    I want to thank teacher Rebecca and Engvid for such a rich and helpful content, it's the only one that I found on RUclips which the verbs are explained detail by detail and not just in a superficial way. I've been learning English for almost five years and never could master the tenses the way I'm able to do it now. I can't wait for the present future and present future continuous classes!

    What is the difference between "simple past continuous" and "past perfect continuous"? Could you please make a video?

    • @nasirahmadkhairi4550
      @nasirahmadkhairi4550 4 года назад +6

      when we use simple past continues we talk about an action that happened in the during of another action that we was doing in the past.
      For example: The phone rang when I was reading the book.
      It means in the during of reading the phone rang and he stopped reading and answered the phone.

    • @kumudunisubasinghe2090
      @kumudunisubasinghe2090 4 года назад +3

      @@MeryemKocabayDesign No dear. There are some rules in English. little bit confused. when we use simple past continuous we use it as storytelling. We can describe it as when something was happening in the past and something happened "at the same time" as previously said the phone rang while I was reading. In the middle of the activity " reading", the phone rang
      But perfect continuous use to describe something had been happening and when "something happend" .it means one activity has already done or finished. Hope u got it😊😊😊😊

    • @nasirahmadkhairi4550
      @nasirahmadkhairi4550 4 года назад

      @@MeryemKocabayDesign
      No, we can't use past perfect continuous here. because when we talk about past perfect continuous, we had completed our action in the past and after that did another action.
      For example:
      'I had been jogging before it started to rain' it means I had completed jogging and after that here happened another action.
      Past continuous has different case as I said before.
      For example:
      You read a book from 2 PM until 3 PM yesterday. I ask you:
      'What did you do at 02:30 PM yesterday?'
      You say:
      I was readind a book.
      It means at 02:30 PM you were in the during of reading.
