I played as a female drow and was surprised there were no fem drow-exclusive options to tell Nere to know his place and stfu. You could bully Ghourm into giving you all his loot if you play as a female drow so idk why they didn't do the same for Nere.

I believe they patched it so she will just leave your party if you go back into Act 1, mumbling something about wanting to study tactics to beat General Thorm. This is what happened to me.

You can actually have him turn his back on the Absolute as a Lolth-Sworn Drow. You can remind him of his original Goddess and he will accept (after a passed check) that the Absolute is a fraud.

It’s why it would be a good idea for him to be recruitable, though he’s too similar to Minthara so it would be redundant. At this very moment though he isn’t under the Lolth dominion, hence why he behaves the way he does and tbf for a male Drow, the Absolute is probably an improvement, considering how they’re treated in the matriarchy.

I killed the Dwarfs before getting him out, but I let him go thinking he would do something helpful in Shar's Gauntlet (where I would then kill him for the Mushroom quest). That choice didn't work out well with Balthazar.
Tbh Nere wasn't exactly big even in act 1. Some dude stuck in the cave-in because rebel gnomes. With good part of local population plotting against him.
Yeah you go from some drow mage with a worm in his eye in act 1 to fighting a multidimensional level giant brain with a army of of 4th dimensional octopi and essentially killing 3 gods in act 3
Most of the villains never seemed big. Aside from Katheric, the other two were introduced so late into the mix (with very little context) that I never felt any thing after I was done with them. They just felt like checkpoints. Compared to Divinity 2 where I hated the guts out of Dallis. Hated then began to pity Alexander. And then the big plot twist at the end actually caught me by complete surprise and it made sense since the reveal was hinted at several times throughout the game. And the voidwoken were always a looming threat. Ah well...still a great game though.
@@proverbialking3452orin especially was a big disappointment, she has the best build up scenes for the lamest fight in the game. She’s hyped up as a skin changing assassin but when you fight her she just instantly turns into the slayer and becomes a mindless brute that dies in 3 turns.
It's a funny prospect but it would never work out if you know your drow lore. Drow are egotistical, ambitious and independant to a fault. They would never cooperate with other drow because of how their competitive society works.

After siding with Minthara and kill the druids, you can go through mountain pass and then safe/recruit her in moon towers. After you kill Ketheric you can visit Nere with Minthara as companion without cosmetic Mods. Minthara will not go if Ketheric Thorm is alive,this has been fixed with last patch

@@GregorMar Yes just explore it, even if you return later there would be nothing as cut scene with Minthara. I killed Balthazar but Nere was not his minion, so the game knows he is still alive somewhere in the undermark.

Sorry but all Nere can is look hot wile he has ash on his face and kills people half his size. I like him tho because of that. He is so laughable. He fucks everything up, and still kills the last remaning hands that could help him (thinking like the chaotic evil he is they could serve as his shield even) and he still throws it all away so willingly giving in to his anger. And he does not see that not even the Absolute wants him in the end. I pity him for his stupidity, but praise him for the entertainment he brought me.

The way Minthara is designed at least after last patch that you can't go with her to Act1(Mountain pass, Grimforge) , nor you can walk around with her round Moonrise towers, o essentially it's a partial Act2 and Act3 character, it's kind of boring you can't recruit her in act one convincing to hang around with you from the begining...
So If I decide to run on the grove before I will go tho the underdark and will go to moonrise towers in order to recruit Minthara I will not be able to go back to the Underdark to explore it with Minthara?

Either Nere or someone else should have been the second evil companion, after Minthara. You side with the druids, you get Wyll, Karlach and Halsin; you pick Goblins, you only get Minthara and just lose those 3.....a bit steep if you ask me
Because of betrayal. If you fight against Nere and all duergars in the same battle and you want to save the deep gnomes, that is harder than any part of the goblin camp.
This guy was dead for me. I partially blew up the wall and went to find more explosives, came back and he was just dead. Not that I minded. Easy free loot.
Long comment from a Drow lore fanboy: I have to shake my head at all the people who think a male Drow like Nere would 100% always bow the head to a female Drow, and claim that the interaction in this video is not lore-accurate. The characters aren't currently standing in Menzoberranzan (there are no other Drow present to enforce Lolth doctrine). Some of Nere's possible dialogue heavily implies he joined up with the Absolute to escape subjugation under Lolth, and considering they aren't standing in a place with temple guards ready to enforce male subjugation, it makes sense that he would exert autonomy here. Besides, he might have been raised Vhaeraunite, in which case: rather than bow and grovel, he'd instead be very likely to stab a Lolth priestess in the face during this situation. The brutal matriarchy of the church of Lolth is a major aspect of Drow lore, but it is by far not the ONLY defining factor as to Drow interact with one another.

Yea, I think I was Shapeshifted (with the mask) as a female Drow and he was still an ass, might have to try it again on another character just to be sure but if so, Larian missed that particular dialogue
I mean this particular scenario is literally impossible in the base game without modding because Minthara refuses to leave the shadow-lands until you deal with Ketheric, at which point you'll be going to Act 3. So there isnt meant to be dialogue here. If youre asking if theres new dialogue in general, I've heard from others that a lot of her stuff still feels bugged or missing after the hotfix, even in the parts of the game where theres supposed to be more dialogue (toward the end of act 2 and during act 3).
