I played rs3 for a time in 2018-2019 as a coping mechanism when my mom fell ill with cancer and I enjoyed it, naturally I came back to osrs but still it was worth my time on it. As long as you enjoy playing it, than who cares what others think.
I've played RS3 from start of EOC. It was incredibly janky and broken in those early years, but they started ironing out the kinks and it's been pretty solid since 2015-2016ish. The quest storyline from the "new" quests, that was released from that time until now is also amazing if you really love the lore of the world. Jagex is even starting the discussion with players about removing or modifying how MTX works in the game as well. The end game PVM is amazing, and there's so much content to do, which can be a positive or negative, depending on what you want. There's a really annoying part of the game which is the daily/weeklyscape activites. There's so many of them, and if you play "efficiently" during that mid game portion, it can feel like you only do dailies and don't actually play the game for a while. Other than that, it's an extremely fun game. I would actually love to see progression videos if you're at all interested in making those. KrityaRS and Bibzuda7 makes good RS3 progress videos. Dyanne makes high lvl PVM content, specifically over 37.5K % enrage zamorak as of right now, I would love to see reaction to those from someone that has no idea what's going on.
To me, the biggest flaw with Runescape 3 isn't the evolution of combat, it isn't the content added or anything like that, it's the way Jagex treats it's playerbase and neglects fixing some of the biggest flaws that have existed since the release of the evolution of combat. The MTX are incredibly predatory and they keep giving the players false promises about improving them then taking them one step further again and again. They constantly make incredibly lazy and boring events and treasure hunter promos that are made specifically to cater to the whales and bring in money. It constantly makes it feel like they are shoving them down your throat and it has finally started making me not want to play it over the past year or so. On top of that, each combat style has had fundamental flaws since the release of the game that have only been addressed by dozens of band-aid fixes over the years that alleviated some of the problems but never really felt good and it wasn't until the past year since the release of Necromancy that they really started to focus on actually fixing and improving things. Necromancy is by far the best combat style and shows some of the actual potential of the evolution of combat. All that being said though, the game can be incredibly fun and isn't all bad. The skilling when compared to old school is a lot more balanced towards the higher levels making maxing and getting skills to level 120 and 200m exp a lot more reasonable (even though MTX and double exp events do make them a bit too fast at times). Mining & Smithing actually makes sense compared to old school with things like metal armor actually being the tier and levels they should be. Archaeology and Necromancy were some of the most engaging skills I think Jagex has ever released. There's tons of extra completionist content that increases the play time of the end game by a lot. On top of all that, high level PVM has some of the most fun, engaging and difficult fights that this game has to offer and is incredibly fun to play. I would honestly say that right now is probably the best time to start playing Runescape 3 though. The future roadmap is looking really promising, adding tons of new and seemingly good content and attempting to rebalance a lot of skilling as well as them adding group Iron Man mode which could bring on a bunch of new players. As a whole, while the game has it's flaws, it can be very enjoyable to play and I always dislike the number of people who don't even want to give it a chance.
👏 Great comment, legitimately. Well thought out, concise, cordial, and above all persuasive to at least dip the toes into the water. Dunno why people have such an immense hatred for RS3 when we clearly have such a stranglehold over the Devs at Jagex to make sure that doesn't happen at OSRS. (Not saying EOC was objectively the wrong choice for the game, just saying it was the objectively wrong choice for the *TIME* it was introduced) And there's things that we can take from each other in a perfect world right? Both games can prosper and have their own "factions" of how they like the game, but if something is good for the players than it should be shared right? How would we ever know that if everyone just keeps blinders on and pretends that OSRS is the only game on the planet 😅
I got maxed in rs3 before necromancy released. Currently playing through an ironman in osrs. A good youtuber i remember watching for rs3 was guidesforusall. He did a rs3 playthrough that went into late game bossing and pretty well captured rs3. If you end up playing rs3, your biggest hurdles will be figuring out and adjusting the settings/ui to your liking and getting used to the combat. Necromancy has made it a lot easier to get used to combat.
I think going into RS3 with a more mature mindset and the understanding this is no longer the same game I thought it was, really helped with enjoying the experience RS3 has to offer.
Me too. And since I have OSRS, I can enjoy my ironman in RS3 until I don't anymore and then I can go back to my home. I played classic RS when pvp could happen almost anywhere. So if a hater reads this, don't at me. I was there when you could talk to Gower in the game. 😂
@@AaronGrosch29 rs3 has left osrs in the dust mechanically, and that's good. But keep coping about your click to wait game that has 1/1000th the players of genshin impact.
Do you know why people say rs3 is pay to win? Because they want to skip the grind, but that doesn´t mean it is pay to win. If you don´t buy keys, rs3 is still a grindy game, you can achieve everything without mtx, mtx is not needed in the slightest, it is 100% optional, people don´t understand that, because they talking about things, they never tried. If optional mtx bothers someone, just don´t use it or go for an iron man. There is no right or wrong way to play any version of runescape, there are different playertypes in every game, not just runescape. some enjoy the grind, some just seek a fun game to play, some love quests, some are really into pvm, or pvp (but there is no pvp in rs3, thats true :D ) I know runescape since 2004 and play rs3 since 2014 with breaks, have multiple accounts, and I never heavily used any mtx besides cosmetics. the whole mtx discussion is so stupid. I do love osrs as much as rs3, and I know a lot of osrs only players who look down on rs3, because it has mtx. but the only reason why they can play without mtx in osrs, is because there is mtx in rs3. what do they think? that jagex is a non profit organisation that would do everything just so you can play osrs forever? wake up guys, that´s not how it works.
Well done on doubling your following in only a couple of weeks! I have briefly played rs3 in 2015 but as i was a mid game account coming back to 4 new skills ,multiple new systems , fighting styles etc was enough for me to not play and go to OS. However i never thought it looked bad aside of the treasure key element and thats something you dont have to necessarily interact with. I look forward to seeing what my beloved game from childhood actually became because as good as oldschool is the clues in its name!
RS3 was okay when I tried it, I didn't play a lot of it, but minigames for certain skills like smithing makes some things feel a little more interesting. Some of the newer skills feel a bit too niche to me, but OSRS has firemaking so it's not like nearly pointless skills aren't alien to RS.
I found your channel recently and have been really enjoying your content! Glad to hear you are trying RS3, but as a suggestion switch to legacy interface (not legacy combat) if you end feeling overwhelmed. Because a pro and con to the game is the interface is fully customizable to your needs, but that means there is a lot you can navigate and play with.
How long until some guy says "rs3 bad" in the comments? Edit: about 5 minutes. Tbh, this is one of the better times to start rs3: most of the issues combat had, ever since the release of eoc, are now fixed (since around february). It's not a perfect game, but to me, rs3 ironman is the most fun of all runescape game modes.
I got a decent rs3 account. It's a good game compared to other moms. But osrs beats it imo. I quit rs3 because even after 100s of hours I still couldn't get the interface in a way I like it lol.
@@Capybarainahumansuityeah, rs3 has a lot more "fuck this" moments than osrs. I however will never be able to live without run energy, dive and surge again. Or without skills being worth training past level 80ish for more than just "number goes up" reasons.
@@nickman287 I am really enjoying my fresh RS3 ironman. I know I won't spend money for things and I set my own goals so I keep my head out of the pay-to-enjoy content and am having a blast. Many skills are simply more fun in RS3. I enjoy OSRS and probably still more than RS3, but I still think RS3 is underrated because of the understandably infuriating launch of EOC. It made me fade off RS back then too, but since coming back I've got 0 complaints (given my commitment not to care about P2W or Exclusive items behind paywalls.)
In the same boat man. Played since 07 on and off, quit at EOC, came back to OSRS later and made way more gains on my account in a few months than I ever did as a kid. Common story. Anyways, I used to be anti-RS3 but understood why people liked to play it, I just thought it had lost its touch. Never considered playing it again, but it was through learning about the game of OSRS with its lore and stories that got me interested in playing RS3, and when an irl RS vet friend came to me and suggested we play RS3 after trying to convince him to come to OSRS, I reluctantly jumped at the chance to play RS with someone I'd never played with and who new more about the game than I ever did. My whole goal for the playthrough was to do the quests I had a pretty good time on RS3 and would frequently run into things which felt to an OSRS enjoyer to be blasphemous, but I made an intentional decision not to take the game too seriously. OSRS players are so much more serious about the integrity of the game than RS3 players because its so far gone already. They don't have any pearls to clutch The quests and my curiosity of their potential changes got my interest and it was my goal to do all the quests and it was so interesting to see the smallest and oldest of quests got their unique spin. Don't believe me? Go do Imp Catcher, it's silly and you'll instantly realize what I mean! I also thought Necromancy was pretty cool actually So yeah I'll definitely watch you talk about RS3 and if you make a good balance and keep giving us your entertaining persona and perspectives, I'm sure a lot of people will stick around too. Don't feel so beholden to any particular fanbase and anyone that wouldn't watch you because of that is petty and not worth having in your audience. Anyone who is so strongly against RS3 should have the informed experience to criticise it effectively
I think its great that you're open to trying different games. Personal experience is a huge part of what makes mmos great. Tons of things to see and learn from that might even change the way your approach your home game. Great vid, excited to see you try rs3
You’ll have a great time, most people who shit talk the game have no idea because they base all their opinions off of toxic RUclipsrs and never actually try it. I personally play both and they are both fantastic games worth your time
@@YodielandInhabitant710 fair, eoc release was... well, rushed is an understatement. It basically took 1 year to fix the most glaring problem, and another 3 years to make it bearable, and another 8 (february this year) to fix most of its problems
Magic feels like your a sorcerer, there are tons of abilities to try, and interweave together in a way that feels like wizardry. Same with range and melee! Necromancy seems pretty neat ive only done a little but mage is honestly badass i used to just run ranged but mage is ...fun?
It's genuinely really fun, my brother, my friend and myself are all playing ironmen right now and we're going to join together as group ironmen when it releases next year ! I really hope you enjoy it bro, the PvM is phenomenal Sincerely, a OSRS Player
i love rs3, its my main game and almost 99 necro. i enjoy it alot and would watch the content, osrs is kinda already been played through as a kid, but rs3 is awhole different game and experience. the best and most challenging pvm content of any game ever i feel like.
I started Rs3 in ~2014 while in college, later maxing and really enjoying it as a main account. I honestly loved it, but found myself moving over towards osrs with all the paywall promotions and temptations to spend money in the game. I've since really enjoyed osrs and ended up maxing a GIM account with some friends. I plan on playing rs3 GIM when it comes out later this year... really excited to see all the things i've missed since stopping in 2017ish on rs3
I JUST started RS3 after falling off pretty quickly EOC was tough, but I endured a bit and then fell off. It's REALLY polished now. I did an Ironman and I refuse to pay for anything other than a membership, and it's been a blast. I think you'll find some polished and welcome changes when you come back.
Hope you have fun, rs3 is okey game not my cup of tea but there are things it does great and alot of things it does bad. But if you enjoy it that is all that matters in the end of the day. Happy adventuring.
Runescape 3 skills are not as linear as OSRS For example, in OSRS you train skilling linearly going from one location to the next and ending at 99. In runescape skills start to bleed into each other and offer activities that are not considered traditional training methods but will help you get to 99 in a more fun way. The best example of this would be to look at mining and smithing rework and how these two skills work well with each other, this creates a somewhat snowball effect when at a certain point you have a massive growth spurt on ur account regarding stats and progression. A lot of newer skills even including summoning work like this have these satisfying interactions, archeology is primarily a gathered skill but requires you to have lvs in other skills to get the rewards from it, similar thing with necro, invention, divination. I think one of the problems OSRS players have when trying out runescape 3 is they don't know what that starting path is and aren't willing to learn it whereas in OSRS a lot of that early game is heavily mapped out through in-depth guides and videos.
I have had those very same feelings about missing out on games we never played. Let me just say to you sir as a member of the community and a fan of the game and your channel, we welcome you with open arms into the world of Gielinor! Excited to hear your thoughts and opinions on the Necromancy skill/ questline.
As a runescape 3 veteran I would highly recommend avoiding mtx and treasure hunter, getting into community discords/active clan and checking out the content you like to do. I personally prefer pvm but quests, skilling, clueing all have their own pulls if you give them a chance. Good luck on your adventure!
i will say go into it slow. take a step back and really have a set plan. osrs you can start and just go. rs3 you really need to have some idea about what you are going to do. there is so many little things to do and unlock. i think you will enjoy it alot. even if you dont stay a super long time just to see all the new content that is different from osrs is a fun thing.
Welcome to one of the chillest gaming communities my guy. Rs3 players have generally been way more pleasant to interact with than what I experience on OSRS. Avoid w84 besides for Skilling purposes
I have quit rs3 in the past year because I basically did all there is to do (to the extend that it interested me). I maxed 120 all skills, and completed all of the achievements required for the trimmed completionist cape. I think under all the negativity and MTX there still is a very good game, the negative attitude of the community even on the game itself ended up driving me away though. Definitely play iron if starting out fresh, it helps dodge the MTX issue and only leaves the apathetic community :P Honestly if the game was as thriving as OSRS I would probably play it more than I play OSRS as much as I enjoy both.
One thing I miss about RS3 is the voice overs for the quest dialogues. I think that's something that would make quests more enjoyable and brought them to life and would actually give us a reason not to just skip through it.
Hope ya enjoy it mate its a good experience and alot more fast paced then osrs dont listen too the idiots talking about you losing a fanbase and crap theyre the kinda people who love tribalism, if the games not for you thats alright too and there is only one way to find out and that by giving it a go :)
best piece of advice i can give is if you don't care too much about achievements and/or don't have a lot of time to play make a Main account. If you like achievement and want progression to really mean something then play a ironman. Playing as a ironman will feel very familiar to you as its very similar to an osrs experience the only caveat is you cant trade but really isnt the bad honestly. as for content creators the biggest ones are RSGUY, Init Yeah, Protoxx, AshShley, Rheyo RS, ChevalricRS, and Fraqsu
If you really want to feel the RS3 Experience, please go Iron Man and avoid all MTX. RS3 combat is so evolved, it really improves the PVM experience beyond extreme prayer flicking eating and dodging and really time abilities to survive mechanics etc. Ive mained alot of RS2 and RS3, and never enjoyed playing RS3 more then with Iron man. The accomplishment feeling is so huge.
If maxing on OS took 1 year at most, I can invest on OS. OS grind feels unreal and endless lol. Once you're used to rs3 abilities, surge, run energy, toolbelt, money pouch etc, its hard to live without them. Even the current osrs can never replace my truest experiences of joy when I used to play the original real 07scape back in the day.
As an RS3 player, it’s great if you like PvM and awful if you want PvP. I understand the Pay-To-Win, and I wish treasure hunter was not only removed but deemed illegal for gambling, but you CAN choose to ignore it. And someone spending $300 to get a pink Santa hat and some XP lamps doesn’t impact your own experience of leveling up and taking on content as a solo player. I hope you enjoy it :)
I continued rs3 through the good and bad and the game is solid, the game is definitely geared more towards endgame content, but progression has gotten much better for low and mid tier content I recommend looking at a guide for customizing your UI to the best way you see fit. At its core it’s still RuneScape, it just evolved into something more engaging yes there is a lot of afkable skills, but to me that could be a good thing especially if you are new and want to get into the meat go the game quickly as possible. They do a great job incorporating skills and items to all work together 1 way or another with the elite skills invention it made useless items become very useful as well as necromancy combat skill you can either train as a non combat skill or combat skill or both.
been playing rs3 for a month and its been great, i cant say i regret my decision its a refreshing break from oldschool. i feel its just been imprinted on us that rs3 is bad when it really isn't and im starting to think all those people saying its trash either haven't given it a chance or just not played and have just jumped on the bandwagon of it being bad
runscape 3 ironamn is kinda annoying cos you have one part of the game, the newer parts that feels concise and makes sense, and at the same time ur still in 2004 running across the map to find a bucket
Having played both, they are great in their own ways. I'd describe them like this: OSRS for the nostalgia RS3 for when the grind gets to much and u just wanna chill (and not have ur run energy deplete in 5 seconds lol)
I'm definitely down with you trying out RS3 for us. I have 800 hours in OSRS and don't even have base 70's yet, and just recently got into Warframe which is another grindy ass MMO. But I'm also curious, and I'm also intensely f2p, so I don't want to be the one to dip my toes into something I can't dip my toes back out of 😂
I think that osrs players just think osrs is “better”. We don’t think rs3 is a bad game . We’ll say it’s dogshit to other RUNESCAPE players but not to people outside of the game .
I've only recently stumbled across you and your videos. Really enjoying them. Two game so love Rs and gw2. Watching them I feel like we are similar. In gw2 my favorite part is the story and being immersed in the game. Actually burnt out recently doing a full playthrough from the start too Soto. Then getting a few legendaries. Really wanted a lore story rich game. Stumbled on videos talking about rs. Haven't actually played since early 2000s with a log on around 2013 just to check changes. I choose rs3 over os. I haven't regretted a thing. As a father that works full time I find it hard to dedicate a lot of time and rs3 has so many great ways to afk train in game. As for challenges well a few skills go too 120 with more to come plus people going for 200mill in all skills. Sure more afk and maybe faster in RS3 but the ceiling is so much higher in it too. As for RS3 being bad I feel like the people saying that are the same group that never wanted os too evolve and change and kept it from doing so for it's early days. Mtx can be a bit aggressive but it's really not that bad. Most games even gw2 has in shop items and ways to progress your account but none of it affects me. Some one else wants to boost let them times money it does not affect me we are not in pvp or in a competion. So far rs3 has really impressed me with the story especially the voiced ones. I'm really loving it. Pushed most skills to 80 or 90s before I got started so I can binge quest. 😅😂 Also I find the graphics charming. It has its own unique look too it that if I saw any where I'd say that's rs3. They are not trying to be hyper realistic but at the same time things look very smooth and clean. I can notice right away when doing quest with none updated npc models. All in all it's a great game and I think you would enjoy it here the way you talk about games in your videos. Looking forward to watching your vids on rs3 and any more on gw2. 👍
RS3 is really only related to OSRS in name they are both such wildly different games to play. As for content my personal go tos are Protoxx and Maikeru.
The only thing that RuneScape 3 and OSRS have in common the the location and name. They are completely different games. Both are good games though. Just depends on what you value more I would say.
RS3 is a great game. I'm maxed, its odd I feel like a noob but I've been maxed for 5 years so 1/3 of the entire time i've played. I've been playing OSRS lately, mainly because I'm maxed and I wanted to be maxed on both. Both are great and even the combat, besides newer bosses, I play a lot in legacy which is the same as OSRS.
Bruh this man won’t be able to handle rs3. Arch is a grind, and questing is fun but a fucking grind since there is no quest helper or runelite to hold your hand. The switches are intense and learning full Manual instead of revo is super fun!
Runelite is in a lot of ways a bandaid over just creating a better client. While there are some plug-in’s that be nice like tile marker; a lot of the useful stuff just is built straight into the base client like entity highlighting. Some things like timers or helping with clues can be imitated with Alt-1. Quest helper is also a bandaid on the devs just getting with the times on more modern gameplay design. I can’t think of a single quest in the last 8 years that didn’t integrate proper ways to guide and direct the player. Not to mention the quest acceptance screen lists every item you will need ahead of time already, and the quest journal is generally better written and more helpful. Not to mention there is a wiki button you can use to bring up a quick guide and movement/backtracking just feels inherently less bad in RS3.. This really I think hits the root difference between the games. OSRS is always papering over everything, if a skill is bad let’s introduce a completely separate element to ignore it or a minor buff. RS3’s approach is that while it takes longer they need to address the root first so bandaids aren’t necessary. It does mean the updates can be less exciting than a shiny new activity or toy, but it makes the overall experience feel better in the long term.
RuneScape 3 is VERY GOOD both games have a ton to offer I personally prefer rs3 as i love all the new content and allmthe revamp ood content RuneScape 3 has changed its really neat What also ppl missed is rs3 is not just a copy but a diffrent age and time period in RuneScape alot happoen in the god quest and it all continues in rs3 from rs2
I played RS3 for a while. When I transitioned to OSRS i found my love for Runescape again and never wanted to touch RS3 again. RS3 sucks imo. The most egregious things are the MTX, the art and the lack of balancing. I love Divination though and wish we had it in OSRS. I did not really enjoy my time with RS3, but one of my fondest memories is camping the hall of memories in a during DXP weekend with like 800 other people
I cant count the number of time in OSRS where I couldve sped up my progress significantly by selling paid bonds, effectively a p2w boost. The culture in OSRS is relatively against doing this or talking about it much, but the truth is its still there. Do you have 85 ranged? A twisted bow is only around $1300 in bonds right now. I totally get that rs3's mtx is way more in-your-face, that's fair. But the choice to pay or not is always your own.
ngl to ya I really only play OSRS for nostalgia. I will never be willing to get another account to even level 100 probably. I just like skilling and smoking. I love rs3. I love bossing on it. It is the best PVE experience in any MMO there is.
set your combat bar to Revolution and itll be just like osrs combat with more flare lol and dps either way, you can buy gold in osrs so to me its JUST as mtx-y as rs3.
I gave rs3 a shot, and it is a pretty fun game, its just that the evolution of combat ruins it, ure forced to use abilities or ur pvming will suffer, also it doesnt have plugins like runelite does, aswell as the interface being a mess in rs3. It takes a tremendous amount of researching and looking at guides just to understand how to setup and use the interface, and even then it covers like half ur screen. Not for me.
Super easy game to progress in. Levels are unbelievably fast, gear is shockingly cheap. The worst part of the whole game is questing. You'll enjoy the PvM though.
@@AaronGrosch29 I’m basically maxed in rs3, content doesn’t compare to osrs, way too many micro transactions and absolutely no sense of accomplishment in the game. Of course this could all just be me. But majority do feel the same when genuinely comparing the two.
@@Thomasisapro How does that impact an Ironman playthrough? Both core games, IMO, are ruined by bots and direct involvement of real cash purchasing. Ironman is a way to measure your success based on yourself and your play experience. I might be missing something massive with RS3 though!
@@AaronGrosch29 honestly what I don’t enjoy you might! Just go try it. But I must admit I didn’t play an Ironman, just didn’t enjoy the main game enough to consider one. Now osrs I do have multiple accounts , a main, med lvl, Ironman, alt etc.
I don't like osrs, especially it's player base. Their hypocrisy it's off the chart. When EOC came out they started bitching about it that they quit the game. They said the game had change and didn't like abilities. 2 years later they got their OSRS version. Then they started bitching about p2w in rs3 that some quit or they went to ours. NOW they are gonna get their own version of p2w through private servers where they can modify the output of the gameplay. And they are happy about it. 😂😂😂😂😂
You wont get that feeling your looking for from rs3. Its a dieing game filled with so much dead content that its just depressing. The game feels completely empty and not like an mmo should. Theres no community because most everyone has left. Might as well be single player.
Then leave I’m sick of OSRS players ruin the game because they cant handle more complexity because all the BS about micro transactions is just that BS. It is the least in egregious MMO with transaction. It’s not like never winter or Diablo immortal. I spent 2200 dollars on upgrading a single character on neverwinter when I was a stupid whale. Rs3 is a great. The new quests the reworks of old quest. Skilling is actually engaging and makes sense on when you unlock new pieces equipment you can craft. Which was always irrelevant to you by the time you could craft it in osrs. I’ve played RuneScape since 2002 if your prefer osrs that’s cool but people need to stop lying so much to validate their choice to stay with osrs.
Do you think we're all here because this guy plays a game we have nostalgia for? I'm here because this guy says so much about these things I deeply resonate with. I'm here for him. I won't watch ALL his content but I'll definitely tune in for OSRS, RS3, Brighter Shores, WoW and almost anything else. I just have 0 interest in GW. There's a billion OSRS only creators out there for you to watch instead of taking a potshot at someone 😂. Chill man and just enjoy what you enjoy!
@@AaronGrosch29exactly. We all enjoy different things. I actually stumbled on to him from his gw2 branch out and now he has a new vewier. Crazy how toxic these osrc elitists are. Kinda a bit nutty and cult ish.
As someone who tried to stick with RS3 because I didn't want to lose my account progress, I can't stand it. The first thing is the graphics, I remember as a kid just logging one day and graphic were different, for me that took away a lot of the charm of the game, the newer textures just felt soulless or something I don't know, just don't do it for me. Secondly, probably the biggest deal-breaker for most people, EOC or Evolution of Combat for anyone who has not heard of this update, added an ability bar which is a feature basically every other MMO has and I cannot stand them, probably other things changed but the ability bar was the thing i remember the most and I just refused to touch it. There's many more things I really dislike about RS3, the UI is such a mess, they made it fullying customisable because they couldn't even figure out where to put everything, the micro transactions are pretty hell too, you can try to ignore them but they're pretty in your face. While there are probably many good aspects of RS3, for me there are enough bad to become a deal breaker, with just graphics are hard to look at, if you do a series on the game I'll watch and see if you can change my mind but I already tried many times over the 7 years between the release of RS3 and the time I finally got into Old School, funny thing is it probably took me only like a week or two to get my skills passed where they were in RS3, I think my combat skills were all like 40s or 50s and to me at the time that was like 3 years of work. I just logged in now highest skill is tied between Attack, Defense and Magic at 52, Strength is only 39, they would have been even lower back in 2013, not sure how much only played again occasionally when I felt nostalgic. It's interesting how inefficiently we played as kids, I remember just hanging out with friends or my old clan, we just decided that our base was a house in Draynor or something and would just meet up there and drink beer cause the house had a keg that we could keep refilling at. Damn, sorry this got so long, just reminiscing, wish I could still play like that but it's strange I just sort of can't
OSRS players are such babies about rs3, I hope you manage to enjoy it! I don't play rs3 personally, but I have thought about starting up an Ironman.
I played rs3 for a time in 2018-2019 as a coping mechanism when my mom fell ill with cancer and I enjoyed it, naturally I came back to osrs but still it was worth my time on it. As long as you enjoy playing it, than who cares what others think.
what do you mean "naturally"? Runescape 3 isn't unnatural?????
👏
Great comment, legitimately. Well thought out, concise, cordial, and above all persuasive to at least dip the toes into the water.
Dunno why people have such an immense hatred for RS3 when we clearly have such a stranglehold over the Devs at Jagex to make sure that doesn't happen at OSRS. (Not saying EOC was objectively the wrong choice for the game, just saying it was the objectively wrong choice for the *TIME* it was introduced)
And there's things that we can take from each other in a perfect world right?
Totally worth it. And I've played since 2004.
I'm still not totally interested in RS3 myself but it'll be fun to follow your journey throughout like with the other mmos you're trying.
My whole goal for the playthrough was to do the quests
I had a pretty good time on RS3 and would frequently run into things which felt to an OSRS enjoyer to be blasphemous, but I made an intentional decision not to take the game too seriously. OSRS players are so much more serious about the integrity of the game than RS3 players because its so far gone already. They don't have any pearls to clutch
The quests and my curiosity of their potential changes got my interest and it was my goal to do all the quests and it was so interesting to see the smallest and oldest of quests got their unique spin. Don't believe me? Go do Imp Catcher, it's silly and you'll instantly realize what I mean! I also thought Necromancy was pretty cool actually
So yeah I'll definitely watch you talk about RS3 and if you make a good balance and keep giving us your entertaining persona and perspectives, I'm sure a lot of people will stick around too.
I personally play both and they are both fantastic games worth your time
I base my opinion off of quitting when eoc happened
I base it on my own experience when eoc came and ruined the game.
"Toxic youtubers" is such a cope
@@YodielandInhabitant710 fair, eoc release was... well, rushed is an understatement. It basically took 1 year to fix the most glaring problem, and another 3 years to make it bearable, and another 8 (february this year) to fix most of its problems
@@YodielandInhabitant710so you base your opinion on an update that happened over a decade ago? Cool, makes sense
I really hope you enjoy it bro, the PvM is phenomenal
Sincerely, a OSRS Player
i love rs3, its my main game and almost 99 necro. i enjoy it alot and would watch the content, osrs is kinda already been played through as a kid, but rs3 is awhole different game and experience. the best and most challenging pvm content of any game ever i feel like.
coming from a 22 year vet with a 2500+ total level account, 100+ combat stats, etc.
Welcome to RS3 dude you’re gonna be stoked with the quests
Runescape 3 skills are not as linear as OSRS
For example, in OSRS you train skilling linearly going from one location to the next and ending at 99.
Protoxx is my go-to RS3 channel, at least for guides
I have had those very same feelings about missing out on games we never played. Let me just say to you sir as a member of the community and a fan of the game and your channel, we welcome you with open arms into the world of Gielinor! Excited to hear your thoughts and opinions on the Necromancy skill/ questline.
I love both games, and i'd love to try gim mode on rs3 if I can pull a decent crew together.
Have fun! Both game versions are brilliant in their own ways.
Being able to compare RuneScape 3 to brighter shores I think would be a fantastic idea. GL dude
I was surprised how much I enjoyed some of the old quests with the updated graphics and voice acting. It was pretty immersive. Enjoy your time man!
The Runescape Pivot has been huge!
Definitely play iron if starting out fresh, it helps dodge the MTX issue and only leaves the apathetic community :P
Honestly if the game was as thriving as OSRS I would probably play it more than I play OSRS as much as I enjoy both.
Or you could just play a main and have some self restraint. You don't have to gimp yourself to not interact with mtx.
Rs3 is a good game, I enjoyed maxing my old account on there very much. The combat is my favorite. I hope you enjoy it
If maxing on OS took 1 year at most, I can invest on OS. OS grind feels unreal and endless lol. Once you're used to rs3 abilities, surge, run energy, toolbelt, money pouch etc, its hard to live without them. Even the current osrs can never replace my truest experiences of joy when I used to play the original real 07scape back in the day.
Really enjoy all ur osrs content brother, will be looking forward to the rs3 (assuming) ironman content 💪🏻👍🏻
I hope you enjoy it :)
runescape 3 is like pkolaying runescpae for the first time again, its a magical expereience the first time
the only way i would play rs3 is being an ironman, but im waiting for the release of group ironman in late october to play with my friends
I’m a RS3 player, you can train agility with the silverhawk boots. This is not available for HCIM players.
I continued rs3 through the good and bad and the game is solid, the game is definitely geared more towards endgame content, but progression has gotten much better for low and mid tier content
I recommend looking at a guide for customizing your UI to the best way you see fit.
I'd describe them like this:
OSRS for the nostalgia
RS3 for when the grind gets to much and u just wanna chill (and not have ur run energy deplete in 5 seconds lol)
I'm definitely down with you trying out RS3 for us. I have 800 hours in OSRS and don't even have base 70's yet, and just recently got into Warframe which is another grindy ass MMO. But I'm also curious, and I'm also intensely f2p, so I don't want to be the one to dip my toes into something I can't dip my toes back out of 😂
the game is great have fun bro
Also I find the graphics charming.
Oooooof. Good luck.
RS3 is really only related to OSRS in name they are both such wildly different games to play. As for content my personal go tos are Protoxx and Maikeru.
Bro, I know that agility is bad, but bad enough to go play Rs3?
Theres dozens of us!
Will you be using your og account or starting with a fresh account?
RS3 is still extremely fun in 2024. Not sure why people act like you need to play one or the other, I play both extremely actively
RuneScape 3 is VERY GOOD both games have a ton to offer
I personally prefer rs3 as i love all the new content and allmthe revamp ood content RuneScape 3 has changed its really neat
What also ppl missed is rs3 is not just a copy but a diffrent age and time period in RuneScape alot happoen in the god quest and it all continues in rs3 from rs2
I played RS3 for a while. When I transitioned to OSRS i found my love for Runescape again and never wanted to touch RS3 again. RS3 sucks imo. The most egregious things are the MTX, the art and the lack of balancing.
I love Divination though and wish we had it in OSRS. I did not really enjoy my time with RS3, but one of my fondest memories is camping the hall of memories in a during DXP weekend with like 800 other people
Rs3 is so much fun!
I love RS3
I just started playing on my old rs3 ironman
perfect time to open youtube. first btw
ngl to ya I really only play OSRS for nostalgia. I will never be willing to get another account to even level 100 probably. I just like skilling and smoking.
I love rs3. I love bossing on it. It is the best PVE experience in any MMO there is.
set your combat bar to Revolution and itll be just like osrs combat with more flare lol
and dps
either way, you can buy gold in osrs so to me its JUST as mtx-y as rs3.
Definitely play Ironman on RS3.
openrsc for classic whenever you decide to play it
you will love rs3 Iron man EOC is the only reason people hate on it still.. but play iron man its so good
I gave rs3 a shot, and it is a pretty fun game, its just that the evolution of combat ruins it, ure forced to use abilities or ur pvming will suffer, also it doesnt have plugins like runelite does, aswell as the interface being a mess in rs3. It takes a tremendous amount of researching and looking at guides just to understand how to setup and use the interface, and even then it covers like half ur screen. Not for me.
finally the good game
Yessss join the dark side
Super easy game to progress in. Levels are unbelievably fast, gear is shockingly cheap. The worst part of the whole game is questing. You'll enjoy the PvM though.
Rs3 player base is like 15% of osrs for a reason…
Yeah because when all you hear about it is over exaggerated Lies of course that would put people off.
Still waiting to find why this game is horrible? It's more enjoyable than most MMOs frankly. I've been playing for a few weeks. We will see.
Rs3 is bad u can literally buy experience
If u want any respect from ur viewers in rs3 u have to be Ironman
why are you walking
You wont get that feeling your looking for from rs3. Its a dieing game filled with so much dead content that its just depressing. The game feels completely empty and not like an mmo should. Theres no community because most everyone has left. Might as well be single player.

That's bs!
@@violetb3666 pretty sure he's using his own nostalgia and enjoying himself. Making videos you dont like is fine, just go watch someone else. chill
Try Palia
It’s on the list, my s/o plays it quite a bit.
Rs3 is still the core of RuneScape. It’s where you go if you want content
osrs is so pvm oriented, at this point ur better off playing rs3
Blasphemy
Damn, sorry this got so long, just reminiscing, wish I could still play like that but it's strange I just sort of can't
blah blah blah, we get it. You get no hoes.
Quickest unfollow I’ve ever had
good for you now go be insufferable elsewhere, npc.
