Nah, i did have to kill them, just passed a insight check and did it,i already knew by Karlach that they were some bad guys. So, i place Karlach to enter by the front door, Lazel on the side door, Astarion and pc on the second floor, while astarion rained down arrows, i just went down the ladder as Karlach recjless attack the paladin, they didn't have a chance

The thing about the "meaner" dialogue options in Astarion's scenes is that a lot of them still totally work for a romance! 😂 It gives you the energy of two bickering assholes who would do anything but admit that they're starting to be kinda into each other. And when they eventually do, they still don't give the other too much credit 😂 That is, until the Act 2 scene, after which they turn to mush for the other probably

i wish they showed shar aligned shadowheart in here. she has v interesting lines because she also had to sacrifice people for her goals to be met

I physically CAN'T play the bad guy. In any game. I connect too deeply with the characters and feel it when i hurt them. When it comes to ever lovable characters like Karlach, i can't help but do every thing in my power to make her happy.

Its funny I got this interaction simply because Tyr was my favorite god in Smite, and it translated to God choice in anything DND haha

It's interesting how well made this chaotic neutral is: it's someone that suffered and lived for a long time, and learned to be detatched from suffering, and still seeking his own survival and maybe pleasure. But, there is something in the tone of the voice here and how he phrases everything that shows an underlying disconfort there, he is very much playing a part here in contrast on how much more laid back and comfortable he is when you save the tieflings. Even though he says he "hated it" and whatnot, he is much more cozy in there. Deep down, there is someone that cares a lot down there. Which makes it so much more heart-wrenching going through this evil route and in the end making him ascend, it's like you are the person that snuffs out all possible light inside him throughout your journey.
