Hilarious and infuriating all at once. To begin with I totally called it. The collapse. I was telling a Brit in the comments last match that England always have one abject performance in them on every Caribbean Test tour. After all the deluded hype about their supposed batting improvements. Boy I was so smug at 90-8. Clearly Leach and Mahmood didn't read the script! Given their own terrible batting West Indies might just have messed this up. We'll see after the first innings.
More than mess it up its really sickening to see how worthless they were to take the last wicket I hate to say but they are such a disgrace they have handed the opportunity to England to win the match an the series they r the best wen it comes on to losing they know the formula to create their own defeat no pride whatsoever
@@kenroyspence1846 you guys don't understand their is some odd delivery but the early morning moisture has left the pitch an it gotten flatter push the ball lost the shine so it becomes a batting pitch so tomorrow west indies has to get the shine off the ball then make runs or else it gonna be difficult for them

Unprofessional from WI at the end. They thought they had the innings sewn up after they had taken the 8th wicket, then a succession of loose bowling from Holder and Roach of all people. They have now handed the initiative back to England.
Leach has batting talent he recently got a hundred so don't rule out his batting & when he came the pitch might eased a bit
@@Telugu_Vlogs_Off I’m based in England so I know what Leach has done. Tailenders sometimes score runs either on flat pitches or when a team has amassed a large total and they come out and throw the bat around. On that wicket in Grenada with the team at 114-9 and the ball moving about WI or any decent international side should have finished the job.
When people ask why I love test cricket, I'll show them this innings. Can't judge a 1st innings until both teams have batted and bowled but this is right up there in terms of crazy

West Indies did well in taking advantage of the grass and moisture in the pitch in taking 8 or 9 wickets but unfortunately as we have seen or known them to do for so long in not having the killing instinct and closing the innings out..lets hope that the 96 run last wicket partnership doesn't come back to haunt or hurt them in the end but still relatively well done I suppose.

Had a similar experience this season, had a team at 9 - 110, they end up making 220, and the no.8 batsmen who hadnt made over 20 for the whole season cracks an 80, i love but hate cricket haha.

Great effort from the Windies. We let it slip a little, but let’s hope we can make up for it with the bat.
Regardless of being 90 odd for 8, to get any top team out for just around 200 in their first innings in test cricket is a very good performance, you cant always get a team out for less than 100 in their first innings to win a test match, let's wait until the boys bat now get a lead of over 150 plus, that will take the total to just over 350 runs which is gettable easily, then theres no way we can loose the game, all in all a good not great performance, but a decent one it's up to us now, application is key

It's been a long time India have come to west indies for a test series. If can please arrange a test series in West Indies with India. We will see how current indian batsmans especially young players like shreyas Iyer n pant perform in west indies condition
With Mayers in for Permaul, the Windies batting depth this match is ridiculous with only Seales being a traditionally weak tailender. They need to look for 350+ to put England out of contention for winning this match
With Mayers at 6 Jason holder will be at his correct #7 position. Jason is not a #6 batter.
@@boymeetsbush8232 holder is the 2nd best allrounder in the world behind Jadeja, he is more tham capable of batting at 6. The thing with Mayers, is that he plays with VERY hard hands. Holder can drop anchor and accelerate, Mayers cant

🤣🤣🇯🇲🇯🇲 Blackwood and Mahmood has some crazy moments in this series so far..... Mahmood's happy hour was crushed by the umpire perviously when he bowled out blackwood with a no Ball, Mahmood was 1 runs away from his first half-century milestone and he would have creating history today if he had score the 50 runs but he was bowled out for 49 runs by lucky guy Black wood.....I could feel Mahmood pain when the ball hits his wicket, I wish he had got that one runs though...😭😭🇯🇲🇯🇲
Well that was really good to see some fight in the tail, finally our tail showed some grit and determination, well done to Jack and Saqib. Now as for the others well all I can say is wait till we have bowled to see what's up, nice to see some grass on the pitch, I bet the curators are kicking themselves now having left the first two tests on flat rolled dirt pitches. Grass on pitches is good, it always has been.

@@muneebahmad4378 the only solution is these lads playing red ball cricket - there’s a reason Joe Root is a top top test cricketer and that’s because his focus has not been on franchise or white ball cricket, always test. These lads need to look at themselves and decide what career lath they want to take and decide whether they want the feeling of accomplishment having long test careers with their country or earn big bucks playing franchise white-ball cricket. Only top top players can play all formats and we simply don’t have any of those right now.

Lessons from today's play: Batsmen can play like bowlers and score runs but batsmen can never bowl like bowlers and pick wickets to rescue their team from a losing situation
It as happened before on alot of occasion until some batmen became all rounder

He is really. Yes we know he can bat a bit but he’s hardly an all rounder and bar his 92, his next highest test score was 26 before today.
@@patricklangdon5853 i know of course he's in for his bowling it was just a way of saying i think he's a valuable member of the squad and with all the chopping/changing at the top it would be daft to be leaving Leach out and trying other spinners like some commenters have suggested. Anyway they're not bad scores for a bowler, and its not all about that either(remember his heroics with Stokes?!) Hes also difficult to get out, like a leech!😆👍

I can criticise Wi for not removing the last pair for under 150 but I been there before! Multiple times a last wicket pair have ruined my day. Even when me and my fellow bowlers are on song things never went our way and we were stunned at how we had a team at 54 for 9 and found ourselves chasing 210! It happens so well done Leach and Mahmood. Well done Wets Indies to bowl England out on day one. This test will have a result, surely
