MIRA SAFETY MADE A COPYRIGHT CLAIM ON THE ORIGINAL REVIEW BECAUSE WE SHOWED A FEW SECONDS FROM THEIR CM-8M PROMOTIONAL VIDEO! Edit: MIRA Safety claims that what we reviewed was an older version of OM-2020. That's actually not true! The OM-2020 in the video was manufactured in 2023 after a series of upgrades where as they say, the oro-nasal cup was replaced and other aspects were tweaked. So unless they released even newer version in the meantime, this mask is in fact identical to the currently available CM-8M. Many owners of the mask from the US agree it is the same and they also confirmed the drinking straw issue. The only notable disparity between OM-2020 and CM-8M is a different company logo embossed on the side of the facepiece and of course the price. We didn't even mention the previous version of the mask as it was recalled some time ago and it doesn't reflect what the CM-8M is now. We know it because we still own the first commercial version from 2021 and that’s what MIRA Safety described in their lengthy comment. I know there's an overwhelming amount of information floating around this gas mask so in case you have more questions, feel free to ask us!
@@James-kw5yj That's an interesting perspective! Maybe the ones wearing OM-2020 were in fact bad guys who raided a laboratory where a humanitarian research was being conducted and MURDERED everyone inside!
@@cbrnacademy lol , I have definitely noticed a remarkable amount of people wearing cm7m in the United States that where rioting thanks to the reporting from Andy ngo

Option A: Sell a product for what it is, be honest, make profit Option B: Re-name a product, completely oversell it and reee when someone uses your own promotional footage of "operators" killing people using a better product. Of course MIRA went with Option B because they're same sort of business that would quintuple insulin prices if they could get away with it
I agree with your description of what they business model is based on. I would also add "and they actively try to silence those who try to make people aware of it".
I have an OM90 mask and one drawback that worries me is the rubber bands from the exhaust valve sticking together when not in use for a long time (I keep it in a gas mask bag in my "5.11 FLEX GAS MASK POUCH" bag). After putting on the mask, you can't release air because the valve is blocked). You have to take off the mask, remove the cap on the exhaust plug and slightly cut off the rubber valve so that it comes unstuck. Then put on the cap and you can use the mask normally. The inhalation valve also wears out quite quickly and closes fully with a delay when exhaling. This is most visible when you use a hose for the mask. When exhaling, the hose farts and then you can hear the valve finally closing, while you can feel something similar to recoil on the mask.
Thanks so much for sharing your experience with the mask and even though I never experienced similar problem with the exhaling valve, the valves on this particular mask are as basic as it gets. I got so used to the farting sound with OM-90 over the years I didn't even point it out in the review, but its great you did. We will most likely talk more in-depth about types of inhaling and exhaling valves in our upcoming videos as they are crucial for proper seal.
I got a new CM-8M after I returned the original for warranty, while it fits better in the oronasal area and doesn't pinch like the original, it still has a problem where you have to push in the nose cap so far to reach the drinking straw that it breaks the face seal, not worth it.
Very nice video :] Do you guys ever plan on doing a review of the US Army's M40 gas mask? I think that would be pretty nice, just make sure you don't use the black colored filters, due to them having chromium in them, the green colored filters are safe for use, but a lot of them went onto the civilian market due to their lot number failing life span tests, would suggest looking into it cause id be typing here for years xd
We definitely want to review the M40 gas mask and hopefully we'll be able to obtain some of the cool looking accessories as well. But the thing is, M40s are hard to obtain in Europe which is in stark contrast with the plentiful availability in the US. Of course it's not that difficult to simply buy it online but we need to be smart about the customs, possible import taxes and so on. But hey, many people are asking about the M40 review as well, so at this point it's just a matter of short period of time.
As of today CM-8m is half the price of the C50. Would it be considered a good entry level mask? $500 per mask for a large family for the C50 is steep unless you buy used.. Thoughts?
There's not much I can say about the most powerful argument there is - the actual price of the respirators. Avon gas masks are more advanced in almost every aspect, and so they of course cost much more, which is a deal breaker for most potential buyers. I can't comprehend why they didn't start making FM12 respirators again, specifically for the civilian market as they would not cost as much as C50 and in terms of safety and comfort, the FM12 is still the golden standard in my opinion. But back to reality. If I were to choose one of the MIRA Safety masks, I would go with the CM-6M (review coming up in Q1 2025).
The charcoal-lined one? We will cover range of CBRN suits in 2025 and the MIRA Safety one is no different from other similar suits. Well, it is extraordinary in one aspect and that's unsurprisingly its price.
If the CM8M is just an OM2020 would you recommend buying a brand new OM2020 instead or is there another gas mask that you would recommend? I have issues with razor bumps that leave me with rashes and open sores on my neck and face, so what gas masks are good for people like me who can't use a razor to get a completely clean shave and have to rely on clippers for a close-ish shave, or am I just screwed?
I think you would face the same issue with any gas mask as any facial hair can potentially break the seal. On the other hand, no one shaves on daily basis in anticipation of a chemical attack and especially not me. What you might find interesting is a CBRN hood we're going to talk about in the next video. It's kind of a gas mask for bearded people. 🧔♀
@ Thanks for the info, just subscribed so I’ll be on the lookout for that CBRN hood video. If I buy a gas mask, I’ll just get a couple of small single bladed razor shaving kits and put them in my get home bag and my bug out bag. Idk if I would be fast enough to quickly shave off my beard but I’ve already made up my mind that I’d rather deal with some nasty razor bumps than get injured or killed in a gas attack 🤷🏽♂️

I always watch other gas mask reviews before I release mine but when it comes to videos about masks from MIRA Safety, in 99% of cases they are just blatant commercials. Most of the shills making them obviously didn't see a gas mask before and that's the kind of "reviewers" this company needs.
When i wore my “Mira” mask for a long period of time it cut the bridge my nose, the quality of the oral nasal cup is one of the worst parts of the mask in my opinion
I didn't say that. I just pointed out that there's a possibility of that happening because I already went through the replacement process with a spare OM-2020 I own and multiple CM-6s as well.
Mira is too low tier garbage. I originally before knowing thought that their “level 4 plates” were real until looking up the patent and realizing it was chinesium. Andrej is the best at CBRN knowledge and equipment usage.
