    So is there like a lot of designing involved, like maybe drafting a bit? I sorta consider myself to have both an artistic and practical side, and I’m currently trying to figure out my major for certain (engineering field). I had considered architecture before, but I really don’t see myself as simply focused on just how things look, I do like learning about the structure of things, and was wondering if Architectural Engineering really has those two main aspects.

    Useful information: this major makes less money than other engineering degrees on average, this degree has low satisfaction rate, lastly this degree is rare and has very low graduates. This may sound like a good thing bc there is more jobs however civil engineering majors will get the jobs instead. Their degree is better understood by employers and more common. Civil engineering is also more general for what careers are available. Take that as you will from someone who just swapped majors.

    • @TheGravyson
      @TheGravyson  3 года назад +4

      They are kind of like runners in a relay race, they’re both working towards the same end goal but are responsible for different parts. Architects handle more of what the building will look like, arrangement of rooms, where the entrance is etc. Engineers make the building functional by designing the structures, systems, and how the building will be constructed!

    • @freddyfrostbearplays1777
      @freddyfrostbearplays1777 21 день назад

      You probably could do both, I’d recommend applying as a architectural engineer and employers would want u to help design with architects a lot more including attending their meetings, pitch ideas for designs and having knowledge in both means you’ll be a bridge between engineers and architects meaning you’ll be relied on to lead presentations to clients since you understand both sides.

    • @TheGravyson
      @TheGravyson  3 года назад +2

      I would check with the specific universities you want to apply to, typically masters degrees in architectural engineering require some sort of undergrad in engineering because the masters will be more in depth and you'll need the basics learned in undergrad. However, many architecture (not architectural engineering) graduate programs do not require a technical undergraduate degree, but can have a lot of the same aspects of architectural engineering.

    As a person who wants to work as consultant and open a consultancy center,would you recommend a Bachelor of architecture or a Bachelor of Science in Architectural engineering? Can Architectural engineers work as architects in the future like design buildings and other facilities? I really need help here

    • @TheGravyson
      @TheGravyson  3 года назад +1

      I'm not super familiar with consulting, but if you personally don't plan on doing any architectural work I would not recommend the B.Arch because it takes longer. In the US, Architects and Engineers cannot switch without going back to school because it is a requirement from the licensure board, but depending on the types of projects (typically smaller projects are more flexible) one might not need an architect or engineer specifically, so they could kind of act as both
