  • Thankfully, living in SoCal, there are several half marathons and running clubs, which makes it a lot easier to train for a marathon because you’re surrounded by a community that’s also testing their bodies' limits. Training for a full marathon with friends by running half marathons is the way to go! It's all about the motivation and the laughs you share while pounding the pavement together. We keep each other going, especially on those tough days. Plus, there's that awesome feeling of camaraderie that comes from sweating it out and reaching milestones as a team. And let's not forget the friendly competition that naturally happens - it's a great push to improve. Then, after all the hard work, crossing that finish line and celebrating? It's the best feeling ever with your crew by your side! Not to mention a big brunch afterwards! Aside from the Ventura event, I ran 20 miles on the coast of California in Malibu two days after the half with my friend Shadi. Thankfully, he was willing to run it with me, and that was also his first time running further than 10 miles! Kudos to him, but yeah!
