It's been super cold these past weeks. In the video I take you to my daily life in this cold northern corner of my world. I hope all is good for you and this year has started with positive vibes 🥰

When I was in Norway in the winter where it was -20 during the day and -30 at night, everyone took their batteries out of the car and stored them in the house. Some even used electric blankets to keep their car engines warm.
We do a lot of things for the cars to work and still sometimes they just don't 🙈😁
I was feeling a little cold just watching this! Thank you for filming outside and showing us what it can really be like in such bitterly cold temperatures. It is indeed beautiful! I absolutely love the sweater you made.

Beautiful video Sanna! People who do not live in cold and snowy climates have no idea the extra work it takes to live, but to me, it is wonderful. I love shoveling, bringing in wood for the wood stoves and baking. The sweater is beautiful! Enjoy your cozy winter.
That pink sky is totally the 'Belt of Venus' atmospheric effect. It's the Rayleigh scattering of light at dawn of dusk! So cool. :)

Sanna, the first few frames of your vlog captivated me so much, I don't experience such deep cold here in England. -10 Celsius would be about as low as I've known it go in the High Peak, that would be exceptional and we would be cut off at that point! Thank you for filming your beautiful country in such exceptional cold you have been experiencing, it is at the same time awe inspiring, breathtaking and slightly frightening. One of the things i love the most about winter is how the sky turns to this soft pink when the sunset comes. I love winter 's soft colors so much. Everything in nature just invites you to relax and take it slow.
This is similar to where I live in the US. We just got 12-14 inches of snow, and last night the temperatures dropped into the negatives. Nowhere near as cold as this, but it's still cold. It looks beautiful out where I am, but at the same time I don't enjoy the cold haha.

So beautiful! The COLD came to the south of Norway too. We had the coldest winter of the last 10 years. And heavy snow ❄❄❄ Winter is so beautiful, I love it when it is like this 💚 Btw I love the wooly jumper, in the arms of winter ❄😍
Oh yes we did. Got to be the coldest winter in years!!! But as they say, with a cold winter comes a good summer right🤪🤷🏻♀️❤️❤️

That pink sky was amazing! I’m so thankful to have a garage where I live. Although this winter so far has been warmer, 4f or -16c here in Michigan USA. I remember those days without a garage and I would always try to park with the rear toward the wind to try to save just a bit of battery. But we also used something called a trickle charger to plug them in or if Diesel, there was a charger that kept the fuel warm enough so that it wouldn’t freeze.

Hi, Greetings from Australia. No snow down under, we are in the middle of a very wet summer. I love your videos. Where you live is beautiful and I like your home. Could you make a video how you keep your house warm and cozy during those very long and cold winter months please? I’d like to see more of your 200 year old masonry heater. Why is the left alcove black? Is that an open fireplace? How do you heat all your other rooms and your bathroom? I’d love to know.

Conditions sure are very harsh during winter time up there. But man is this pink-blue sky beautiful. I could die for it.
I always feel the same when being outside. You leave something of your daily sorrow behind.
It's been around the same temperatures here as well lately, and I have a somewhat new Skoda stationwagon that also refuse to start when it gets very cold. So about -20C it starts to behave a little weird, and -25C and more it can just refuse to fire up. That's why I recommend getting a battery booster, and I was recommended getting a more powerful one than I really need for my car for dealing with starts in very cold temperatures. I only got a 2L diesel engine but my booster can deal with up to 6L diesel engines, so it takes care of business very good even in -30C.
There's so much electronics in newer cars so if I cannot get a start after three tries, then so much of my battery has been used already that there's just no chance. This is why I carry with me the battery booster everytime I'm going out in the winter, because you never know when you really need it, as well as being able to help others as well if someone else may be stranded somewhere.
I never leave it in the car, because I don't want that to get super cold as well because it is basically a battery as well, so it won't like freezing conditions.

Beautiful... it is currently 4°f here which is warmer than normal, usually it's -12°f this time of the year. Although we don't have the beautiful snow (well not very much) like you do. I wish we had more snow. Thanks for sharing with us. The bread looks amazing!

Every time i go out into the forest it makes me feel less cluttered and more focused.I don't even realize it happens but it does.It's not Finland cold here but getting there and im excited.I plan on a trip to the woods with a small fire and coffee later today.We even have a little snow.❄️.If you ever decide to sell your sweaters let me know.I would love to own one.The Nordic designs are just great and so are your videos.Thank you so much for sharing.😊

@Sanna This morning in Minnesota the temperature was 7F/-14C. The coldest that we have had here in the south of the state is -22F/-30C. We have had a little snow, so today we have to start the big machine to clear the driveway. It is Diesel, so it doesn't like to work in these temperatures. Today, my other half has to learn how to work the machine as I am getting too old to climb into it. This will be a fun experience.
They all become fun stories in the end ☺️

Very nice place ! Great job doing the videoing, beautiful with the snow & frost on the trees :) Nice walk to just enjoy the sky, Looks like you had freezing rain on your car, a lot of scraping , enjoy your temps we had the Polar Vortex come in last week temp from -35c to -50c , we keep the woodstove full so we are toasty :)) we will have highs of -20c in a couple more days it will feel like spring :)

We visited Finland (Inari) just after that very cold period. It was a mere -29C when we were there 😂 The pink skies and the blueness of the afternoons and evening were so very beautiful. I will never forget my time there xx

Your videos are so meditative. Used to be that our winters on the Isolated Eastern End of Long Island were a as quiet... but not as cold!!! Now our population has grown so much... that it is too busy for my taste. I love your home and I strive for such a beautiful, simple and minimal feel in my home...

Hei, mitä kuuluu - thanks for this insight into northern Finland. I'm a Canadian now living on the Pacific coast, near Vancouver (mostly to avoid snow!!!) but when I lived in Toronto I studied Finnish simply out of curiosity, but also as part of a linguistics degree. Mastered the grammar but fell short of actually being able to talk freely. I love Finland so much and I love the language. I'm jealous of those who can speak it natively! Anyway, stay warm!

I like your idea of 'Nowhere' as a place nowhere specific. This way as you say there are no expectations. So we stay in the present rather than becoming stuck in the past or develop future anxiety. I love the simple life.
