Just fitted one of these to my latest build, the guy it's built for came up with using one of these. I've fitted many pickups and I can say without question this is the best I've ever heard. The sense of breathing, with every note coming through, and dynamics off the chart! Wonderful things!
Just bought a 1996 PRS mohogany back maple top bolt on maple neck, somebody replaced the original Dragon 1 pick ups for a Seamore duncan Jazz in the neck and an invader in the bridge...anyway it sounds fantastic but really high output. I called the a local PRS dealer and asked if they any recommendation based my tonal tastes which are Jazz/Rock/Fusion/Blues in nature not so much on the super high gain stuff. The guy from the dealer says well everyone around has Thornbuckers in their PRS's, ha! anyway you're getting some love out there Pete! can't wait to get mine!
I’m looking at installing suhr thornbuckers HH into a strat style or Ibanez RG style guitar. What mm do you recommend? 53mm for both neck and bridge or 53mm bridge and 50mm neck?
Hey Pete, always great tone and always great playing! thinking about putting one of these in the neck of my. LP, the Duncan '59 is too wooly for me, however my Seth Lover in the bridge kills, Any idea how the Thornbucker compares to it? (The Seth)
Great demo. I have a lot of questions but I'll only ask two: Tonally, is there much difference in the pickup between covered and uncovered? and Is that model Suhr guitar available in left-handed? Thanks..
Pat Kilgore Hi Pat- not much difference uncovered! That's why we are using this particular cover- it doesn't affect the tone very much. You can order any Suhr custom guitar in a left handed version, as far as I know!
Hey Pete, I've been waiting to see something with your signature for a while now... congrats on this! 2 questions: How's the dynamics on those pickups? How/Where do I get them in Italy or Europe? Thanks man and rock on!
stratofever Hi, maybe send an email to CS@suhr.com to ask for a local dealer. They have great dynamics! Great roll-down on the volume pot, just really balanced pickups.
For bridge pickup, I am debating between this and SSV in my new Suhr classic build-Roasted alder body, roasted maple neck , v60lp single coils in middle and neck . With this work for that kind of guitar as well? Tough choice between this and the SSV... What do you think John or Pete? Thanks!!!
Depends on what you want- the Thornbucker bridge pickup, to me, has a bit less upper treble, it makes single notes up high on the E and B strings nice and fat without being shrill.. even mids, bass, and treble. The SSV maybe has a but more bass and treble emphasis. Both nice!
Hi I play a blues, jazz,r&b, To Prince style so I don't necessarily do hi Gain but I do play dirty would these be better suited for just a rock hi gain sound?
Good to know! I actually bought them and had them installed a few weeks ago and Pete, you designed some stellar pickups! I'm really, really loving them. So thanks for working with Suhr on these, they are amazing!

Best PUP's ever. Literally installed them in every guitar and in every position!
I've tried Bare Knuckle, Duncan custom shop, Dimarzio and Fralin but these hit that sweet spot. Great clean and split tones!
I had no idea Pete Thorn ever had long hair. I dig it so much
I have a couple of Suhrs with these, the dynamics are outstanding. 👍 Been buying guitars since the 70’s
What about putting this in a HSS Strat?
Thornbucker vs Shawbucker????

The Thornbucker clean tone is fantastic too. They should demo it.
Are these potted? I love how these sound but this is the only thing holding me back if not. They sound great!
mikef09 Yessir- lightly and carefully potted.

Will it work with my all mahogany prs mira Pete?
Does this work better with ML or v60? SSH configuration on a Strat.
How do they differ from SSRs?
Is it going to be available in different colors?
Yes absolutely !
when this will be available?
now! :)
My god that tone is what I've been looking for. What is the song that is playing in the background?
MrLowery741 Hi Matt- it's just a track i came up with to demo the pickups! Glad you dig.
Play crazy eyes!
What a dick hole you are Ivan
Maybe Ivan, you just go to play with yourself. Pete is a great guy and has done something with his life... but who are you?
@@pekkalaaksonen8384 what happened to his eyes no hate here
clean? yuck!
Dang. I wish I had a guitar that I hated the pups in so I could throw in a pair of those. If/when I get a Suhr, that's definitely gonna be my pup.
