  • Do you ever use the PAST PERFECT TENSE (“I had worked”)? Do you know this advanced tense can help you talk about the past in a special way? In this English grammar class, I’ll teach you when to use this tense, how to use it, and what mistakes to avoid. You will learn: structure, usage, pronunciation, spelling, contractions, questions, short answers, past participles, and irregular verbs. This class is part of the engVid program on ALL the English verb tenses, designed to take your English to a higher level for career growth or academic success on English exams like the IELTS or TOEFL. I've never understood this tense 100%. So, hopefully I will have understood it by the end of the lesson. I'll be editing my message.
Edit 1: Ok, so because I'd already been reviewing this tense for a few months before I watched this video, I already knew how to use it. But I'd still misuse it occasionally. That's why I wanted to master this tense.
Edit 2: I have not really learnt much, but at least I'm having some fun while re-studying it.
Edit 3: The lesson's done. I think I pretty much know when and how to use it.
    Thanks for your wonderful lesson.

I had just had my shower.
Had you had a nice car?

Hi Teacher. I had spoken to her before I came to London. I had learned some words in English before I came to London, but I did not. How to use them until I watch your lessons. When we arrived, the meeting had started. By the time I moved to London, I had learned English, I had met many friends, and I had learned cooking. When the police arrived at the scene, the criminals had already left. She had left the party before you came. Before I sat he had pushed me. Before I left home I had taken a bath. Before I left home I had brushed my teeth.
