike the other one where I made the Ash Bark roof shelter. Very pretty creek this one..... Also you can adjust the height your knees are off the ground with this style of chair by sliding the seat in or out and tilting the back support forward or back. As always I appreciate the input and suggestions. Take care my man ! Cheers

      Hey that would be a cool thing to do 4 Bella she does get cold on the ground with her short fur. Glad you liked the Chair turned out well my 1st like this so wasn't sure if would workout. The Chaga looks scarry but is very mild tasting but I understand the concern lol. Hey James Thanks! Glad you liked it. There is a Link to the Saw on Amazon in the video Description. The saw is Just a simple lumber saw made by Irwin you can likely get one or a very similar one at Home Depot or other Hardware store. Its good because its durable and can saw through large pieces of wood. Its drawbacks are that the teeth are small so it cuts slower and it doesn't pack up small like other saws that are good for camping still pretty good and wont break
