I love how you tied in your own experience of personal hype with your channel into the video about The Price of Hype. It really wrapped up the video nicely so good work! I'm 1 of these new subscribers from your biggest video. Once I saw it, I watched your other videos and I saw your subscriber count, and was like this dude is way underrated and needs more subs. This video is my first notification from your channel and it did not disappoint! I look forward to your next video, but don't worry, I won't get overhyped ;)
I played Cyberpunk 2077 on Ps4 when it released and oh man it was bad. I played until the mission when you go with Jackie to the All foods to get the robot for the chip mission and dropped it right after that. I experienced some visual bugs, glitching through walls, subtitles staying permanently stuck on the screen, occasionally crashing... things like that. But what bothered me the most was the playability, moving, shooting and driving felt so wrong to me, like the character was floating, there wasn't weight to it. And the aim sensibility preset was all over the place. I thought that even Fallout 4's controls felt better than cp077, and for a game that was supposed to be the next big immersive gaming experience of the century that just wasn't acceptable. So I dropped it. I was so disappointed I stoped playing games all together for months, I just didn't feel like playing anything. I eventually got back into gaming (played Hzd and Hfw) and about a year later I decided to give it a second chance to see if after all the patches it was finally fixed. And it was mostly fixed to an acceptable level, I still had to tweak the camera controls a bit until it felt right but it was much, much better than on release day. Now I'm on my second playthrough and I've been enjoying the game quite a lot, I'd say it's one of my favourite games now, and I like it a lot. TL;DR After the initial massive flop of the game on release day, my expectations for Cyberpunk 2077 fell down to zero, so after I quit playing, when I tried to get back into it, I had no expectations for it which allowed me to accept the state of the game and finally enjoy it. It's still not what we were promised, but it is pretty damn good now
Great video. I used to be in game dev and this made me think about the game I was most proud of; Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. I think one of the reasons it did well was that all of the promotion was 100% true. When the game was shown at conventions or on streams, it was just someone playing the actual game.
think about this channel "ghost limit" is like the entrance to the temple in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade which a series of challenges were designed to prevent most seekers of the Grail from finding the room in which it was stored. So "Only the penitent man will pass." and find this channel. 😶🌫
It's certainly possible. However, Team Cherry's display of effort, passion, and fan respect that they used on Hollow Knight helps me not to worry. And hey, if it does end up being bad, life goes on.
A good example of this right now is the new Pokémon games, they’re a buggy and unfun mess yet sold millions of copies in just the first few days it was released.
Cyberpunk 2077 is an absolutely phenomenal game that was ruined by false expectations and belief that some features (that were never advertised of promised by CDPR) would be there. Anyone who finished W3 knew what it was going to be and it was exactly that, it's just W3 but in a different setting and with guns. 2020 GOTY imo.
There is a 4,5+hour video about Twin Peaks Actually explained. We... he... have good reasons to believe this is the point what David Lynch wanted to make. Who cares about the victim. All we care about is the killer. Also look it up what is going on in Elite Dangerous. Developers created a scenario which will re write the entire landscape of the primary playground. Enjoy the show do not wait for the NextBigThing! :D
One of the few game who survive the hype and even surpass the expectation was Elden Ring , hoverhyped at one point even with that , the game was great , delivery everything on point my only disapoint personally was the ost , but the game is fine
You're very naive if you think fromsoft is not trying to generate profits as much as ubisoft or ea. Elden ring is a glorified ds3 dlc bud, just as bad as cyberpunk with many issues of day one. Elden ring still crashes and stutters and all the lag issues from previous soulgames are still present.
Cyberpunk wasn't bad, it was just ok and with those expectations just ok is not good enough. I liked the first part of the game and later some of the story missions like the one where you play with Silverhand. I think it would have been a better game if they just focused on a linear story and scrapped the open world.
Hype doesn't ruin game releases. Crappy publishers, time restraints, lies, and crunch ruin game releases. You don't overhyped a game, your hype is based on the expectations the advertising has purposefully built up. Even if you have a moderate amount of hype, and you release a crappy unfinished broken mess, or something that is clearly unfinished with little content, the release will suck. We need to stop blaming ourselves for being ripped off by the games industry.

Main story might be,but to me I can’t say the same for most/all other parts of the game.
great video, i think u deserve more subscribers

this makes me afraid about silksong, but it can't be disappointing, right?
Nah, team cherry can't mess it up
They keep delaying it just to make sure it lives up to the hype and realises their vision of what they want in the game

Thanks for the video. The folks that subscribed to you subscribed for YOU, not just for more videos like your steam library video. ❤
Fable is the OG of false expectations.

lord knows this video is gonna hit me when walking dead saints and sinners ch.2 releases tomorrow
I played no mans sky over 30h at launch it did not disappoint me the only problem was the lack of content they fixed the incoming updates
The first moment of the video l thought about Spore. Low behold, Spore is the first one shown. It was my OG overhyped.
Silksong though, is bound to be the GOAT

Great video
Hope silksong will not end like this
Im sure that in a few months you will have 50K subs
Wonderful
1:15 PlayStation PSN is so scummy you can't return pre-orders, or even normal purchases can't recall now, once you started DOWNLOADING the files. lol
Nothing can disappoint me more than launch No Man’s Sky. I can’t be hurt like that again (hopefully)

No Man's Sky is still sinfully boring. It's not just a you thing. xD
