      Wll the other piece of this too is that this is just arbitration and not an actual court. the "judge" has way more leniency to do whatever the heck she wants and rule however she wants versus if she was an actual judge in court.

    In law school, they taught us not to practice in an area we're not familiar with, unless it's an emergency (i.e., just got arrested at 3 am). Other than that, get someone else! All the son does for his dad is doc review. But, also very disappointed in his knowledge of contract law. Everyone should know contract law.

      Not all lawyers go to court a lot. There are corporate attorneys, trial attorneys, and litigators. A whole range of them. Corporate attorneys rarely go. Trial attorneys go almost every day. Litigators go a few times a year.

      I feel the son did well for his dad, he stood and spoke his peace for his father and he tried. Whether they won or not he supported and stood up for his dad. Instead of knocking him as a lawyer, give him credit as a son. Anyway, that's my opinion.

    Bought a used car in CA. Discovered the next day the block was cracked. Dealer said tough sh*t. Told the dealer he'd be in major trouble for selling a car without seat belts. I got a refund :)

    The first mechanic never tested the on/off switch to see if it was the problem, he just guessed that it was. If he had, they might have found that the safety switch was the real culprit.

    Judge told son he can't be here to make legal arguments but only as a witness... son proceeds to spend almost his entire time making a legal argument, not testifying about what he witnessed.

    They say that the safety cutout was the real culprit, but was it? The plaintiff's repairman had already replaced a load of wiring that was allegedly rotten, so how do we know that it would have worked at all with the old wiring?

      From my understanding it depends on the lease especially with commercial property and some landlords actually build out properties specifically for some tenants because the lease can be longer term and l/or higher rent.

    I don't think the plaintiff should have paid the mechanic when the mechanic didn't fix it. The verdict doesn't seem fair. The defendant agreed to absorb the cost of the repair, but there was no repair and the plaintiff single handedly paid the money. Or so he says. He didn't have any proof the mechanic was paid.

    I understand that the lawyer is the defendant son and of course you're going to do everything you can to try to defend your dad but in the end he should have admitted that yes his dad was in the wrong he signed a contract when you sign a written contract you are bound by the Four Corners of that contract and his son still says he thinks it was wrong he must be the world's worst lawyer, how do you think it's wrong you see that your dad signed it not only did he sign it but he's the one who wrote it out people need to take responsibility and admit fault when they know they're wrong stop making every excuse in the book as to why you're not wrong you know if that lawyer was representing the plaintiff it would be completely different and he would admit that the defendant was bound by the signed contract
