- You say you want multiple layers of protection on your paint, but you're not sure which product to stack on which. In todays episode we show you the method we've found to result in the greatest protection, longevity, and shine.
First, we start with a ceramic coating: HydroCharge Plus Ceramic Spray Coating is a revolutionary ceramic treatment that sprays onto any painted surface with a simple squeeze of the trigger! With HydroCharge Plus, you can get all the benefits of a ceramic coating without the expense, time, difficulty, and headache of traditional ceramic coatings. You no longer need a professional to get durable long term protection, incredible water beading, and a high gloss light-reflecting shine- simply spray on this coating for instant results!
Next up is the glaze - Black Light is pure eye-candy for black and dark-colored cars. The amazing hybrid glaze adds tons of deep wet shine, fills in minor imperfections, and lays down a layer of durable sealant in one step! Seal in all that goodness with a sealant! Traditional waxes only last a couple months at a time. Chemical Guys developed JetSeal for the aerospace industry, which demanded strong protection for jet airplanes flying in extreme hot and cold temperatures. A coat of JetSeal helps repel pollution and contamination, enhance a brilliant shine, and preserve a smooth finish for up to one-year.
Finally, if you need even more glow and shine, go with a carnauba based wax, like Butter Wet Wax. Butter Wet Wax is a smooth, liquid creme wax that melts into the paint like butter for easy on/off application to give you the deepest, wettest look imaginable in a matter of minutes. Now your car has the ultimate protection, each product's unique abilities joining into one amazing shine.

How do I remove something like this from my car. Yes I know it's dirty plan om cleaning later tonight. But I have a sticky string mess unknown what it is. How do I remove it
If you guys hate tags so much why do you keep manufacturing towels and applicators with tags on them? Wouldn't it be easier just to manufacture them without them?
Probably rebranded from china
@CG. 1Wash 2clay bar 3compound 4polish then use the other four items after I'm done polishing.
Applying product to Ram 3500 truck hood. Metallic Dark Brown paint.
Ok, big question.
Because wax is being used last (before Hydro Speed) can I apply wax on top of the stack and top it with Hydro Speed?
I’m thinking about buying Pete’s 53 paste wax.
Thanks guys!
My ride looks awesome!
Love the products. 😁
Detailing two black Harley Davidson motorcycles this weekend
Happy detailing!!
Many thanks for the detailed explanation, here i was thinking the Ceramic Coat was the silver bullet that fixed everything.
Can your product (with the exception of HydroCharge) be used with other brand of Ceramic coating??
Hey guys I just did a carbon force ceramic coating two days ago. Should I do this process and when should I start? Or do you recommend another product?or should I skip some products?
hi CG team. once i have done this, given the ceramic and sealant last a year, what do i do for maintenance? just washing with extreme body wash or hydrosuds, and then adding more wax for shine? Or can you do glaze/sealant/was anytime you want?
Also in 12 months time, if you want to do it all again where do you start? do you use Clean Slate and start again?
You guys do excellent tutorial videos, thank you but I have a question for, you always do videos on fairly new cars with good paint job , why not show with older cars, it's more challenging. Thank you
Thanks so much for your feedback!
If Butter Wet Wax cleans paint as well as apply wax, as you said in the video, does this cleaning agent then compromise the layers of product underneath it? How do these products adhere to the Hydroslick or other silicone base layer and stay on for a long period of time? It seems like the glaze would all wipe off of the Hydro product base layer.
Can the wax be applied staraigh after jet seal or should I wait 12 hours ?
Hey! Allow at least 30 minutes before applying Butter Wet Wax.
Here can I use hydroslick ceramic wax in place of butter wax?
I don’t care what the haters say mane “chemical guys product are diluted” I AM a chemical guy💯
Thanks so much for being part of the Chemical Guys family!!
You mentioned that jet seal needs 12 hours away from the elemts but is it OK to use butter wet wax right after buffing off the jet seal?
Yeahp that's correct jet seal gets dry to apply another coat or Wax un about 20 minutes later. Now to get 12 months of protection as a layer on the Paint you need at least 12 HRS away from the elements, to ve honest I recomend 18 to 24 HRS away.
Doesn’t the wax come first and the jet seal after?
@@osheaelnegrojackson3105 if you put Wax first, when the Wax felt off you lost the protection. Waxes last a Max of 2 to 3 months, it depends on the Wax. If you put it under the sealant, theres no chance to last. First the sealant then the Wax.
@@DreamstoRealLife Ohh ok gotcha thanks for the feedback bro 👍
The only place I’ve heard recommending wax on a ceramic coating.
Hey! Add wax on top of ceramic to add more protection and warm gloss.
@@ChemicalGuys Strange. Every detail shop/technician that I’ve seen has said do not add wax on top, if anything add a gloss intensifier.
Honest Question: Instead of butter wet wax, why not use Hydro slick instead???
Since hydroslick is a ceramic infused wax, it’d be best to use that layered directly on top of the hydrocharge.
🔥🔥Love It🔥🔥
Glad you enjoyed the video!
Can I use the Hydroslick Ceramic Hyperwax in place of the butter wet wax? Also, to keep it up to par when washing should I use Hydroglide or Hydrospeed?
Hi there! HydroSlick can be used as a standalone barrier of protection. Use HydroSuds and HydroSpeed to maintain your ceramic.
I have a bottle of black light, but it’s been sitting in my garage for about four years. Is it still good to use?
Hi there! Our products have a shelf-life of several years. Shake the product and check for separation before use.
Do you have to wait 12 hours after Jet Seal to use the butter wax?
Hey! Allowed at least 30 minutes before applying Butter Wet Wax.
Do you need to do an ispropl wipe down between products?
Hi Mary! Use Wipe Out after polishing before applying coatings. It is not necessary to use in between layering coatings.
How come nick doesn’t do any vids anymore?
Hey Kyle, stay tuned!!
If i recently applied ppf to my car, can I use these products on the ppf?
No
I have I have butter wet wax n hydro speed detail I want to use both which one should I put on first n second
Hi there! Apply Butter Wet Wax and then use HydroSpeed to boost as well as maintain shine.
@@ChemicalGuys thx u so much
How good is using jet seal after polish, as a stand alone product?
Nothing is necessary after jet seal unless you want it to look deep and wet.
Hi Austin! It is perfectly fine to use JetSeal as a standalone barrier of protection.
First
Happy detailing!
If you plan on doing this I recommend you getting up 7am and start. This is an all day process.
Used butter wet wax on my durango.... that thing is clean 🤣🔥
Gotta love Butter Wet Wax!
I love that stuff.
Good to see the tried and tested method of glaze, seal, and wax. I have all of the fantastic products in the video and use them on my cavansite blue Mercedes.
🤩🤩
I think it may help my blue tesla...thoughts?
Is the jet seal necessary if I’m using blacklight which has sealant in it?
So jet seal has to cure for 12 hours but can you aply the banana wax right away before the 12 hour cure time ?
I always apply hydrocharge last not sure why a wax would go ontop of a ceramic
Can anyone explain or refute these claims?
1st Ceramic coatings and wax 100% do not mix so if it’s in the name it is complete snake oil.
2nd additional wax on top of more wax does nothing. You’re wasting time and money
3rd let’s say hydroslick was a true coating, it isn’t, but let’s pretend here. You put a coating down then double top it with 2 less hydrophobic products you get the performance of the top layer. I am referring to this case and not so much a true coating with a true coating topper
Do you recommend this regimen on a new car just purchased?
Absolutely!
If I just got a step 1 paint correction done and ceramic coating can I still apply jet sealant to my car?
Can butter we wax work as a drying aid?? Also will it help with water spots after a wash with out spot free water??
I am going to be detailing a 2018 civic hatchback. After blacklight do I have to use the jet seal? Can I go straight to the butter wax? Unfortunately I have to do this outside I have no indoor space to do this
What did you end up doing and how did it go??
So how long .... if you do all these steps will this protection last?
You mentioned microfiber wash but I have a question about wash mitts and microfiber towels. When should we get new ones? I keep mine really clean but I know I need to eventually replace them. I just don’t know when. Thanks.
Hi Anthony! Once the microfiber begins to feel rough or non longer absorbent it should be replaced.
So if doing the hydrocharge would you use hydroslick as the glaze step on the flowchart or glaze after hydroslick?
Hi there! HydroCharge can be layered with HydroSlick and your favorite glaze as well as sealant and wax.
Spectacular products. Bad bad bad sprayer. Can you all look into updating the sprayers please?
Maybe it’s my own undoing. I like to keep some car cleaner items in the car, and the sprayers leak on your bottles when it’s hot out. My latest catastrophe being a scent explosion. You dang near smell my car from a block away 😂
Yeah they aren’t supposed to be left in heat like that , could mess up the gel/or liquid consistency of the product too even if it doesn’t explode 😂. anyway have no problems and keep them inside

Hi! I can do sealant and after hydro slick?
Or I have to do sealant and wax?
And I can do sealant, wax, hydro slick!?
What is the sequence?
When applying White Light with a polisher, can you use a black pad or best to use a blue pad?
Hey David! Absolutely, it is perfectly fine to use a Black Hex-Logic Pad to apply White Light.
@chemical guys how do I get that flow chart?
Say if i wanted to use slick finish cleaner wax, would it still be a final step since even though it has micro abrasives? Any suggestions help.
Okay so after the jet seal sits for 12 hrs do you recommend to wash it with a ph soap before applying the butter wet wax the following day ?
No lo tienen en español este video ?
Why do you suggest to use the short pile of the microfiber cloth to clean the excess product? Why not the long pile?
Any recommendations for ppl with no access to a garage, i can only detail in open air what products should i skip or use instead.
What if you can't let it sit for 12 hours? What would happen if you waited a couple of hours and then go to the Butter Wet Wax?
Question, let’s say I do this whole process on Saturday, the next following Saturday, the only thing necessary for me to do is wash and dry my car? Do I need to re-apply any protection after it’s dry?
Hey going through this process today for my Ram, just so im clear, there is no issue putting butter wet wax on right after buffing off jet seal? Planning to travel for a week so it will sit in a garage for 7 days after completion but want to make sure putting wax right on aftee sealant doesnt compromise the sealent
My vehicle doesn’t fit in my garage and my driveway has no shade… how do I clean/maintain it?
What is the difference between the HD polish and jet seal? Can you please elaborate?
Hello, will the protection last more than 1 year after using all these products and proper maintenance ?
Is it ok to have my vehicle parked outside while hydro charge is curing?
I just got a black type R. After a light polishing, can I use hydroslick than the black light sealant or is another order better to care for the care?
how often should I repeat these protection steps, and should I polish?
The shine do look good but how long approximately will the protection last with all these products on?
Can you use blacklight then hydro charge?
I have a red tundra that sits in the sun every day. What’s the best uv protection product?
Hey! Repel harsh UV rays with ceramic protection by using HydroSlick.

Do you have or recommend products for the marine industry. I am specifically interested in detailing my outboard motor
Hi there! Yes, these products can be used for marine applications.
What if you have a brand new car? Can I skip the glaze and go straight to the sealant?
Hello! Yes, that is perfectly fine.
Got a 98 dodge ram that was garage kept. 48k miles. Gonna keep her in amazing condition 😁
That's awesome, happy detailing!
What if you can’t keep your vehicle out of the elements over night I should just skip jet seal?
Hi Carlos! Absolutely, JetSeal is a great option.
I think these videos are really valuable
Thanks so much for being part of the Chemical Guys family!
Where does the carbon force be at this chart before the glaze?
I have seen some reviews of blacklight lately as it got me interested but what pulled me off was that it contain micro abrasives. This is what the reviews say. It contain abrasives that fill swirls. Is it true?
I need to research as well but I don't think those would be "abrasives"
Can i use CHEMICAL GUYS HYBRID V7 HYPERGLOSS SPRAYSEALANT after blacklight and then wax or first wax then v7?
Hey! Apply wax and then maintain shine with Hybrid V7 Spray Sealant.
Thank you Sir! You Chemical guys are best and your support is amazing.
As a owner of a Hyundai with this paint. Did you use the fine clay or OG?
Hey! Use a Light Clay Bar for new or routinely detailed vehicles of an OG for slightly more contaminated vehicles.
Oooh guys, wonderful video, everything I needed. Just bought the black light and butterwet wax. Looking forward to use it! Have to ask that I would love to know how to maintain it or how to wash my car after 2 weeks applying these products. Just a simpel rinse of or snow foam and everything. And of so whats next??
Hey! Check out Extreme Body Wash and Wax to enhance and add a fine layer of wax with every wash.
www.chemicalguys.com/extreme-body-wash-wax/CWS20716.html
When you clay then use a machine to cut and polish is it 100%necessary to use a ceramic? Or is it reasonable to just glaze and wax? Or even just wax?
Hi there! Ceramic will provide the most durable layer of protection however it is perfectly fine to use your favorite glaze, sealant and/or wax to protect the finish and add shine.
@@ChemicalGuys Thank you guys!
Can I purchase a poster or something of your flowcharts for my garage?
Great suggestion!
2016 Buick Enclave Premium Edition...Black

The only bad thing is I couln't hear until I max the volume of my hearphones, also, which product should I use to protect it from the sun.
Hi there! Use HydroSlick to provide a long lasting layer of durable protection.
@@ChemicalGuys I will try it, thank you. :], damn sun.
Can I use black light, sealent and butter wax after hydro charge and hydro silck
Or can use only butter wax after hydrocharge and hydroSilck application
You can layer glaze, sealant and wax on top of Charge and Slick.
@@TheFed345 is the ceremaic stay longer with this?
is there an optimal temperature to detail a vehicle?
I would love to use you products but I can find them in Germany
Greetings from Southern California! Please search your local listings to locate an authorized distributor in your region.
I would like to know, what's just for protection only?
Hi there! Ceramic will provide the most durable form of protection however you can still achieve a brilliant shine that reject harsh elements with coats of sealant and/or wax.
So I have a black tesla, i bought black light, jet seal and hydro slick. Can I apply them all? If yes, in what order should I apply them?
Hey! Yes, apply HydroSlick to a bare surface then it can be layered with JetSeal and then Black Light.
@@ChemicalGuys thank you! I was thinking probably the otherway. Like black light -> jet seal -> then hydroslick. Thank you for the answer
@@ChemicalGuysI thought glaze had to be applied before sealant?
Did I just see someone put glaze over ceramic?
Hey! Yes, ceramic can be layered with glaze, sealant and wax.
The days of a simple wash n wax are long gone. Looks like I need a few more CGs products. Thanks for this one, was very helpful. 👍🏼
Thanks so much for being part of the Chemical Guys family!!
How long do you have to wait to apply Hydro Slick Wax after applying JetSeal
Hi there! Start by applying HydroSlick and allow about three hours before applying JetSeal.
@@ChemicalGuys can I apply the jetseal by hand or better to use a machine ?
What about on a white car.
Hey there! The same process can be used for white and light color vehicles just add White Light Glaze rather than Black Light.

Ok sounds good I just purchase the white last weekend at the chemical guys store in Arlington, Tx.

A car isn’t an investment, it’s a depreciating asset
But if you maintain it properly it doesn’t depreciate as much and some vehicles actually do appreciate.
I purchased a new Ram in 2019 for $32000 and sold it in 2021 for $38000 with 14000 miles on it .
I bet you're a riot at parties
@@usaratin I am because people who are financially secure tend to have more fun. I bet you think living paycheck to paycheck is “fun.”
@mintheman7 I'm same as you as far as being financially secure never financed a vehicle in my life but I only troll the trolls.
Can i do clay bar, hydro slick, glossworkz glaze, jetseal, butter wet? Or will those products not work together?
Very helpful video. I just purchased a 2024 Cadillac XT4 Black metallic, and black interior. I was looking to correct the paint and ceramic coat it.
Glad you enjoyed the video!
Detailing my car this upcoming weekend! '07 Audi A4 - Phantom black . Not a show car, but I bet you haven't seen an '07 A4 in better condition than mine🤩
Great video as always.
😃 Enjoy your detailing products!!
Whoa - this means my car is held hostage for two whole days to complete the entire process. Wash, dry, clay bar, polish, all four products with cure time. Not sure how many people can go nowhere for two whole days.
I just do it in steps 😂 I'll wash and ceramic then next week I'll wash and glaze, next week I'll wash and seal, next wax.
Not realistic! Can’t use these products.
are you saying you work 7 days a week cause just about everyone gets 2 days off witch is Saturday and Sunday
No. But what does that have to do with the original post? The car is still hoatage for two entire days without driving it anywhere. It's not realistic for the vast majority.
@LightofDeneb in an instance like that you would follow gritt's schedule. Wash, clay, polish and glaze/seal. Then come back the next week and ceramic or wax.
I thought it was hydro charge spray than hydro slick ceramic paste? Then do you use black light , jet seal and butter wax? And then at the end do you use that other ceramic coating that comes in a small bottle?
Hi Jesse! Yes, that is correct order if applying all coatings.
@chemicalGuys what glaze should I use on a Metallic dark silver car
Hi there! You'll love the depth and shine of Black Light Glaze.
Made more videos in Spanish please many people need too in Spanish and thank you
